Chapter 1
Orange-pink sunlight rose over the top of many towering buildings. Light glowed off the windows of buildings and houses as people inside woke for the new day. Admiring the sunlight, people smiled and exited from their homes. Streets began to fill with men, women and children hurrying to jobs and school. Clouds moved in form the east, bringing in a fresh scent of rain moving at a slow rate. In an far off building, the sunlight struck a prominent window which held a young brunette with emerald-green eyes just like the real gems. The seventeen-year-old moved about the apartment readying herself for school.
A colorful curse word fell from her full pink lips as the brunette noticed her clock was running ten minutes behind causing her to hurry. ‘Damn it! I am going to be late and on the first day of the new term!’ She exclaimed in her mind as shegrabbed some toast bread. She quickly ate away her toast while placing her shoes on. ‘Okay, do I have everything?’ The brunette questioned while ruffling through her stuff. ‘Yup, everything is here, good.’ She intoned while moving out of her apartment into the hallway racing to take the elevator. She reached the front desk, caught a breath and then dashed out to catch the morning city bus. Her morning turned slightly sour as she stepped outside to see the bus leaving without her.
"NO!” She yelled waving her arms. “STOP!” She ordered, urging the bus to heed her. “WAIT!” Her order becoming a plea. “STOP!” She yelled one last time as the bus turned a corner. “Great.”She murmured angrily, while spinning on her heel. “Now I’ll have to take the subway." She muttered while looking both ways to cross the street.
Unknown to her, another figure was racing down the streets. He too was late, thanks to unfaithful item, known as an alarm clock. He had rose color hair flowing to his mid back with rosy locks in front. Along with evergreen eyes that held a hint of wisdom and mystery. He wore a pink colored boy’s uniform of another school. Neither of them noticed each other, to deep in running mode, until the two crashed into each other.
"OW!"A female voice greeted Kurama as he opened his eyes to see a young woman with auburn hair held in a high ponytail with rose pink earrings. His study noted about her school uniform, it belonged to Juuban high school. ‘Thank kami.’ He stated and followed his thought with his reason. ‘It’s not one of those girls who ‘accidentally’ bump into me.’ Thought Kurama.
Emerald-green eyes started into cloud filled sky as her hand rub the back of her head. She cursed today for things were just not working out for her. Something then moved under her causing her to look down right way. Evergreen and emerald-green met locked into a kind of staring contest.
"Really!” A voice cried, and the pair blinked. “You young people have no shame these days!"An old woman scolded as she came across them. Makoto broke off the contest first. She saw what the old woman had meant. She had landed on top, with her hips right over his, with his hand on her hips as well. She felt herself blush to her roots with embarrassment and shame to be caught like this and in public too. Kurama felt his own embarrassment and shame, but for a different reason. His Yoko side, had found this quite amusing, and respond with a bit of arousement. He tried to move again, trying not draw her attention but failed. She looked down catching the three hundred year Yoko eyes.
Kurama could have started forever into emerald-green eyes that held a type of wisdom with life in them. That is of course if not the old woman hadn’t interrupted. He felt the young woman jump off him mumbling what sound like apologies. In a quick movement Kurama grabbed his school bag moving it over his pelvis.
"Sorry, I didn’t-" Kurama started, and was cut of by the woman.
"No, don’t apologize-" She murmured while glancing slightly to the side.
"Let the young man apologize."The old woman ordered. The brunette glanced to the old woman with a bit of a huff, but nodded politely.
"I’m truly sorry.” Kurama said with a bow. “I didn’t mean to bump, well crash into you, but I was running kind of...late."Kurama told her, bowing a little more.
"Oh, no.” Makoto waved off his apology with a smile. “It is my fault as well. I-" Makoto stopped as the old woman spoke.
"There now things are settled now.” She informed them. “Good day."The elderly woman chimed while walking away from the young people. Humming an unknown tone to herself. Kurama and Makoto glanced at the old woman while sweat-dropping at her actions. Makoto then glanced at her watch seeing it was past eight thirty-five.
"Great." Makoto huffed, drawing Kurama’s concern.
"Something wrong?"Kurama inquired as he saw a bit of displeasure on her face.
"Nothing.” She bit out before sighing. “Just late for school, and on the new term too." Makoto stated while bending down to pick up her school bag and began walking to the subway ‘No point in hurrying.’ She claimed mentally. ‘I’m late as it is.’ Makoto observed and then a sound alerted her that someone was behind her causing her to look back. It was the young man she had crashed into, he was walking a little behind her, his cheeks a shade of light pink. She didn’t know why, but she felt her cheeks grow hot as she gazed at him.
