Chapter 2 ~ Whispering Winds

~Uranus~

The breeze rustled the leaves and made the trees bend ever so slightly. The wind picked up and blew my skirt to the right, making me shiver ever-so-slightly.

My eyes gazed at the horizon, where I could just see the ocean. It made me think of her.

Michiru. I loved her, but we knew that our duties to our people and our princess made it impossible. Sometimes fate became the enemy, but I loved the princess like a sister, even though I'd only met her once.

The young Serenity's silver eyes (an: Yes SILVER. I think it makes Serenity more pure, plus I have this whole thing with the senshi being the incarnations of the gods, so SUE ME. [please don't!]) were beautiful and wise, but full of laughter and love as well. I was spellbound immediately, and, glancing at my right, I found that Michiru was as well. Serenity was worth being apart. She radiated innocence and vulnerability. She'd accepted us as friends without a second thought and wasn't bothered by the fact that I had my Space Sword in perfect view.

"Why would it bother me?" she'd asked when I'd commented, "I've been around people who hold weapons my whole life. Besides, you wouldn't hurt me."

"How do you know that?" Michiru had asked.

"Because you're good people," Serenity had replied, an innocently bewildered look on her face.

The words and her attitude had touched me.

The wind whispered something that brought me back to the here and now.

{Evil…}

I didn't blink. The wind had the scent of a spell on it, but it was too faint. The spell was not performed on Uranus. But where was it done then?

It was coming from the Southeast. At this time in my planet's revolution around the sun, we were Northwest from 3 planets: Mercury, Saturn, and Earth. (an: I am COMPLETELY making that up to fit the story. Uranus may NEVER be in that position with the other 3 planets, for all I know.)

The wind, I could sense, had not changed direction at all yet. It was coming from one of those planets.
