Hotaru slipped open
the window in her room to let in the cool sea air. Outside it was
a cloudy, overcast day, and a mist hung over the ocean, which
made it look simply beautiful. Hotaru was extremely glad to be
out of the house that she shared with Haruka, Setsuna and
Michiru. Since she had grown older, it was more like living in a
dorm room with a bunch of friends then living with family. Hotaru
hadn't seen her father in months, but she knew he was doing well,
but lonely. Even looking out on the water made her think about
her past life, and though she was emotionally stronger now then
ever before, she knew that her friends wondered if her knees
would buckle when the past came back to haunt her. She knew
that the past would always return.

As Hotaru moved
away from the window, she disregarded her thoughts as something
to put off until she felt like being alone. Before going
downstairs to get breakfast, Hotaru dressed in a white summer
dress and brushed her hair, wondering if Usagi was awake yet. She
doubted it. Even though Usagi had matured a lot over the year,
she still hated getting up on time, loved food, and neglected her
studies. Walking onto the landing of the second floor, Hotaru
stopped and let the smells of cooking breakfast surround her.
Something rubbed against her leg, and she looked down to see
Artemis, Minako's white cat and gardian.
"Good morning, Hotaru-san," The cat said, and smiled up
at her. Being in a good mood, Hotaru picked him up and stroked
his head for a few moments.
"Artemis, do you think Setsuna will be here soon?"
"She should be. I don't know what she's working on, but it
sounds important," Hotaru nodded and put Artemis down.
"What, no free ride?" Artemis asked as Hotaru began to
walk away shaking her head.

"Usagi, if you
don't get up soon you'll miss breakfast!!" Chibiusa yelled
at Usagi's sleeping form. Usagi wiggled around a bit in the bed,
and then sat up a little groggily.
"Miss...breakfast?!" She yelled, "I missed
breakfast!? Iie!!" Usagi rolled out of bed, hurriedly
dressed and was running down the stairs putting her hair into
their odango style before Chibiusa could correct her. Chibiusa
sweat-dropped, sighed and followed the path Usagi had taken.
"Oh, no, I missed breakfast," she mocked Usagi in a
whiny voice. "PLEASE."
"Aagh! Chibiusa youlittlebrat, Ididn't missbreakfast!!"
Usagi called up to Chibiusa, she must have had food in her mouth,
for it was hard to distinguish what she was saying. Chibiusa
frowned at Usagi's outburst, there were some days that Chibiusa
wondered if Usagi actually *would* become Queen of Crystal Tokyo.

Hotaru walked into
the kitchen, noticing that most everyone was there, and that
Usagi was already stuffing her face.
"Good morning, Hotaru-chan, you want some breakfast?"
Michiru asked, pointing to the table which was loaded with toast,
eggs, and just about anything you could imagine for breakfast.
"Did Mako cook?" Hotaru asked, Michiru nodded, and
pulled out a chair for Hotaru.
"It'sreally good'Taru." Usagi said.
"Could you repeat that in Japanese so we could all
understand it?" Rei said, looking disgusted at Usagi's
display.
"She said 'It's really good, Hotaru'." Wufei said
coming in, "At least that's what I made of it, if you onnas
can't learn not to talk with your mouths full..."
"Aw, shove it Wu-man!" Duo yelled, "It's going to
be a nice day! Try to have a nice attitude!!"
"I don't know about you, but it seems to me that Wufei over
there is having permanent male PMS" Haruka said, and started
laughing at her own joke. Everyone was silent, and Haruka stopped
laughing with a snort. "Well, I thought it was funny."
She said, Michiru stuffed a piece of toast in Haruka's mouth to
make sure she was silenced. Ami looked uncomfortable, since no
one was talking while they ate, she did little to try and make
conversation. After a very stressed breakfast, everyone, for the
most part, went outside and to the beach.

Hotaru and Chibiusa
stayed behind on the deck long enough to apply sunscreen before
going out to the water. Even though their age was quite a
difference, they were still the best of friends.
"I don't know about these people we're staying with,
Hotaru-san." Chibiusa said, and Hotaru nodded.
"Especially Hiiro, how he pulled a gun on Usagi and us! What
a nice greeting!"
"He is very stealthy...I don't like stealthy people."
Hotaru said, somewhat childishly, for she was having some
problems putting her finger on what exactly she didn't like about
Hiiro Yui.
"Hotaru," Chibiusa whispered as if she were about to
tell a huge secret, "You are stealthy." She
giggled. Hotaru shrugged,
"I guess your right, then that must make me a
hypocrite."
"Come on, let's go swim," Chibiusa said throwing a
glance to Hiiro who was sitting under a tree typing on a laptop.
"He is stealthy." She said quite under her
breath.

On their way to the
sandy beach, Haruka caught sight of them and waved them over, as
if they didnt' know their own way to the huge ocean in front of
them. Michiru smiled as she saw her 'daughter' and Chibiusa
coming towards them looking happy. "See, Hotaru? I told you
that bathing suit would look nice on you." Michiru said,
referring to the light violet one-piece that Hotaru was wearing.
Hotaru blushed and then dunked herself under the water.
"Haruka, I think we should play V-ball instead of
swimming!" Minako said from the shore where she was holding
her volleyball impatiently.
"Come on Minako-chan! We have all summer to play
volleyball!" Usagi yelled to her friend.
"Yeah, you don't want to ruin your nails on the first day,
do you?" Duo yelled, splashing Quatre who was helpless
against him. Minako pouted, but she knew that Duo was only
flirting.

After several hours
on the beach, almost everyone except for Duo and Minako returned
to the beach mansion. Chibiusa watched outside as Minako finally
got her wish of playing V-ball, even if it was only against Duo.
Chibiusa wished she was older so she could have a
boyfriend. Chibiusa knew that Duo wasn't Minako's boyfriend, but
still...she wanted a friend like that.
"Chibiusa, have you seen Ami?" Usagi asked, coming up
behind the young teen. Chibiusa turned around and scowled at
Usagi for breaking her peace.
"She's in the living room with Quatre." Chibiusa said,
remembering that she had seen her blue haired friend with the
kind boy a few minutes ago. When Usagi was gone, Chibiusa turned
back to the window, but to her disappointment, Minako and Duo had
vanished.

Hiiro got up and
went into the kitchen, where he saw the blond, odango-baka trying
to make lunch. The only two people in the kitchen were Usagi and
Hotaru, and not to mention Luna, the particular black cat. Hiiro
seated himself at the counter, hoping he could get at least some
work done, everywhere else in the house seemed to be noisy, and
he didn't want to feel confined to the solitude of his room.
Usagi turned around and smiled at him, which he returned with a
cold stare, but for the most part, Tomoe Hotaru ignored him from
her place at the kitchen table. Hiiro didn't know why it agitated
him so, maybe it was the fact that no one else he had ever known
had been able to ignore him before. He wasn't about to try and
strike up any type of conversation with the girl, it just annoyed
him that she wouldn't even glance his way, her eyes totally
avoided him. Usagi, however, was not aloof towards either of them
at all. Trying to engage them both in conversation only succeeded
in exhausting her. Hotaru seemed fully absorbed in what she was
doing, that she didn't even seem to notice that Usagi or Hiiro
were in the room. Not even Duo could annoy Hiiro this
much. But why did he even care?

Usagi could feel
the tension mounting in the room, and try as she might, she could
not start a conversation with either Hotaru or Hiiro. With
Usagi's determination, she was surprised when she didn't even get
more then a 'hn' from Hiiro and a 'mm' from Hotaru. Usagi wanted
anything from them, even if it was a yell or a death threat (no
pun intended), but even with her banging pots and pans around in
her clumsiness, she didn't get a word. No 'I'm trying to work
here,' from Hiiro, which she expected even though she hadn't
known him that long, and not even a 'Usagi, please," from
the strong-willed yet normally stealthy Hotaru.
"Come on, guys, can we just talk?" Usagi asked. And, as
if she had set off a nuclear bomb in the mansion, both Hiiro and
Hotaru turned around.
"Why are you ignoring me?!" Hiiro yelled past Usagi,
and to Hotaru.
"Why do you care!? I don't even know you!"
"No one can ignore me!"
"I obviously can," Hotaru said and turned back to her
book, "just watch me,". Usagi was wide-eyed. What had
caused the sudden outburst of events? Was it her? Usagi had only
seen Hotaru so aggressive when she was Sailorsaturn, even to that
date she had only seen Hotaru so mad once when she was in
civilian form. Usagi sweat-dropped in nervousness and returned to
her work.

A few hours later

"Hello! Is
anyone here? Minna-san?" Setsuna called and opened the door
wider to see into the wood entryway.
"Usagi-chan...Haruka-san..., is anyone here alive?!"
"Puu-san! Coming!" A voice called down the hallway, it
was Chibiusa, and her stocking feet could be heard padding down
the hallway. A few moments later she appeared in front of
Setsuna, giggling slightly. "Sorry, I uh, got lost."
"Chibiusa-chan, this is Geiseino Meiunko." Setsuna
said, and laid a hand on a the shoulder of a girl that Chibiusa
hadn't even noticed before. She had dark brown hair that was
messily chopped off above her shoulders (Think of Ayanami Rei of
Evangelion, JUST like that.), her eyes were of a haunting green,
and her pale skin would scare the wits out of even a ghost.
"She's fourteen, I thought you two might get along well, and
she has been put in my custody over the summer until we can find
her a permanent home." Setsuna said, hoping for the best.
"Konnichiwa, Chibiusa-chan." Meiunko said, "I know
we will become friends."

"Good
afternoon, Hotaru-chan. I see you have kept yourself company
while I have been gone."
"Setsuna-mama..." Hotaru whispered, and turned around
to see Setsuna, using the name she had called Setsuna when she
was younger.
"You seem so lost, Hotaru-chan, is something the
matter?"
"No. I just missed you." Hotaru said, "You just
missed lunch."
"Who cooked?"
"Serenity-hime" Hotaru said, Setsuna made a face,
"That's okay, uh, we ate out...no need to serve us
leftovers."
"Us?"
"Yes, I told Chibiusa that there is a foster child that is
going to be with us over the summer named Meiunko."
"Is she a foster child, Setsuna-san?"
"Technically, yes."
"Well dont' you think that we should be introduced?"
Hotaru asked, Setsuna nodded.
"Would you gather everyone?"
"Hai, we have more houseguests--"
"I know Hime-chan, I'm the Senshi of Time, remember? I see
the future."

AN: Here's Episode
2~~! I just want everyone to know that I don't write this fast,
but I have 6 episodes done already, so I'm just working on
putting them up so we can be on track ^-^
