Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ An American Boy in Tokyo ❯ General Shenlong ( Chapter 13 )
"He did what?!?!?" Raye asked when Mina told them of the feat I had accomplished the night before.
"Yeah, my dad actually likes him!" Mina said. "If that's not a divine message, I don't know what is." Mina said looking up from the video game. I came upstairs and waved at everyone, smiling.
"Man, you have just achieved the status that every boy your age has been trying to reach since the day highschool was invented." Darien said. "You realize that you could get away with murder right now don't you?" I shrugged.
"Yeah, I could, but what's the point in doing that?" I asked smiling.
"You're something else." Lita chimed in. "I don't think I've ever had a boyfriend with that talent." She said. everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at Lita with their jaws dropped. "What?" she asked.
"Oh, nothing." Amy replied. "Anyway, so you told him the truth?" I nodded and shrugged.
"He's a class two." I replied. "Second hardest kind of parent to get through." I said. "I had to use a gimmick, usually that's not the case."
"You have clasifications of parents?" Darien asked. "I've got to hear this." He flipped a kitchen chair around and sat in it backwards, facing me. I sat down and lit a cigarette.
"Well, my friends and I came up with this scale of one to five. Five being the least difficult, and One being the most difficult." I said. "A class five parent is one of those dead beat parents that really doesn't give a rat's tail whether their kids live or die, those guys are cake, you could walk into the living room and rape their daughter in front of them, and they may yell at you because you're blocking the television." I said. Darien laughed somewhat.
"Go on, this is good stuff."
"Well, class four is just below average, surprisingly to most people, the rich are what primarily makes up this class. They're too busy managing businesses or worrying because their stock dropped a point to pay much attention to their children. Then there's class three, your average parent, those guys are the easiest, you just justify the sleepover with a good mark on a grade card or something, occasionally you'll have to use what we call a gimmick." I said. "Class two parents are royal pains, these guys are the upper middle class folks usually, and sometimes the rich people worried about their daughter's future. The strategy for these types is easy to explain, but hard to pull off. You just let them do the talking, whether it be screaming and yelling, or mumbling, and you answer their questions directly, you'll almost always have to use a gimmick to get through them. Finally, we have class one parents. These are not fathers, mind you, these are the sexist mothers that believe anything with a penis is evil." I said. Darien started laughing.
"Yeah, I've met a few of those before." He said. "So what's the strategy there?" He asked. I shrugged.
"I don't know, I've never met one under those terms before." I said. "Off hand, I'd say that there's two things about them: first, if you're just trying to get laid, better luck finding someone else, because the instant they find out about it, you're butt is fair game in hunting season. Second, if you're really in love with the girl, use patience and better judgment, these kinds of parents are the kind who will ask if you want to come over, just to test your character." I said.
"Wow, you've got it all figured out, don't you?"
"Well, those of us who don't date, analyze the rest of you who do." I replied. "Unfortunately, most of the tactics I just mentioned are hit and miss, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Which is why there's rule number one that supercedes all rules for dealing with the classes, be honest. you might not get your way, but you'll earn their respect, and in the long run, the repsect of your date's parents is a more useful tool in the dating game than anything else you'll find."
"That's very true." Darien agreed. "Fortunately for me, Serena's mom was probably a class three by that scale."
"Actually, I'd say she was a two." I said. "From what little I saw of her in the series, she seemed to be very involved in Serena's life."
"Oh yeah, you should have seen her, she went completely bananas over the wedding." Serena said rolling her eyes.
"So, Alex, what were your parents?" Mina asked. "Where did they rank?" I looked back down at the table and chuckled slightly.
"Somewhere around four point five." I replied. "My mother disowned me after I started to see the shrink. It was three years and a few days before the day I showed up here, and she hadn't said so much as one word to me in that whole time frame. I even had to start cooking my own meals. The only reason my father started talking to me again, was because he could make money off of me." I smiled and shook my head. "I didn't lie when I said I was emancipated. They forced me to get emancipated after my first three inventions had gone through." I said. Everyone stopped again and looked at me.
"That's terrible, so you were actually an adult at fourteen?" Mina asked.
"Yup, as far as the government was concerned anyway." I said. "I'm just glad that grandpa was gone before they started doing that stuff." I said. "It hurt for a while, then it just made me angry." I laughed. "They'd be really sorry if they could see me now." I chuckled. "Oh well, that road not taken." I said. "But enough about that, on to happier subjects."
"So, does that mean that you two stepped up the relationship?" Lita asked. I smiled slightly.
"Hang on, give me just a second and I'll answer that question." I placed a couple of fingers on the bottom of my wrist and watched my wrist watch. "Pulse is still normal, nope, not yet." I replied.
"Oh, good answer!" Raye applauded. "This guy just does not miss a beat, does he?" She asked Mina. Mina smiled and walked over to me, sitting on my lap and draping her arms over my shoulders.
"Not a one." She replied. "I'd just like to know what kind of books he had to memorize to get this way." She said. I shrugged.
"Well there was a couple of them, but most of them were relating to how to stay this way after the, pardon the expression, goal has been scored." I said. Darien started laughing uproariously and fell out of the chair he was sitting in. Mina looked at me with a shocked expression on her face.
"I knew it was too good to be true." Raye said rolling her eyes.
"What? I was quoting the book." I said.
"What book was that?" Lita asked. I looked thoughtful.
"You know, I don't remember the title, some psychologist wrote it though."
"So, you've done your homework on this whole dating thing." Raye said.
"I never go anywhere, or do anything without being prepared for what's coming."
"I thought you didn't plan." Mina said, still sitting on my lap.
"I don't, you don't have to plan to be prepared."
"Well, I just wish there were more guys like you around this town." Amy said. I shurgged.
"I suppose I could invent a cloning machine, though I can't guarantee that they won't all come out head over heels for Mina though." I said.
"Bada bing." Darien said. "There's another one, you're scoring major points here, you know that don't you?" I smiled and winked at him.
"Yup, saving up to trade them in some day." I replied. He smiled and shook his head, chuckling.
"Well at this rate, you'll have enough to trade in, oh, I give it a week tops." He said glancing at his watch. Then he stopped. "Whoa, it's getting late, I'm gonna be late for work, I have to fly, I'll see you all later." He stopped long enough to kiss Serena. "Bye honey, see you at home?"
"I'll be there." she replied. "I love you."
"Love you too, later guys." He walked out and drove off.
"I should be going too." Raye said. "I promised Grandpa that I'd help him get the temple ready for the tourist season." She said.
"Oh man, I'm gonna be late for class!" Mina said glancing at her watch.
"Well, we can't have that, let's get you to class." I said. She got up and we all went to our vehicals and left. I dropped Mina off at the campus.
"I'll call you when I'm finished." She said.
"I'll be waiting." I replied. She kissed me and then grabbed her bag and walked off to the classroom. I started back home when my belt buckle let out an head splitting tone. I hit the button and pulled off to the side of the road.
"Where is it?" I asked Jackson in the LCD screen on my left arm.
"The mall parking lot, it's gotta be a commanding officer, Alex, be careful." He said. I nodded.
"I'm on my way." I peeled out and shot off to the mall at breakneck speed. When I pulled into the parking lot, it was empty.I got out of the car and walked towards the man standing in the middle of the parking lot. He was dressed in a black suit, but his robotic implants were still very noticable.
"A pathetic race of people, these humans." He said. "They see something they don't understand and run like a frightened flock of birds."
"Who the heck are you?" I demanded.
"Oh, forgive my rudeness, Alex, they call me General Shenlong. It's been brought to my attention that you've been giving my armies a hard time." He said.
"Yeah, that's kind of my job, this is a planet that's not for sale, so take your bidding elsewhere." I said. "Or else you're next." I gained a stance. He started laughing.
"Oh please, Alex, the IROG officers themselves are dropping golden eggs left and right at this very moment. They know as well as I do that you'll never lay a hand on me." I smiled from under my mask.
"Well then, I guess I'll have to kick you around with my feet then." I retorted, my voice drenched with amusment. "Your planet stealing days are over, pal." I rushed at him. He side stepped and threw out an arm to clothes-line me, much to his surprise I stopped short and grabbed his arm, twisting it until he was in front of me and jumping up, pushing off his back with both of my feet and flipping back into a stance, simultaneously launching him face first into the ground. He quickly recovered and gained a stance, smiling.
"I seem to have underestimated your power, Alex, forgive me, it's a mistake I won't make twice." We started circling.
"At least we agree on that." I said. He rushed at me and started pummeling me backwards into the wall. The battle was on, we fought back and forth for what seemed like hours, the laser blasts and explosive devices launched at each other had nearly leveled the mall by the time he finally got the upper hand and ripped off my belt, making my armor disappear.
"And so the achilles heel has been revealed!" He smiled, pleased with himself. He then continued to pummel me into the ground, when he finally left, tossing the belt to the ground just out of my reach, an ambulance came roaring up to the spot where I was laying, a torn up mess, and quickly got me to the nearest hospital, where I was immeidately placed into the ICU under critical condition.
