Darien is a vampire looking for his mate. guess who it is? The story will be set in the silver millenium era. Serena is the princess of the moon. There is no Queen Beryl, or destruction of the moon in this story!

Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor moon! though I wish I did.

Eternal Lover

The Prince of vampires, Darien Trine, sat lazily on his throne. Bored sapphire eyes scanned the few other occupants in the vast room. It had been over a 100 years since he had seen colors, or felt any emotion whatsoever except for the need to kill, the need for blood. The elder vampires in his company were there to persuade their Prince to find a mate, one to bring light to his darkness.
"My Prince, Our people cry out in the dark for your loss of feeling. They urge you to seek your partner. All you must do is call out your need for her, and she will come to you.", said Olivia,a vampire who had seen nine long centuries pass her by. She was one of the most respected, one of the most beautiful. Her ebony locks ended at her shoulders in curls while her golden eyes rested upon her Lord.
Other Elders nodded their heads in full agreement with Olivia. Their eyes pleaded desperately with their Prince. Darien sighed heavily and shoved his fingers through his jet black hair that fell into his eyes. He hated being confronted like this, to be put on the spot. Yet his soul burned for it's other half. It begged him to call out for her, his light. He rose from his chair and looked up through a window to gaze at the moon. It was a crescent and shone brightly down on him.
"Alright, I will think on what you have said, and I will call out for her. I have missed seeing the color of the night sky, or of the crimson colored blood that I drink. Olivia, Accompany me to my study. I wish to look at the ancient scrolls and require your assistance in translating them. I do not want the mating ritual to go wrong if I should succeed in calling her to me." Darien's lips curled upwards into a smile as he spoke, his fangs flashing into sight.
Olivia curtsied to her lord while the other Elders left, a triumphant smile curving all of their lips upwards. Their Prince had finally agreed to fulfill his duty to his crown. He would seek out his mate, and their clan would have a Princess once more. Olivia sighed softly to herself, too long had her beloved Prince been cast in darkness, never to know love or happiness. She vowed that come morning, Darien would have his mate in his arms.

Darien and Olivia poured over the dusty scrolls for several hours until Darien was one hundred percent satisfied that the ritual would go smoothly. Across from each other at the desk, Darien held Olivia's eyes, his voice filled with hope,
" Thank you Olivia for helping me. Promise me, that when I find her, you will make her feel comfortable here. I want this process to be easy for her."
Olivia bowed her head, speaking in calm dulcet tones, " It would be my honor, Prince. But please be warned. We do not know who she will. She may not be one of us. Should this happen, the ritual may be a little difficult for her. Be gentle, Darien."
Darien flashed her a grin, nodding at the information she relayed to him. He promised her that he would handle this carefully, also promising to return in the morning. The Prince bid Olivia a goodnight before leaving the study to go above ground. He made his way through the winding tunnels underneath the earth until he reached the surface. Darien glanced up at the beautiful moon, smiling faintly. He took his place by a willow tree that swayed lightly in the night breeze. Bringing his wrist to his lips, he sank his sharp white fangs into his flesh. Droplets of blood dripped to the cold earth once he withdrew his fangs. His sapphire eyes closed as he thought of seeing in color, and being able to feel again.
"I call to you, light of my darkness. Come to your mate. Ease his pain. Come to me"

A golden crescent moon glowed on the forehead of a young woman resting in her bed. With a jolt, she sat up quickly, panting for air. She had heard a voice calling out for her, the owner of the voice, a man, who needed her. The Moon Princess stood shakily from her bed and made her way to the balcony. Since reaching adulthood, the Princess had felt like part of her soul was missing. Her heart ached all the time, and for a moment, she acknowledged that the man who's voice she heard must have an aching heart as well. Breathing in air, her baby blue eyes settled on the planet Earth in contemplation. She had never been to the colorful planet but she had heard the stories. Her mother had never let her travel there, in fear that the Princess's innocence would be corrupted. The Princess was a pure being, completely untainted. As her cerulean eyes watched the earth that night, she sensed that something was telling her to go there. She felt the need to be there, that something bad would happen if she didnt go. The Princess shut her eyes tight, and when she opened them, she was on Earth under a beautiful willow tree. As her eyes focused, they fell on a god of a man. His startling blue eyes nailed her to the spot. The breath was knocked out of her small body from the sight of him.
"Hello, my mate. Come to me. It is I, the one that called you," Darien smiled even more at the ethereal vision in front of him. He could see her. Her blonde hair, glittered like gold to him, and her eyes sparkled like blue diamonds. All he could do was smile over his wonderful luck.
The Princess, with her ghostly white gown flowing around her body in the wind, could only stand there in utter shock, gaping at this man. Who was he!? Why was she being called here? What was a mate!? ,her mind raced wildly. So lost in her thoughts, she barely noticed Darien creeping closer to her.
