Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Dumbledore's Niece ❯ fears ( Chapter 16 )
~* Fears *~
Bam! "Come on! Wake up!" shrieked a voice. Uni's eyes snapped opened and she sat up, her eyes darting throughout the room in panic and awareness. But then, she saw it was only Hotaru that had come in to wake her up, so she fell back on her bed, ready to embrace dreams once again.
Hotaru walked to her bed and shook Uni by the shoulders. "Uni-hime! Hime!! You can't fall asleep again!" she whined. "You have to get up!"
Uni pushed Hotaru's hands away and mumbled, "Give me a reason why and I will get up, Hota."
"Umm…Umm…" Hotaru started thinking, putting two fingers on her chin as she thought. "Ah ha! Because Malfoy is on his way here!"
"Whatever you say, Hota," Uni said in her pillow. She had stayed up late last night, coming up with ways to how her father would be able to block Pluto from the Gates. They couldn't be left unguarded too long and he must have known that. Sailor Pluto had been going back and forth from the Gates and Hogwarts throughout the day to make sure nothing had disturbed it. But now, she could no longer get there to check, which meant big trouble for them.
"I'm serious!" whined Hotaru and pouted. "Uni-hime! I saw him on the way here! I swear!"
"It is not nice to swear," yawned Uni as she sat up once again. Her eyes were still sleepy from the lack of sleep. She still hadn't registered in her head what Hotaru had said about Malfoy either.
"Hime! Hime!!" shouted Hotaru, beginning to shake her awake again when Uni had fallen back on her bed once again but this time, her face was on her pillow, "Wake up!!"
Uni just batted away her arms and fell into a deep slumber once again. Hotaru tried waking her up, but to her disappointment, she couldn't. Hotaru sighed. Malfoy was coming up here, that part was true. One of the reasons she had rushed up here. The other reason was because she had wanted her hime to teach her how to play Quidditch.
'Oh well' thought Hotaru, shrugging, 'If Malfoy comes in here and she isn't gone, not my fault. I warned her.'
Hotaru began to leave Uni's room when she heard her say. "Matte! Did you say Malfoy is coming up here?" Uni asked. It had seemed that the Scout of Silence's statement had finally gotten through to her head.
"Hai, hime," replied Hotaru, smirking, though she knew Uni couldn't see her because her back was turned towards her.
Uni mumbled a few choice words under her breath and yawned as she rubbed her eyes and got out of bed. She wore her usual clothing for bed, which consisted of a tank top and pajama pants. She quickly walked to her dresser and pulled out some clothes. Since there weren't any classes today, she had decided to wear any robes but just her regular clothes instead. She took out some black flared pants and a white sweater.
Uni rushed into the bathroom to put her clothes on and take a real quick shower, leaving an amused Scout of Silence behind. Hotaru grinned at Uni's "antics" and left her room. As she went downstairs, she saw Malfoy coming up smirking smugly and his two goons following behind him.
"You, stop," demanded Malfoy seconds after she had passed him. Hotaru frowned and scowled as she turned around.
"My name is not You," she seethed, "My name is Hotaru. H-O-T-A-R-U. Can you say that!?"
Malfoy simply smirked. "Fine, Hotaru," he said, emphasizing her name. "Is Uni up there?"
Hotaru scowled and said, "Why should I tell you? Besides, you don't know her password so you can't get in." With that, she stuck her tongue out at him and skipped away before he had a chance to retort with something smart.
Malfoy narrowed his eyes down at her as she walked away from him, but returned to whatever he was going to do. He walked up the stairs, Crabbe and Goyle following behind him, and they soon reached her door. The door was one of its kinds probably. It was entirely black and twinkling stars could be seen. They were all bright as if someone or something was sustaining them and giving them hope to live. And so they twinkled.
But then, he frowned. Hotaru was right. Well he was thinking more along the line of, that short pale girl was right. He didn't know the password. After all, he hadn't been in that room for a long time. But what could it hurt if he tried the password again? And so he tried.
"Cosmos," he muttered. Nothing happened. Oh well, it was worth the try. Suddenly, the door opened and out came a running Uni. To his luck, she didn't see him in front of the door and by the time she did, they were both on the ground, her over him.. She blinked and got ready to get up, but he got a good grip on her arms so she wouldn't go anywhere.
"Let go, Draco," seethed Uni, glaring at him.
Malfoy smirked. "How about...no?"
"Let go!" she growled and her eyes flashed a deep red for a couple seconds, startling him. Those seconds were enough for her to stand up and run downstairs before he realized she was gone.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* < p class="MsoNormal"> Serena was sitting on the window ledge in the Gryffindor's common room and she was looking out the window. She was hugging her legs to her chest. She couldn't get a wink of sleep last night and hadn't gotten any sleep. Her forehead was touching the cool window glass and her eyes looked outside. It was already morning and all she could think of was what Setsuna, her guardian had told her the night before.
Serena was disturbed. Setsuna had told her about the problem at the time gates. Normally, Setsuna had said, she wouldn't have told Serena for fear she might worry over this all day, but seeing how Uni knew...she would have told Serena anyways. So here she was, worrying. What kind of power did Voldemort have? What was its limit?
Serena sighed. She hoped her friends back home were all right. Sometimes, throughout the day, she would have this weird pain as if someone was pinching her heart. She couldn't help but feel that something had gone wrong somewhere and that the attack last night wasn't the last for them all. The moon-hime didn't want to lose anyone. And so she hoped that no one would get hurt or killed in this battle. But then again, she had hoped this in many of her battles before and had lost her scouts again and again. And she cried, again and again.
She hoped she didn't have to go through that. All she could do was hope and maybe, just maybe, it might work. Serena sighed. She was very tired. Yet, she didn't want to go to sleep. For some reason, her heart told her to ask someone, anyone that would know on the other scouts' status at this minute.
"Serena?" someone asked, touching her shoulder and shaking her out of her reverie. She turned her head and saw Harry Potter with a concerned look on his face. "What's wrong? Why are you down here?"
Serena sighed and looked towards the window again. "Serena?" Harry asked again.
"It's nothing important," said Serena.
Harry sighed and sat opposite of her on the windowsill. He stole a look of her and turned his head back towards the window. He looked outside as she did. Harry looked up and said, minutes later, "Serena, something's wrong with you and don't deny it. Can't you tell me what's wrong? Don't you trust me?"
Serena flinched when he asked that last question. Of course she trusted him. She trusted him with her life. "Of course I trust you!" she cried, looking at him in the eye. "I would trust you with my entire life! It's just that..." She slouched and without her noticing, tears began coursing down her face.
"Just what, Sere?" Harry whispered, taking her chin in his hands and making her look up at him. "Tell me. I want to know. I'll share your pain with you so you don't have to go through this by yourself."
"I…Harry…" tears came down her face, unwillingly, "I don't want…anyone to be killed in this fight. I've lost so many during my past fights and I don't…want it…to happen…again…" she choked out.
Harry gathered her in his arms and began to rock her back and forth, as his hands ran up and down her back to comfort her, "Shh…don't worry. Everything will be fine. This is one fight you won't lose anyone," he said, softly.
"I hope so. Oh, dear Selene, I hope so, Harry," sobbed Serena, quietly.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* < p class="MsoNormal"> Uni ran hallway after hallways. She didn't know exactly why she was still running because she knew for a fact that she had lost Malfoy a long time ago. But why was she still running? She had this horrible feeling. Something that hurt her. Uni then started, running slower and finally to a stop. She looked around and saw that she had stopped to a particular door.
The door opened as if the person behind the door knew she was there. Uni looked up but couldn't really see who was there. Her vision had become blurry, making it impossible to see who it was there in front of her. Her head was pounding from who knows what. Her chest hurt from something and she felt dizzy.
"Help me," she croaked, before falling unconscious.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* < p class="MsoNormal"> Serena had fallen asleep in Harry's arms when she had ceased her crying. He had no intention of moving because he was afraid that she'd wake up. But soon, he fell asleep too with her in his embrace. A while later, Haruka and Michiru had decided to wake up and come downstairs to head towards the Great Hall and get some breakfast.
Due to her sharp eye, Haruka saw Harry and her hime asleep on the windowsill. Her usually anger of anyone going near her hime and especially the nerve of someone touching her flared up again. But, Michiru had also noticed the two and immediately put her hand on Haruka's shoulder and gave her cousin a deep glare that said 'Don't you dare'.
Haruka calmed down a little and mumbled under her breath like she usually did. It's not that she didn't approve of Harry or anything. She did, well, a little and at least more than Darien right now. But hey, no one can shake off a reflex in such a short amount of time. Not her anyways.
"Oh, don't they look so cute together?" whispered Michiru to Haruka.
Haruka scoffed and crossed her arms with a scowl. "Cute? Pshh, yea right," she answered, earning yet another slap from the cousin she loved oh so much.
"Don't be such a negative person, Haruka," she scowled herself. Then her expression softened, "But you know, now that Darien has chosen Raye for his queen and Moon-hime has chosen Harry for her king, the future has changed for both of them."
"And all of us," agreed Haruka. "Do you think it's for the best? To have them change their destiny like this when originally, their love for each other in the past was undeniable and as were their future?"
"Yes," replied Michiru and Haruka turned to look at her, "Because then, we know they are truly happy. Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity's love was back then. One thousand years ago, they loved each other enough to break the rules and still see each other, even though it was forbidden. Today, they are no longer the prince and princess back then, but Darien and Serena. They no longer have the love they shared back then, so there is no reason why they should hold onto it now. They would have been unhappy."
"You're right, I guess," said Haruka. "Well, are you hungry?"
"Of course, what a silly question Haruka," replied Michiru. But, before they could leave the Gryffindor Tower, Setsuna, Professor McGonagall and Snape stepped through with a look of emergency on their faces. To say they were shock was the least of it.
"What's wrong, Setsuna-chan?" Michiru asked.
"Something is wrong with Uni-hime," she replied.
"Nani!?" shouted Haruka, "What's wrong with her!?"
"That we do not know yet, Miss Tenou," McGonagall said, "So, please, do not yell. It is still early morning and many students are sleeping."
Much to Harry and Serena's dismay, they heard Haruka's loud shouting and had woken up. Serena blushed only slightly when she realized she had been sleeping on Harry. But, Harry didn't seem to mind a bit. They quickly untangled and looked over towards the group of teacher and senshis.
"Why the yelling, Haruka?" asked Serena.
"Erm," was all she got as a replied. So Serena looked at everyone else for an answer. It seemed only Professor Severus Snape felt like answering her.
"Miss Shields has taken ill," he replied in his usual cold voice. But Harry, being used to hearing it since it had been used towards him many times, noticed that his voice had a bit of worry in it.
"Nani!?" cried Serena, "What's wrong with her!? Is she okay!?"
"Moon-hime," said Setsuna calmly as she placed a hand on her hime's shoulder. "I may not be able to see the future no longer, but I assure you, her illness will past."
"If you say so, Setsuna," said Serena. "I trust you."
Setsuna smiled. "Come, hime, if you would like to, we can go see her and see how she is fairing."
"Can we!?" said Serena, turning towards her guardian.
"Hai," Setsuna nodded and turned towards Haruka, Michiru, and Harry, "You may come along too, if you would like." The three nodded and the seven of them left the Gryffindor Tower to see Uni.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* < p class="MsoNormal"> Uni woke up from her slumber with a still huge headache. Not only that, she was still kind of dizzy. She groaned as she clutched her head, trying to make it stop the dizziness. 'Stupid…' she started in her head, but didn't get to finish her sentence because someone had barged in the room, wherever she was, and was literally choking her.
"Ack!!"
"I'm so glad you're all right!" cried Serena as she hugged her and then slowly loosened her arms. Now, she was really crying. She had been afraid she would lose one more friend.
"Why are you crying?" demanded Uni. "There is nothing to cry about."
"I just…I thought I was going to lose you…" whispered Serena, "Like everyone else…"
Uni snapped her head towards Uni. "Everyone else?" she echoed. She scrunched her face and said, "But everyone is alive, hime. What are you talking about?"
Setsuna came forward and answered instead as Serena was about to speak up. "Have you not felt anything changing the past week, hime?" she asked.
"Maybe…"
"Serena has already felt it," Setsuna continued, "You have much more duties then she does, and will not have felt it right away. I believe your illness has something to do with this. Concentrate and maybe, you will find out."
Uni frowned and did as told. She closed her eyes to concentrate and a black aura surrounded her. Then, the aura changed to white and soon back to black. The aura changed back and forth like that. Then her eyes snapped open. Her eyes were cold as ever and hate coursed through her veins.
"So…that's what I felt," said Uni, "…"
"What did you feel?" asked Harry.
"…The scouts I sent back to Japan," she said through clenching teeth. "He has them!"
"Who has them?" he questioned, still confused.
But before Uni could answer him, Snape spoke up and answered himself. "The Dark Lord, Voldemort, has them Potter. He has the scouts and they're under his control now."
