Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ A Pretty Wonderful Boy ❯ A Pretty Wonderful Boy ( Chapter 3 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Story #29 by Sailor DKC. Hey, I’m back! I hope everyone’s had a
great summer this year. Well, this story is the conclusion to the
first two, “I Am Pretty” and “Oh, So Pretty”. I had a blast writing
this story about Raye and Jedite. And if you want to confirm, yes, I
borrowed and changed some of the lyrics from “I Feel Pretty” from the
great musical “West Side Story” which inspired me to write all these
three stories. I just love that song!

The picture which inspired me for the conclusion is from the artist
Bounce whose work is at Generals Love. When you see this *, I am
describing the picture in a scene. This story is dedicated to you,
Bounce! You draw very well!

The character Teela in this story is based on the character Teteisu
in the first season of Sailor Moon, episode #12 (English dub episode
#9, dub name- Titus).
Rated PG for slightly strong language and it’s entertainment only.
Naoko Takeuchi owns Sailor Moon, not me! Have fun reading!

Let us not forget 9/11/01, second anniversary. -_-
Please be alert and be safe.
Most importantly, live life!

Peace.

A PRETTY WONDERFUL BOY
By Sailor DKC

At the ribbon dancing festival in one of the cities of the Moon
Kingdom, the public enjoyed themselves by watching the dancers
perform amazingly with their long, fluttering ribbons on hand poles.
As the performance ended, the fireworks began. Everyone stopped where
they were to look up into the night sky and “oohed” and “aahed”,
watching the beautiful shooting displays of stars, arrows, hearts,
and gushing bursts of light. The noises were very loud, so loud in
fact no one can hear a particular couple kissing passionately behind
one of the display booths.

Jedite and Raye were unaware of the fireworks as they embraced each
other tightly. Making soft kissing sounds, they move further down
behind other booths. Reaching a pile of fresh unused hay which is
behind a booth for pony rides, they both fell on it with Jedite on
top of Raye. Releasing himself from her lips, he devoured her neck
with tender bites, nibbles and kisses. Gasping in delight, Raye clung
onto his arms, whispering, “Jedite, oh, Jedite!”
“Raye, my pretty Raye!” Jedite whispered back, caressing her chin
with his lips. He took her mouth again, both of them going “Mmmm!”
and they started rolling back and forth in the hay.
As the fireworks started to finish, the noise lessened. The couple
slowed down their rolling until he was on top of her again, kissing
tenderly. As the last fireworks went off, they shared one last kiss
and stared at each other in surprised awe.

Jedite slowly rose up to a kneeling position while Raye scooted
backwards to a sitting position. Standing up, he held out his hand to
her, and she took it, pulling herself up. Then she felt herself drawn
into his arms again. “I guess we did almost more than kissing this
time,” he murmured into her hair.
Feeling his strong arms holding her tight, Raye closed her eyes and
sighed, snuggling into his warmth. “I guess we almost did,” she
replied.
Quietly groaning at the soft feel of her curvaceous body pressing
into him, Jedite struggled to keep his emotions in check. ‘This isn’t
going the way it should be,’ he thought. ‘I can’t have these feelings
now. Damnit!’ Exhaling sharply, he held Raye away from him. ‘No! I
won’t fall for it again!’
“Jedite, what is it?”

Raye looked at him, confused. Turning his head away from her, he
said, “It’s nothing.” Taking her hand, he continued, “It’s been quite
a night, let’s head back to the Palace.”
Blinking in puzzlement, she nodded. “Well, all right.” As they
started going through the festival grounds, she thought, ‘I don’t
understand. We were just in a passionate embrace, and now he’s acting
like it’s nothing. What’s with him?’
“Jedite, we have to talk.”
“There’s nothing to talk about. It was just a crazy moment we went
through,” he stated, abruptly.
Gasping, she stared at him as they continued walking. “Crazy moment?
We kissed!”
“So we did. Don’t get worked up all over it. It’s no big deal.”
“No big deal? Of course, it’s a big deal! We were practically rolling
in the hay!” she barely shrieked. Some people turned to look at them.
Jedite reddened as he grabbed her arm and dragged her faster. “Jeez!
Announce it to the whole world, why don’t you?” he barked, gritting
his teeth.

“Hey, I’m sorry if I sounded too loud! But, at this moment, I’m very
angry and frustrated. We argued, then we kissed, then you act like
it’s nothing! So please do me the courtesy and talk to me!” Raye
stood her ground at the last statement, jerking back Jedite who was
still holding her arm. Recovering his balance, he looked at her for a
while, then let out an exasperated sigh.
“Raye, this is very complicated, and I-“
Suddenly, a new voice entered the conversation. “Well, well, well!
Look who’s here! Hello, Jeddy!” The couple turned to see a lady,
wearing a skin tight blue dress that reached mid-thigh. The dress
matched her blue black straight hair as it shimmered in the
starlight. Jedite stared at her with an angry, piercing expression.
“Teela.”
“You know each other?” Raye asked.
“Of course, we dated a while back,” Teela giggled, posing as she
draped one hand on her hip. “My date is over at the games booth,
winning me a prize.” Looking up and down at Raye, she went on, “Well,
Jeddy, looks like you found someone that could actually top me!”
“What?” Raye said, arching an eyebrow.
“Teela, don’t.” Jedite said, in a warning tone.
“I just didn’t think it would be her, Princess ‘love’em from one guy
to the next’ Raye of Mars!” Teela laughed.
“Shut up!” he snapped, stepping forward.
Raye blocked his way with her arm outstretched. “What are you talking
about?”
“Well,” Teela began, shrugging. “It all started…”

FLASHBACK BEGINS

Jedite was staring angrily at the guy whom Teela was clutching onto
his arm. “So it’s true,” he said. “You were going out behind my
back.”
“Uh, do you two know each other?” the guy asked.
“Oh, he’s just someone I go out with sometimes,” Teela replied, with
a wave of her hand as if she didn’t care. “Can you get me some punch,
please, cutie?” The guy winked at her, then walked across the dance
floor in the direction of the punchbowl stand. Jedite fisted his
hands in anger as she placed her hands on her hips, giving him a
‘what?’ look.
“Why were you out with him?” he demanded.
“Well duh! He’s cute!” Snorting, she smoothed her hair. “And I look
so good next to him.”
“But we’ve been attending parties at my prince’s castle for a while.
I thought we are having a relationship.”
“Relationship? Jeddy, I think you’re taking this way too seriously,”
she laughed. “Anyway, you should be lucky to just date me.”
“Huh?” Jedite frowned, his mouth gaped open.
“When I first say you, you were so utterly handsome in your own
rugged way. Oh, and when we went out, people remarked how striking we
look together. Your rugged good looks and my elegant beauty. So
naturally when I went out with this guy, people remarked how intimate
we look together. His piercing looks, and, of course, my elegant
beauty.” Smoothing her hair again, she sighed dramatically. “Oh, it
is so hard to keep up a perfect image of-“

Stopping, Teela noticed Jedite giving her the strangest look she had
ever seen. “What’s wrong, Jeddy?”
Taking a deep breath, he exhaled as he began. “I don’t think I have
ever met a stupid, selfish, vain, little bitch like you in my entire
life. All you care about is being seen, not being with. I thought we
had something, but now I thank the Earth’s mountains we don’t. The
only thing between us is physical attraction.” Chuckling, Jedite
crossed his arms and shook his head. “I guess that’s all we have in
common. But I’ll tell you one thing, Teela. If I ever meet a girl who
outranks you in the ‘looks’ department, I’ll be sure to introduce her
to you so she can give you better pointers!”
With that, he turned and walked off, leaving a shocked Teela with her
mouth, gaping open.

FLASHBACK ENDS

“Anyway, I thought he was just talk, but I was obviously wrong. He
finally found the most vain person of all. Tell me, Miss Raye of
Mars, was Jeddy so rude to you when you first met?” Teela asked,
sweetly.
“Would you just shut it?” Jedite barked, angrily.
“And did he get a little physical with you when he got fed up with
your yapping?”
Gasping, Raye reddened as Jedite growled silently. “Uh-oh, did I
mention something familiar?” Teela asked, innocently. “Oh, don’t fret
over it, girl. He gets that way when he knows he can’t win an
argument otherwise he’d be so cruel as to go too far and hurt your
feelings!”
“That’s enough!” Jedite shouted.
She stopped, but gave him a satisfied smirk. “All right, then. You
haven’t changed at all, Jeddy. You go to any lengths to shut a girl
up even if it means hurting her feelings.” As she turned to leave,
she was halted by Raye’s calm voice.
“You certainly take the cake.”

Turning back, Teela looked at Raye. “What?”
Chuckling without humor, Raye crossed her arms. “I really thought I
was the most vain person around here. Jedite pointed that out to me
when I hurt a close friend of mine. I changed after that. But you
haven’t. Jedite was hurt because of you, but you didn’t care then,
and you still don’t care now. All you can think of now is to get back
at him. That’s still a part of vanity, missy. Showing off to show
that you’re better than him. I guess I also agree with him that you
are and still are a stupid, selfish, vain, little bitch!”
Throwing furious looks at Raye, Teela huffed and walked back to her
date who was waiting for her. She snatched the prize which he held
out for her and kept walking, with him running after her.
Jedite started to speak. “Raye, listen, this isn’t how I wanted-“
She held up a hand to quiet him. “Would you please take me back to
the Palace?”
He wanted to talk to her some more, but he could tell that she had
enough for one night. Nodding, he escorted her back.

Back at the Palace, Jedite tried to make eye contact with Raye, but
she kept herself looking away from him. As soon as the other
princesses bade their farewells to the other guardians, she left with
them. Feeling so down, Jedite trailed behind his companions and
Prince Darien who finished his business with Queen Serenity and her
daughter, Princess Serena. They returned home to Earth through the
transportation room.
Entering the royal lounge room in the prince’s castle, the men
settled on the luxurious small sofa chairs and talked about their
evenings with the princesses. Only Jedite remained silent. Darien
noticed his unresponsiveness. “Jed, what’s up? You look pretty down.”
“I know what it is,” Zoicite said, smiling wickedly. “Got lucky with
Princess Raye, huh?”
“Hey!” Jedite snapped in anger. “She’s not that kind of girl!”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, man!” Nephlite said, motioning his hands in a
halting gesture. “Zoi’s just joking. Get a grip!”
Malachite was holding a red hair ribbon in his hand, caressing it
with his fingers. “I say he is in love.”
“What? No way!” Zoicite gasped.
“After what happened with Teela?” Nephlite leaned forward in his
seat. “So tell us, Jed. Are you in love with the Princess of Mars? Is
she anything like the graceful Lita of Jupiter?”
“Or the shy Amy of Mercury?” Zoicite interjected.
“Or the spirited Mina of Venus?” Malachite added. “Because that’s
what drew me to her. The way she made me laugh. She gave me her hair
ribbon as a keepsake. I know I’m feeling something for her.”
“Amy made me feel like I could give her the universe,” sighed
Zoicite.
“Lita is like a swaying willow in my arms,” Nephlite murmured,
closing his eyes and placing his closed hand under his chin.

“From what I’m hearing from you guys, you’re all in love, except-
Jedite?” Darien asked.
“Hmmm?”
“What drew you to Raye in the first place?”
After a long while of thinking, Jedite answered, “It was more than
her beauty.” Staring off into space, he let an exasperated breath.
“But I messed it up big time.” He told them about the confrontation
with Teela.
“Raye told Teela off? All right!” Zoicite laughed.
“Serves her right after the way she treated you,” Nephlite agreed.
Malachite held the ribbon to his lips, then asked, ”Have you told
Raye how you felt about her?”
Shaking his head, Jedite replied, “I couldn’t get a chance. She won’t
listen to me.”
“And you’re giving up?” Darien said, incredulously. “Oh, no, that’s
not the Jedite I know. The Jedite I know would use his best method to
get what he wants. Or don’t you want to?”
Thinking to himself, Jedite thought, ‘I do. And it’s because I-“
Realization dawned on him. ‘I’m in love.’ He smiled. “Oh, yeah,” he
said to his friends, his confidence returning. “I want to.”

Days later…at the Moon Palace…

Queen Serenity had arranged another meeting with the princesses and
the guardians. Only this time, she had asked the prince to have his
guardians wear their blue general uniforms, and she will have her
princesses wear their sailor uniforms. They are to meet in the throne
room for the Queen has important topics to discuss with all of them.
As soon as everyone met in the throne room, they all paired up in
conversation, except for Jedite, as General Jadeite, and Raye, as
Sailor Mars. Arms crossed, she kept her back to him, looking at the
door entrance, waiting for the Queen, Princess Serena, and Prince
Darien who have not arrived yet. Taking a deep breath and placing his
left arm behind his waist, Jedite walked right up to Raye and cleared
his throat to get her attention.

* Sailor Mars turned her head to look at her right. General Jadeite
stood there, smiling at her. *

“Hi,” he said.
Turning her head back, Raye tilted her head up in defiance. “I don’t
want to talk to you, General Jadeite.”
Now Jedite became angry. He leaned toward her to whisper in her ear,
“Skip the formalities, Sailor Mars. If you don’t talk to me, I’ll
kiss you here like I did the first time we met in front of everyone!”
Whipping around, she stared at him, wide-eyed. “You wouldn’t dare!”
Stepping forward, he reached out to hold her. “You asked for it!”
“All right! All right! I’ll talk to you!” She stepped further away
from the group, knowing he is behind her. “What do you want to talk
about?”
“First of all, I want to explain my situation with Teela. It’s true
that I said all those things, but it’s only because I wanted to hurt
her the way she hurt me. I never planned to find another vain person,
but I met you, and I heard about your dating lifestyle. That’s why I
was so rude to you. You reminded me of Teela. Plus you looked so damn
hot when you got angry. I had to kiss you.”

Reaching out, he caressed her chin with his fingers. “Then you
changed after that, and it made you more desirable to me. I wanted to
kiss you all night.”
Closing her eyes, Raye shivered as he touched her cheek. “Why did you
stop?”
“I thought I was going through the same phase again with Teela.
That’s why I pulled away,” Jedite said, shaking his head. “It was
really stupid. I’m so sorry. I really didn’t want to stop kissing
you.”
Taking his hand from her cheek, Raye held it up with both her hands.
“I’m glad you told me this. And I’m glad you told me off the first
time. If you hadn’t, I guess I would still be Princess ‘Love’em from
one guy to the next’ Raye. And I would never get a pretty wonderful
boyfriend.”
Startled, Jedite asked, “You have a boyfriend?”
Nodding, Raye took his other hand and started to lightly swing their
held hands, side to side. “Only if he would like me as his
girlfriend.” She gave him a knowing look.

It sunk in, and he gave out a hearty, happy laugh. “I wouldn’t like
it.”
“Huh?” She blinked, startled.
“I’d love it.”
Now it’s her turn to give a happy laugh. “I’d love it, too.”
Leaning into each other, they tenderly kissed. The mood was soon
broken by the arrival of the Queen, the princess and the prince. As
they joined with the group, holding hands, Raye and Jedite blushed as
they noticed the secret smiles of their fellow sailors and generals
directed right at them.

Weeks have passed by…

Raye was dancing in her room, anticipating the coming moments when
Jedite will arrive to take her out. She had never felt so pretty in
her entire life. She felt so happy and so giddy and so in love that
she sang it out. “I feel stunning…and entrancing…feel like running
and dancing for joy!” There was a knock on her door. “For I’m loved…
by a pretty wonderful boy!”
Running to the door, she threw it open and smiled at Jedite as he
smiled back. Raye flung herself into his arms, and they shared a
loving kiss.
