Chapter 1
Serena searched through her closet for something to wear. She was about to go on a date with her boyfriend Darien. They had been going out for over two years now. Serena truly loved Darien with all her heart and soul she would do anything for him. Clothes were scattered all over the floor of her room and on her bed. One of her best friends Mina sat on the bed next to a pile of clothes, watching Serena run around her room.
"Serena why are you making such a big deal on what you’re going to wear? You go on dates with Darien all the time so what's different about this one?" Mina said.
"Well, Darien told me this was going to be a special date and to dress up." Serena said excitedly. "I can't find...here it is!"
"There what is?" Mina asked.
"The dress I've been looking for. You'll see."
Serena walked into her bathroom closing the door behind her. Mina and Serena were the only ones in her house. Serena's family had went on some sort of vacation Serena didn't want to go so she stayed home and Mina was staying with her to keep her company. There was a knock on the door. Mina walked over and opened it. Darien stood infront of her. He was wearing black dress pants and a silk dress shirt; in his right hand were a bunch of red and white roses. Mina stepped to the side so Darien could walk in closing the door behind him.
"Darien you look great." Mina committed.
"Thank you. Where is Serena?" Darien said.
"I'm right here."
Serena walked out of her room. She was wearing a white dress that stopped above her knees with spaghetti straps. It sort of fanned out at the bottom. She wore a silver moon necklace around her neck with matching earrings. Her hair hung down over her shoulders. Darien couldn't help but stare. She was beautiful; she looked like a goddess, or an angel who had just gotten its wings. Serena smiled at him.
"Wow." Darien was in a daze. "You look...words cannot describe how beautiful you look Serena."
"Yes, Serena you look awesome." Mina said.
"Thank you." Was all Serena could manage to say her cheeks turning red.
"These are for you."
Darien handed Serena the roses. She could feel her heart melt as she took the roses. Serena inhaled their wonderful sweet scent.
"They're lovely, thank you Darien." Serena couldn't stop smiling she handed the roses to Mina who put them in a vase for her.
"Let's go we don't want to be late."
"Late for what?" Serena looked at him quizzically.
"You'll see it’s a surprise.”
Darien held out his arm and Serena took it as they walked out of the house. Mina smiled as she watched Darien and Serena leave from the door. She walked back in closing the door behind her. Darien opened the door to his red Mustang allowing Serena to sit down. He closed the door walking over to the drivers side he got in and drove off. They rode in silence. Serena wondered to herself where Darien was taking her and why he had asked her to dress up. Darien stopped infront of a huge building. Him and Serena both got out of the car.
"Why are we here?" Serena asked.
"Dinner." Darien replied simply.
They walked inside the building, Serena's arm laced with Darien's. Darien led Serena to a elevator. Serena didn't ask questions she just kept quiet. They got off the elevator. They were on the roof. It was a beautiful night. The moon was full and stars lit the night sky. In a corner near the edge, was a table set for two with white candles in the middle of the table. A perfect view of the city. Serena was speechless she thought it was so romantic. She looked up at the sky the stars seemed to dance in her ocean blue eyes.
"Do you like it?" Darien asked.
"I love it Darien!" Serena smiled.
Serena sat in the chair and Darien sat down across from her. The food was already set on the table. They ate and talked, enjoying each others company.
"Is there a reason you wanted me all dressed up?" Serena finally asked.
"Well...maybe...maybe not." Darien smiled.
Serena couldn't figure out what he was up to. He was being so secretive and mischievous. They finished eating then headed back down to his car. Serena started to get in his car but Darien stopped her.
"We're not riding in my car right now. This is going to be our ride"
Darien pointed to a white carriage and two white horse. The driver was sitting up front dressed in white holding the horses reins. Serena squealed in delight and got inside the carriage. Darien smiled getting in after sitting down beside her. They rode around for a while until Darien told the driver to stop. They were in the park infront of a huge lake. Darien told the driver he wouldn't be long. Serena and Darien stood infront of the lake face to face. Darien wrapped his strong arms around Serena hugging her tight. Serena hugged back melting into his arms.
"I love you so much Serena. You mean the world to me." Darien whispered into her ear.
"I love you too, Darien." Serena smiled at him.
Darien pulled away and Serena looked up at him.
"Serena we have been together for over two years. I loved you from the first time I layed eyes on you. You mean so much to me and I want to be with you forever and much longer. I love you with my heart and soul."
Darien got down on one knee pulling out a black velvet box out of his pocket. He opened it revealing a gold ring with a 18 karot diamond ring in the middle Serena stared at the ring tears glistening in her eyes.
"Serena Tsukino, will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes Darien I will!" Serena exclaimed.
Darien slipped the ring on her finger then stood up. Serena jumped into his arms hugging him tight. Serena had always dreamed of the day Darien would purpose to her.
"Oh Darien i'm so happy." Serena said tears of joy rolling down her cheeks. Darien wiped them away.
"I'm happy too, Serena."
Darien whispered. Darien moved his face down close to hers. Serena moved up closer to him. Darien wrapped his arms around Serena's waist. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he kissed her lovingly. Darien broke the kiss and smiled at her, Darien returned the smile.
"It's getting late I should take you home now." Darien said.
"Yes, I guess your right. I can't wait until we tell everyone."
Serena held up the ring looking at it. Darien nodded and headed back to the carriage lacing him arm with Serena's. The carriage stopped infront of his car. Darien helped Serena out of the carriage and into his car. They rode back to Serena's house in silence. When they got back Darien walked her to the door. Serena looked up at Darien smiling. He bent down and kissed her softly and tenderly on the lips. Serena melted returning the kiss.
"I love you Serena." Darien said.
"I love you too Darien. But what if-"
Darien looked into Serena's eyes and could see something was bothering her. He could see it in her big beautiful blue eyes. Which looked like tears would fall at any second.
"Serena?"
"What if no one approves? What if my mom and dad won't allow us to get married?" Serena began to cry Darien hugged her.
"Don't worry Serena either way we will get married. I'll come by in the morning okay?"
"All right Darien, goodnight."
"'Night Serena." Darien kissed her once more then she turned and walked into the house
