Episode 4

{Only the Unexpected}

"I can't believe she's gone!" Serena said. She and the others had been terribly worried about Luna. They were holding a meeting at Raye's temple and were telling the others about their adventure into the digiworld. "What if she never comes back? What if…"

"Serena don't you have homework?" Raye taunted.

"Um, nothing that can't wait till later." Serena replied tugging on her pigtails. `Hmm, Luna's gone, so I don't have to listen to her. Not any more, <Serena, don't you think you should be studying.> Just freedom!'

After the meeting, Serena thought that she would go to the arcade and play games all day. "Man! Why can't I beat this?" Serena whined trying to win a Sailor V game. She'd won before, a lot, but she couldn't even defeat the first boss. "I'll show you!" she said talking to the game.

"Hi Serena!" came a voice from behind her. Serena didn't listen until the person tapped on her back, which causes her to jump.

"Game Over!" the arcade game said.

"Who dares!" she turned to face the person angrily. "Uh, I didn't know it was you, Lita! So…how are things going?" she said ashamed.

"Serena, the others and I have been watching you for awhile. You can't hide your pain. If Raye were here, she'd most likely tell you to quit slacking and help us think of a way to get Luna back!"

"But I can't think! That's why I came here! Thinking is you guy's department. Luna was right, all I can do is eat, sleep, play games, and joke." Serena said almost yelling it.

"Whoa! Whoa! Okay Serena, don't bite my head off now!" Lita said shocked. Serena bowed her head. Seconds later she lifted it again and laughed.

"Thanks Lita, I needed to understand that things will be okay. Besides, Luna is safe, she has the…the…what did they call themselves?"

"The digidestined." Lita replied.

"Yeah, she has them to protect her. I wish I had a digimon. A partner by my side in battle and someone who didn't always boss me around."

"But Serena, we have to get her back, her being around makes a big difference!" Lita pleaded.

"Okay, lets play another game while we think." Both Lita and Serena stuck a coin into the game and started to play.

"You really should try to get them to reveal themselves, before going into battle. It'll save you the trouble." Said a hawk with a very odd coloring and a symbol that looked like the moon starting to cover the sun. It sat perched on the foot of Maggie O'Conner's bed. Maggie was on her bed reading a book about war strategies.

"I know, but I also know it's important to get to know your enemy before getting into true armed combat. Besides, I'm only one. Sailor Moon has about 15 on her side. Even with my strongest attack I can't beat her alone. I need help!" She grabbed a notebook off her dresser and started flipping pages. Her green hair seemed to get brighter. "So far this is what I've learned!

Sailor Moon Sailor Venus Sailor Jupiter

Blond Blond Tall

Pigtails Down Tomboy

Clumsy Red Bow Brown Hair/Ponytail

Sailor Mercury Sailor Mars

Blueish Black Hair Black Hair

Short Long

Smart Maybe psychic

But of course that's just what I've learned from their appearance." Maggie folded up the notebook and placed it back where she got it.

"Nice work, but what if their appearance changes?" the bird asked.

"I've thought of that, and I think that I'm going to observe certain groups of girls at school. But I'm going to try to trick my ear friend Serena into helping.

At school the next day, Maggie sat with Serena in the library, telling her how she wanted her help with a survey. "Me? You want me to help you?" Serena asked, her ears not believing what she was hearing. Never in the whole week Maggie lived here had she talked or asked anyone anything. She'd only talk if someone talked to her first.

"Yes, I'm doing an extra-credit project on heredity and the difference on everyone's personality and physical appearance and determine what's inherited and what's not." Maggie explained. Serena still looked dumbfounded. Maggie let out a sigh of annoyance. "Just pass these out! Okay!"

"Shhh!" whispered the librarian from across the room.

"Sorry!" Maggie and Serena whispered.

"So are you going to help?" Maggie asked turning back to Serena. Serena grabbed the papers.

"Yes."

"Good. I'll hand out half and you can do the rest. But once you've handed it out to a class wait and pick it up when they're done and then go to the next class." Maggie then left.

Mr. Munakari passed out the science test that the class did the day before. When he finally got to Serena, (She had finished helping Maggie.), he grinned before putting down her paper. Serena'' face was dripping with sweat when she saw the flipped over paper. She was afraid to turn it over. But when she did, she was surprised to see what was on it. "An A-!" Serena thought. "Wait a moment let me see. This can't be mine. Let me check the name: Tsukino Serena. Yep! Names right. What about the hand writing, yep, that's correct too! Ohh my mom is going to be so proud of me." "Yes!" Serena said aloud, no longer able to hold in her joy. Everyone turned to her. When she noticed she blushed and sank down into her seat.

"Let's all give Serena a round of applause for her first good grade!" Molly said standing up and clapping. Soon the whole class was standing and clapping. Serena blushed an even deeper red. In among that, people were asking what she got on her test. That lasted until the bell rang.

"Daddy will Mommy come back?" little Diana asked walking up to the white cat named Artemis.

"I don't know." He looks up at Mina. "We must…"

"I know. I know. We're working on it." Mina replied pacing back and forth on Raye's porch.

"What's taking Darien and Meatball Head so long? They're late!" Raye said after sweeping the temple steeps. She placed the broom down and went to the others.

"Serena has been trying to bottle up all the pain and tries to say that she doesn't miss her, which we all know isn't true." Lita said stating her opinion.

"Besides Artemis and Diana, Serena seems to be really affected by this. Amy, can't you find a way back into the digital world?" Mina asked in hope.

"WAIT! Don't start without us!" Serena called coming up the path with Darien in tow. Followed by Kit, Learel, Sarah, and Nora. Artemis sighed in relief to see no sign of Maraki.

"Sooo…you finally decided to show up?" Raye says sarcastically, hands on her hips, to Serena.

"Huff! I …was…getting…the others!" Serena replied out of breath. Sarah and Nora were exhausted too. Darien, Kit, and Learel were a little, but they seemed better off.

"How far have you got? Anything about Luna?" Sarah asked finally able to speak.

"No, nothing. This digital world, I don't understand. It's just so strange." Amy replied looking up from her computer.

"To bad we couldn't just e-mail them asking them to open the door for us." Serena said in a matter-of-fact voice. Amy thought.

"That may just work!" Amy soon replied coming out of thought.

"WHAT?!" everyone said except Serena.

"You mean to tell us that Meatball Head could be right?" Raye asked not believing her ears. Serena moved toward her angrily.

"And why can't I be right?!" she replied.

"Because it's unheard of!" Raye replied.

"Oh, ya?" Serena challenged.

"Ya!" Raye replied. They get into a big fight.

"WOULD YOU TWO STOP FIGHTING FOR ONCE!?" Artemis yelled. Serena and Raye both stopped to look at him.

"Yes, my daddy's right. If you two don't stop fighting and start working together, we'll never get my mommy back." Diana said then burst into tears. Rini came over and picked her up and cuddled her to sleep.

"You two should be ashamed!" Rini said stomping her foot, but tried not to wake Diana.

"Ahh!" Amy soon cried. Everyone turned to her.

"What is it, little Water Sprit?" Learel asked.

"I don't know. I was typing a note to that Izzy person when my computer went blank and short circuited…I don't suppose any of you has any electronic skills?" Everyone was quiet for a time, until Nora stepped forward.

"Nora, I didn't know you had any electronic experience." Her twin said surprised. Nora just looked at her and smiled. She walked up to Amy.

"Hmm, let me see." She said examining the computer. "Raye do you have any tools?" she soon asked looking up from it to Raye.

"Ya some. What do you need?" she asked.

"A…" Nora was interrupted by a voice over the Sailor communicator.

"Scouts come quick. Need reinforcement!" Saturn's voice came through, but it sounded, as if even the most powerful of the Sailor Scouts needed help.

"Heather!" Rini cried, waking Diana.

"You girls better transform and assist her!" Artemis instructed.

"Yes, I'll stay here and try to repair Amy's computer. Maybe I'll get it fixed, but if you really need me, I'll be here." Nora said after finding a Philips screwdriver in her jacket pocket and started to unscrew the top to it.

"Okay." Serena said. "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!"

"MARS STAR POWER!"

"MERCURY STAR POWER!"

"VENUS STAR POWER!"

"JUPITER STAR POWER!"

"MOON PRISM POWER!" Darien pulled out his rose to become Tuxedo Mask.

"Aren't you going to transform, guys?" Jupiter asked Kit, Learel, and Sarah. Sarah looked at her sister.

"Go!" was all Nora said.

"Let's hit it gang!" Sarah then said. "AQUARIUS GEM POWER!"

"SUN GEM POWER!"

"EARTH GEM POWER!"

" I hope you'll be all right!" Aquarius says to her sister. Nora only glares and holds up her transformation pen before setting to work.

"Where is the rest?! My plan isn't going according to plan!" Eclipse asked Zorin.

"Ah, is poor little green haired demoness upset?" said a voice from behind her. She turned around to see a tall guy in a black shirt and black pants, he had long black hair and deep blue eyes. She stood there fearless, in the background she could hear the sounds of battle raging only a few feet away. He spoke once more. "How rude of me, I never did introduce myself did I? I'm Kinister, general of Dark-Con's first ranking general of the Negaverse."

"Nice speech, but as you can clearly see, I'm in the middle of a very important operation." Eclipse replied.

"The sailor scouts? If I'm not mistaken, you're one too." Kinister tried to take her hand, but she slapped it away.

"I'm nothing like them!" she said doing so. Kinister only smiled.

"I see. So will you work for the Negaverse?"

"I work for no one!" she replied. "And if you excuse me, I'm quite busy." At this, she turns to see how the outer scouts were handling her monster.

"Maybe you don't, for now. But I promise you, by the time this whole thing is over, you'll belong to the Negaverse, as will the whole world!" he said from behind her before disappearing.

"That guy has a lot of nerve talking to you like that, Eclipse." Zorin said flying back down to her from a near by tree.

"Fool, he doesn't want me as an enemy. And he really pissed me off!" From there, she and Zorin watched the battle that waged before them.

"WORLD SHAKING!"

"DEADLY SCREAM!"

"DEEP SUBMERGE!" Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune called. Saturn was frozen in a thick block of ice and was too weak to break it. Woolly, a mammoth like monster seemed even too strong for the outer scouts.

"Is there anything that will hurt this thing?" Neptune asked. Woolly prepared to attack again.

"ICE CRUSHER!" This time Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were flung backward. Uranus hitting a phone post, Neptune hitting a tree, and Pluto slid across the ground, leaving a shallow ditch where she landed. Each one was out cold.

"We're coming!" Moon called running to help her older friends. "Pluto! Neptune! Uranus!"

"Saturn!" Chibi Moon called running up to her ice covered friend. "Mars, can you melt the ice?" Chibi Moon cried.

"I'll try! Mars Fire Ignite!" two balls of flame shot at the frozen block, causing it to fly in many different directions. Saturn, no longer supported by the ice, falls on her knees and then to the ground. Chibi Moon bends down and hugs her.

"You're okay! You're okay!" she repeated.

"Rini." Saturn said weakly.

"Yes?"

"Thanks." Chibi Moon blushes.

"I guess he high-tailed it out of here?" Uranus interjected after walking up. She and the others surrounded the two younger scouts.

"Ya I guess. I wonder if Nora ever finished my computer?" Amy said, more to herself than to the others.

"Don't know, but I wish I could have had a shot at him. I've been looking forward to a fight! Jupiter said hitting her hand with her fist.

"You may still get that chance!" Came a voice from behind them. They all turned.

"Sailor Eclipse!" they all said except the outer scouts.

"Yes, Sailor Eclipse." She replied sarcastically. "I really don't know which is worse. The thought that you defeated my illusion. Or your pitiful compassion. `One for all and all for one' that's our motto isn't it? Like the movie the three musketeers. You'd sacrifice your selves to save the others, and they will die to keep you alive. Maybe I should test that sometime, but not now. Now, I'm just too tired," she turned to leave, but before she did, she said over her shoulder, "Don't worry. You'll see me again soon, very soon." With that she left.

"Rrr! She certainly has a lot of nerve!" Mars said steamed.

"Well we aren't doing much here. Let's get back to the temple!" Venus suggested.

"Okay!" the others replied.

Back at the temple the girls stood around Nora, who had finished Amy's computer and was now listening to what happened. "She said she'll see us soon, then she left. She really needs a make over. But I have to admit, she does look familiar. Just can't place it though." Serena said, Darien stood beside her.

"Now that you mention it, she does seem familiar." Mina said.

"I suggest that you stop worrying about familiar faces and focus more on your duties!" Serena quickly turned to the voice and saw a black cat with a crescent moon imbedded in her fur.

"LUNA!" she cried running up to the cat, picking her up and holding her tight, scared to let go.

"What happened? We've been worried." Artemis asked Luna stepping forward. Luna looked at Artemis then to the others. Her glaze ended when she spotted Diana again asleep in Rini's arms. Luna smiled.

"Well, I've been in the digital world for about a week…"

"A week!?" the girls replied shocked.

"But Luna, you've been gone only seven hours!" Raye said.

"Amy! You've got a message!" Nora said after testing the computer to see if it worked.

"Who's it from?" Sarah asked as Nora handed the computer to Amy.

"It's from Izzy!"

"Izzy!?" the inner scouts say together.

"Whose Izzy?" Learel asked.

"He's…" Rini started, but was interrupted by Amy who began to read the message aloud.

"Dear Amy,

I regret that I couldn't have contacted you on a better basis, but I must tell you that when we returned your friend's cat, several digimon got sucked in through the vortex we sent her through. Among them are Gatomon, Patomon, and Palmon. They had gotten to close to the vacuum power of the vortex. I'm terribly sorry, but Kari, T.K., Mimi, and the rest of us would be really grateful if you help us. I estimate that a total of twenty digimon had come through. Most of them are virus type, otherwise evil. I've got to go. Bye.

Izzy."

"Twenty? How are we going to find twenty?"

"Lets start by finding Gatomon, Patomon, and Palmon." Rini said after her mother's panic attack. "Then have them help us look for the rest." The scouts continued to discuss the issue. While across town…

"Where are we?" Gatomon said slowly, trying to take in her surroundings. She and her two fellow digimon didn't quite understand what was going on.

"We're in T.K.'s world! T.K. T.K.?… Where's T.K.?"

"Mimi!" Palmon shouted. They started to feel the fear running down their spines.

"Palmon! Patomon! Over here!" Gatomon shouted from behind some bushes. Palmon and Patomon went to join her. "Look." there on the ground was T.K., Kari, and Mimi's digivices. "WE must keep them safe." Gatomon picked them up and handed Palmon and Patomon theirs, while she kept hers. "Somewhere out there are people that can help us, we just need to find them." Gatomon said to herself in hope.
