EPILOGUE
~oO?Oo~

//The heart is a bloom
Shoots up from the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town//

The Moon Kingdom was alight with every imaginable color, made even more brilliant by the mirror reflection on the water. People filled the rooms of the palace, among them, the Sailor and Zodiac Senshi. Libra stood at the back of the ballroom. This particular room brought back too many memories. She stood as she had two months before, watching the happy couples dance in the golden light.

//You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere//

She observed from afar as Gemini, Aquarius and Pisces fought over the last piece of chocolate. Leo and Antares ran across the floor; Antares was flailing her staff at Leo attempting to hit her as Leo ran off with one of Antares beloved stuffed animals. Libra chuckled to herself. She headed up the stairs to a balcony on the far end of the palace to think the past few months over.

//You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace//

Sota.... He had been gone for over two months now. Saturn would be able to revive him soon but... Then there were her friends. They had all grown so much in such a short time.

//It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away//

A light wind rustled her hair. Despite all the pain, this was the best time she'd had in her life. She had lost everything. Her home, her family, even some of her friends. But she'd never felt more free than she did right now, at this moment. She could do anything.

//You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination//

Libra started down the stairs to the back of the palace. She could do anything. There were so many things she had always wanted to do. The threat was over. She was free to come and go as she pleased, Lima Bean had told her so. As she made her way to the Time Gates, she looked back.

//You love this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you//

The palace was beautiful. Maybe too grand. She missed her home, her family, the things she had known so well before she became a Senshi. She made up her mind.

//It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day//

Libra continued down the hall then abruptly stopped. Some one was watching her. She looked behind her, but saw no one. She continued at her slow pace to her destination.

//Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case//

A lone figure at the back of the wall looked at Libra's retreating form longingly. Two months. Two months that felt like two thousand years. He smiled to himself sadly as he glanced at his feet and brushed back his dark hair across sharp Japanese features. The figure vanished into the darkness without a sound.

//See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you//

Libra stopped and looked out the window. There was the Earth, beautiful as ever amidst diamond stars and black nothingness. Behind a swirling cloud she could make out the form of China and the bright city lights of Beijing.

//See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light//

Another soft wind whispered on her ears as she stared at the giant marble dominating the sky. The sun was rising over Japan. The bright streak of gold sunlight swept across the east, illuminating its way across the sphere.

//And see the bird with the leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out//

It was over; Libra had done her job. What would life be like back in the 21st century? She hoped Pluto would be able to show her. Let her go back. But what of her friends here. Suddenly, Libra wasn't so sure any more.

//It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day//

"Libra?.." Pluto's form blocked the light.

"Hmm?"

"You weren't thinking of leaving, were you?"

"..."

//Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case//

Pluto touched Libra's shoulder.

"When I first became the Guardian of Time, I didn't want to do it. I wanted things to be the way they were before. But it was my destiny. Just like this is yours."

"I... I don't want to... I want things to be the way they were before."

Pluto nodded. "I know. Just try this for a while. If you don't like it you can go back."

//What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't have you can feel somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
Was a beautiful day//

Libra sat and thought. Pluto left the hall, unnoticed. It was true; she didn't need what she had before. She had her friends, and their love. That was all she needed now.

"Libra, come on!" Taurus' cheery voice echoed down the hall.

Libra looked up, then ran down the hall to join her friends. She had all she needed and all she wanted.
