A Heartbreaking Misunderstanding
(One Shot)
"Just tell her already!!" A man said as he set down the regular black coffee.(One Shot)
"I can't!"
"Why the hell not?"
"Because it will ruin our friendship, that's why not." A drop dead goregous man replied, running a hand through his lushious raven black hair.
"I don't get you man. You're the most wanted man at our university and every time a girl asks you out, you turn each one of them down. Admit it already. You've drooled over Serena for ages and she's the One. She took you heart years ago and has had it ever since." A sandy blonde haired man in his late teens said, waving a finger knowingly a his best friend.
Darien cursed under his breath something about Drew knowing him too well for his own damn good.
Andrew just stood behind the counter and shook his head in disbelief. His two best friends were head over heels for one another, yet both refused to admit it. Rejection seemed to be the answer on Darien's part and stubborness on Serena's. Then an ideal popped into Andrew head. "Dare, do you have your cell phone on you?" he asked nonchalently. Darien looked at his friend suspiciously for a moment before answering. "Yes, I do. Why do you ask?"
Andrew stuck out his hand, signifying for Darien to give it to him. Reluctantly, Darien gave up his phone to his friend and waited for impending doom.
After a minute or two, Darien received his cell phone back. Not wanting to know what Andrew just did, he quickly replaced the phone in his pants pocket. Checking his watch, Darien realized he was running behind. Dashing out of the Cafe, Darien didn't see the brunette female dashing in the oppisite direction until it was too late. "Watch where you're going, why don't you?!" The brunette yelled. Darien couldn't resist the urge to laugh at the sight before his eyes.
"Oh godness and here I thought I wouldn't have to deal with my personal stalker today." Darien mused, as he referred to a school girl that attended the high school near by called Starlight High. "Darien why are you always so mean to me? Why can't you treat me like you do Meatball brains, huh? She's such a dork and klutz. I'm so much more graceful that that moron." The last comment pissed him off to no end. " And I'm a the king of England." Darien laughed out loud. "Listen," he sighed. "for the millionth time leave me alone Beryl." Darien stated coldly before continuing his trip.

After stepping into his appartment and throwing his keys on the counter, Darien removed his shirt and sat on his bed. Then he recalled Drew doing something with his cell phone. Reaching back into his jacket, he removed the phone and hit the scroll button. Everything seemes to still be here, he thought before he saw something that wasn't in his phone book previously that day. Her number.
Serena's cell
524-0112
Darien's heart stopped as he absentmindedly dropped his cell phone. Drew was going to get it for sure the next time he went to the arcade, he vowed mentally.
