"Oh my god, Alex!" Mina's voice floated into my head. The nurse followed her into the room.

"Ma'am..."

"Please let her stay..." I rasped. The nurse sighed and nodded, walking out. Mina quickly ran to my side, she was in tears.

"What happened to you?"

"General Shenlong happened." Jackson's voice said from the other side of the room. "I'm sorry, Alex, I should have warned you about him. He's never been defeated." He pulled a green vial out of his jacket along with an air gun, watching for any nurses before injecting it into my arm. "That'll give the doctors something to talk about." He smiled. "The important part is that you survived, though the armor was destroyed."

"Who cares about the armor, what about the giant crater where the mall used to be?" I asked, my voice had returned to normal. Jackson smiled back at me.

"What crater?" He asked. "I've got to go, there'll be a replacement suit waiting for you when you get home, we're working on improvements as we speak. Consider yourself lucky, or maybe The Commander is right about you being the chosen one, nobody has ever survived a meeting with General Shenlong, at least not until today." He said. "We'll keep you posted." He said disappearing again. Just then the others filed into the room.

"Man, you're a mess." Darien said. "D.A.?" He asked. I nodded.

"Commanding officer." I replied. "He's mad at me cause I broke his toys."

"Well, looks to me like he returned the favor." I smiled.

"Well, he didn't get away without a scratch, though that's about all I did to him." I rolled my eyes. The nurse walked back in and everyone scooted off to the side so she could check my vitals.

"This is absolutely amazing." She said. "You've almost made a complete recovery in under an hour." She said. "I'd better go get the doctor." The doctor came in and checked me out as well.

"This is absolutely uncanny." He said. "How did you heal so quickly? I was afraid that we'd have to do surgery."

"I'm a fast healer, doc." I replied. "Guess I just have some guardian angels who are pulling in some bookoo overtime." I smiled. I could almost hear Jackson laughing at the comment.

"I guess so, well, there's no point in keeping you here in ICU, do you feel well enough to walk?" I sat up slowly and slid to my feet.

"Actually, doc, I feel pretty good." I replied doing a few stretches.

"We had our doubts about whether or not you'd make it when they brought you in." He smiled, looking at Mina who had big black streaks where her mascara had run. "Your man here is quite a fighter, young lady."

"I know." She replied, smiling back at him. "Is he good to go?"

"Well, I want to move him to a another bed outside of ICU for observation over night, usually patients that heal this fast suffer from aftershocks, or even discrepancies, where the body didn't heal properly. Will you be staying with him?"

"Yes." She replied. "If that's okay with you." She looked at me.

"I'd like that." I replied. He rolled the I.V. pole over to me. I grabbed it and we started walking down to another room. After getting me set up in bed, he smiled.

"Should I maybe call your parents?" He asked me.

"No, I'm emancipated." I replied. "I'll take care of the bill." He smiled.

"Okay, what about you, young lady, anyone I should call?"

"No, I'll call them, thank you." Mina said. The doctor smiled and left the room. The others took seats around the room.

"So, what happened, Alex?" Darien asked.

"Well, I had just dropped Mina off, and my belt goes off, right?" I said. "Well I pull off to the side and start talking to Jackson, who tells me that it's at the mall, and it's a commanding officer, so be careful. Well I go out there, and this creep is standing out in the middle of a completely deserted parking lot."

"Wow, that's more amazing to me than him actually being there, the parking lot was deserted?" Lita asked. I nodded.

"No joke. Anyways, so we start talking and then came the first round of blows, in which I slammed his face into the pavement." I said.

"Alright!" Raye said. "I bet he didn't like that."

"No, actually, I think he did, he says something about underestimating me and how it won't happen again then we start flying at each other fists and feet going ninety to nothing, laser blasts left and right, everything is just getting ripped up." I said motioning with my hands. "Next thing I know he grabs my belt and rips it off, and my armor disappears. Me being the lunatic that I am, I still throw a punch at him anyway, in which case he promptly choke slams me into the ground and continues to break every major bone in body, including some that I never knew existed." I said. They laughed at the joke.

"At least you have a sense of humor about it." Serena commented.

"What's there to have a sense of humor about, you guys?" Mina said starting to cry again. "He could have been killed out there!" I turned my head and looked at her.

"Mina, you listen to me, and you listen good, because I'm still on the adrenaline high from that battle, and I'll probably never again work up the nerve to speak to you in this manor. Everybody on the face of this planet is going to die someday, that's life, you can't avoid it, but that's no excuse to give up. I have two options, sitting here on this hospital bed. I can look back at what happened and laugh at how utterly stupid and cocky I was, or I can sit here and steam about it and run back out there making the same mistakes again. Next time I might not be so lucky." I said. "Point is, I'm going to die someday, and from where I'm sitting, I'll die the luckiest man alive knowing you like I do." I smiled. She started crying again and ran over burying her head in my shoulder. "Ow! Ow! Easy girl! I'm a gimp right now!"

"Wow, if he hasn't reached the trade in point yet, all bets are off!" Darien said grinning and shaking his head.
