Chapter one: the letter

Serena climbed the latter again to the attic.She went over to the table were she left the diary.She hadn't noticed that there was a dresser there,too.

She opened one of the drawers and saw a letter to a woman named Cecily Addams and a key.She picked up the letter and the key.She hesitantly opened

the letter and read it.

My Dearest Cecily,

Life is incomplete without you here.Soon I shall return to you and we will be wed.I took time off from packing so I could write to you.I will be there

soon.I know little about your family even after you and I were engaged.I hear rumors that your family is as wealthy as mine.I hope that you will be waiting for me.

I'm pretty sure that you have plenty of suitors.But I love you and know that you do,too.

Serena was confused.Who was Cecily and better yet,who was Jason?Serena walked over to some boxes and a few suitcases.Unfortunately she tripped

just as she reached them.She grabbed the middle box to steady herself but wound up making all the boxes fall.She got up.Instead of seeing a wall she wound up

seeing a door.
