“Talking”

‘Thoughts’

Chapter 3

Kurama sighs deeply as he places a suitcase on his new bed. The room was nearly empty with the exception of a desk and a small dresser. White walls blinded Kurama eyes, and he made himself promise to paint the new walls a different color as soon as possible. A soft knock grabs the human fox attention causing him to open the door.

“Yes?” Kurama asked.

“I going out to eat, wanna come?” Makoto offers.

For the first time Kurama truly studies the young Jovian woman. She was tall, but not as tall as himself which he guesses about 5'7". Medium-length brown hair held in a high ponytail. Emerald-green eyes, smooth peach color skin, full pink lips, and a slender neck. Kurama felt his blood beginning to warm his cheeks as his eyes furthered their glance over. A full breast held by a red shirt, long slender arms, but tone, flat, but smooth stomach, shapely hips and very long, nice looking legs. In all his life Kurama had never blush just by looking at a girl until now. All his years of suppressed hormones suddenly came bursting forth all at once, striking Kurama right between the eyes.

“S-sure.” Stuttered Kurama, as he unbelievably felt the heat rise in his cheeks.

She smiles at him, “Great.” Makoto quipped.

They walk around a bit, looking for a restaurant, eventually they came across an American restaurant. They found a table at the back for two people and sat down to order. A witness came over, who blush furiously at the sight of Kurama, but was still able to take their orders. She returned minutes later with their food. Both of them ate silently, but Makoto was trouble by her thoughts. She wanted to talk to Kurama and maybe get to know him a bit. Since she would be living with him. ‘Maybe I should start with asking something simple about him.’ She wonders.

“Shiuichi,” She calls while gazing up from her dish.

“Hm?” Kurama grunts and looks up.

“I want to ask, since we’ll be living together...is there anything I need to know?” Makoto prods gently.

“Like what?” Kurama inquires while ignoring his Yoko half laughing at him.

Makoto shrugged as if she didn’t care. “ Anything.” She responds.

“I really don’t have anything to tell you.” Kurama gives, and then returns to his meal.

A soft sigh reach Kurama ears, glancing up again to see discouraged emerald-green eyes. He knew the brunette was just trying to be friendly, but he was quite worried about his family. For a while Kurama wonder if she was feeling the same way. Makoto must have been feeling the same way. She didn’t want to leave Tokyo, so surely she must have family there.

“Forgive me, I’m being rude.” stated Kurama

“You’re not being rude.” Makoto returned, giving him her full attention. “I understand if you don’t want to talk.” Makoto said giving him a small smile.

A smile formed on Kurama lips for the first time today. Makoto was certainly different from the girls of his school who would kill to be in her spot right now. Makoto seeing Kurama smile felt her heart beat faster then normal at this. ‘He has a great smile’ thinking this Makoto looked away.

Paying for their food, their walk back to the apartment was a quiet one. It wasn’t an uncomfortable one, but the one of companionable silence. Reaching home, both said good night to each other. Slipping out of her clothes and into her red-orange pj’s, Makoto laid in bed thinking of what tomorrow would bring. Sleep later came to her and her eyes slowly closed. Ringing noises awoken the sleeping brunette, yawing Makoto pushes the snooze button on her clock Getting up she made her way to the kitchen when the smell of miso soup and rice filled her nose.

Makoto saw Kurama standing in front of the oven only in his pajama pants. Makoto felt her cheeks grow hot as things come to mind. ‘Oh my!’ She exclaims mentally, trying to banish her furthering thoughts. Kurama chooses that time to turn around giving her a full view of his chest and stomach. Makoto studies Kurama just as he had studied her the other day. Rose color hair, evergreen eyes, a lithe neck, and wide slender shoulders. Tone arms, with well tone chest, splendid stomach, good hips and lean legs. ‘Stop it, Makoto!’ She orders herself, trying to decimate the building blush. ‘You are drooling!’ Makoto yells at herself. She took a seat at the table forcing the blush back before Kurama notice.

“Good morning, did you sleep well?” Kurama greeted while putting a bowl of miso soup in front of her along with bowl of rice.

“Fine, thank you.” Makoto responds, and then glances up a little. “I wasn’t expecting you to be up so early.”Makoto commented, taking her chopsticks and began eating.

“I’m a morning person.” said Kurama taking a seat himself.

Makoto nodded, “ Well since you made breakfast, I’ll do lunch.” Makoto states and then looks at him. “Okay with you?” She inquires.

“That fine.” Kurama agrees.

For a few moments the two ate silently till...

BAM!

Kurama and Makoto jumped up at the noise. Kurama ready with his rose, and Makoto stood ready in a fighting stand. There, in the doorway was the rookie detective Keiichi. His silvery, gray hair fell over his silver blue eyes as he breathes heavily for a while, like he had been running.

“Good morning.”Keiichi greeted while smiling brightly at them.

“Detective Keiichi.” Kurama returned, lowering his hand along with his rose. “I advised you in the future for your safely, not to do that again.”Kurama stated putting the rose on the table.

“I understand.” Keiichi muttered, while standing straight. “However, I needed to get here as soon as I could.” He explains and shoves a few things in front of him. “Here are your new schedules and school uniforms.” Keiichi said handing them two school bags and their schedules.

In the bags were their school supplies and uniforms they would be needing for Sendai High School. Makoto held out the girl’s uniform; a light green vest with a white shirt short sleeves and red tie with a short tiny, gray skort skirt. Kurama uniform was a long sleeved, dark green jacket with a white shirt and red tie and gray pants.

“This is Sendai school uniform?” asked Makoto who attention wasn’t on the vest or shirt, but on the skirt. ‘Even the skirt I wear as Sailor Jupiter isn’t as short as this!’ She exclaimed mentally, glaring at the offensive clothing.

“Yes, it is.” Keiichi remarked. “Now you two get ready, I’ll be taking you to school this morning.”Keiichi ordered.

Changing from their morning pj’s to school uniforms breakfast past quickly, but the drive to school was a slow one as Keiichi gave them their cover names and story to repeat to others if asked where they come from.

“Now, Shiuichi, Makoto, both of you have been given new names and background.” Holding up a brown folder as he talked. “Both of you will be playing as a young couple just married, it was your parents final wishes.” He said while reading the information from the folder. “Your names are Shun Amawa and Kisa Amawa.” Keiichi told them.

“I understand.” Kurama spoke up first. “Anything else, Makoto and I need to know?” Kurama asked.

“Well, Shiuichi you new birthday is Oct. 18, and Makoto your birthday is April 25.” Keiichi continued. “Shiuichi, your background is that you come form a traditional Japanese family.” He added. “Makoto, your is also a traditional family meaning this was an arranged marriage.” Keiichi finished, glancing at his two passengers in the rearview mirror.

Kurama nodded going over every detail twice to make sure neither of them forgot anything. He side glanced to look at his ‘wife,’ who was looking out the car window. A distant look in her eyes as trees, buildings, and people past by outside the window. Sensing someone watching her, Makoto turned her head slightly over to where Kurama was.

“What?” Makoto asked her voice held a plain and dull tone, but he could hear the unhappiness in her voice.

“Missing someone?” Kurama asked

“Yes.” Answered Makoto

‘Maybe her boyfriend?’ Kurama wondered, he didn’t know why, but a sudden feeling of possessiveness and jealously filled his chest. Tightening around his heart though he couldn’t understand why to began with.

“My friends,” Makoto elaborated, and then glanced quickly at his eyes, “you?” she proffered. “You must miss being with your family and friends.” said Makoto.

The feeling in Kurama chest disappeared as he answered her. “Yes, I do, greatly.” Kurama responded.

A sad smile spread across Makoto’s face. “ You’re lucky, you can remember your parents anytime.” She stated, clasping her hands tighter in her lap. “I can barely remember mine well, except for my mother perfume and my dad’s voice.” She murmured.

“I can remember my mother, but my father I can’t remember him at all.” Kurama stated, Makoto gazed at him quickly.

“I thought that man, Mr.Hatanaka was your father.” Makoto said.

“He’s my stepfather, my real father died when I was still a baby.” Kurama spoke, his eyes lost to memories.

“Oh, I’m sorry...” Makoto was cut off gently by him.

“Don’t be, I as well, can barely remember him.” Kurama answered, reaching over slightly to lay a warm hand on hers in a comforting motion.

“Sorry to cut the chit chat between the now happily married couple, but we’re here.” said Keiichi watching the two.

Sendai high school was like all the other high schools in Japan. A building with a clock tower that ringed when school began and ended. A gym with the track field and everything else needed for sports. Keiichi turns in his seat giving Kurama and Makoto two gold looking rings.

“Here are your wedding rings.” Keiichi stated. The two teens took the rings and placed them on before stepping out. Once out the two headed for their class room as they walk through the hallways many of the girls and some boys stop to stared and point at Kurama.

“You’re turning out to be quite popular Shun.” joked Makoto.

Kurama sweat-dropped “Too true.” He muttered.

They found their class, B-2, Kurama reached out to open the door, “Lady’s first.”

“Scarey’d cat.”
