Rating: R (It doesn't contain violence but the story is about love affairs and will have to talk about adult situations. This isn't a hentai/lemon fanfic because it doesn't contain any nasty descriptions. Like Sailor Mac would say, this is a Sexual Romance fanfic and if you are a reader who cannot handle these kinds of stories, then it is best that you do not read it. There aren't that many sexual situations either. I guess you will all find out as you read the story.)
Disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN SAILORMOON OR ANY OF THE SM CHARACTERS. NAOKO DOES. There will also be characters that belong to Colette's book "Gigi and the Cat"; they also do not belong to me. Other names are created by moi!
AN: I though of writing this fanfic after reading this short story by a French author named Colette. There might be some people who could get offended by this fanfic because there will be a relationship situating between a sixteen and twenty five year old. Today that is considered illegal, but this story is set in the turn of the century. The 1900s. Women as young as sixteen could easily be married off to men twice their age. If anyone if offended by this fanfic then I suggest that they do not read it. It is a fanfic about the true meaning of love. Darien will not be the typical mean but oh so dangerously handsome billionaire. He will still be handsome and rich of course, but at the same time he is courteous to people. Now that I have said my peace, Ladies and Gentlemen...may I present to you my second fan fiction... "From Girl to Mistress!"

ways of the Parisian society.
Will she ever grow up to be a lovely mistress just like her elders?
Welcome to turn of the century Paris...
It may be the year nineteen hundred, but Paris still stays the same
with it's society frolicking around for what the city practically stands for...
LOVE.
It is a place where love affairs are taken seriously...
And happy marriages are not.
It is a place where there are people who will not...
And do not marry.

Characters:
Sereni ty Lunar- A 16-year-old tomboy who is trained to be an elegant courtesan by her grandmothers. Growing up poor, she was raised mostly by her grandmamma because her opera singer mother had neglected her responsibilities. Serenity doesn't agree with the love that most Parisians dwell on. She believes that there is more out there than the type of love she had been lectured about by her elders.
Darien Lachaille- A billionaire at the young age of 25, thanks to his prosperity in the sugar business. Aside from sugar, he also earns heartily from his productive investments. Darien is known world wide because of his vast fortune and his vast number of mistresses who always ends up on the front page of society gossip magazines all over the world. Darien would often visit Serenity and her Grandmama's apartment for company because he is bored of his life. Serenity's place is the only place where he finds much amusement.
Madame Alvarez (Grandmama)- Serena's grandmother. Alvarez is not her real last name. It is the family name of the first lover she ever took. She raised Serenity to have a mind of her own despite the fact that she would want to see Serenity live in complete luxury as a gentleman's mistress. Both she and her sister train Serenity with lessons of etiquette so Serena may not turn out to be just like her mother.
Aunt Alicia- Serena's grandaunt is also her grandmama's sister. Alicia is in charge of teaching Serenity her etiquette lessons. She finds that Serena is lacking in the intelligence department when it comes to manners. No matter how hard it is to teach Serenity, Alicia will not give up on teaching Serena the right way from eating a lobster, to choosing only the first rate jewelry even if they come from men who belong to the new rich department.
Honore Lachaille- Darien's uncle who is a little older than Serena's grandmamma. He and Madame Alvarez was once involved in a serious love affair. Their relationship was destroyed due to infidelity...Honore's last tryst with a beautiful Opera singer. Honore is still a single man, taking up the occupation of a lover. At his age he still favours starting colourful affairs with younger women. Marriage in his position is out of the question.
Camille Dalleray- One of the most beautiful and scandalous women in Paris. She is Darien's mistress even though she is 2 years older than him.
Veronique' Lunar- Serenity's mother. Veronique took up singing lessons all her life only to be one of the unknown actresses in all the plays that she had participated in the Opera. She rarely spends time with Serenity since she is busy trying to land a starring role in the opera. Madame Alvarez and Aunt Alicia had given up hopes on making her a courtesan long ago when she decided that Opera was her life.

Chapter 1
Paris 1900
"GRANDMAMA, I'M HOME!"
A blonde girl of sixteen happily skipped to the kitchen where Madame Alvarez was busy heating up the leftover honeyed ham and some stale baguettes in the oven.
"Serenity where have you been?" The old woman asked as she eyed the appearance of the young girl in front of her. "You know that it's a Tuesday today! You'll have to be at your Aunt Alicia's in five minutes!"
"Ooohh you're right! I forgot all about it!"
"Well you can't go looking like that!" The older woman replied as she again inspected Serena's appearance.
Serena was wearing her old red plaid dress suit. It was five sizes too small. The billowing skirt hugged tightly to her slim waist and barely reached the knees of her long white stocking clad legs. Her jacket reached just about the bottom of her bosoms hugging her newly developed curves, and the sleeves could go no further than her elbows. Her blouse had turned from white to beige through time. She was in dire need of a new outfit, but they didn't have enough to provide her with new dresses. Old or new, the style of Serenity's dress can never diminish her beauty.
Beyond that tomboyish appearance was an exquisite goddess, ready to conquer men's hearts, and their beds as well. This was the reason why both her grandmamma and her Aunt Alicia do not take her etiquette lessons lightly. Both women are planning on giving Serenity a life that they both had so cherished during their younger years. That is the life of a courtesan. It is a life full of luxury, beautiful clothes, traveling and not to mention...LOVE. Making love is an art that most Parisians deem important. Love is a taste of heaven itself.
"Go wear your green coat!" Madame Alvarez ordered Serenity as she picked up a brush on their dining table for the task of smoothening Serena's messed up curls.
"I hate this coat grandmamma, it makes my legs look even longer!"
"Well it is high time that your Aunt Alicia provided you with a new wardrobe." She replied as she began the task of brushing Serena's hair. "You should probably give her some hints about it for I am tired of altering your old dresses just so they could fit you.
A high-pitched screech suddenly filled the peaceful room.
"Mama's home early." Serena replied as she glanced at the door to her mother's room which was quickly shut by Madame Alvarez to silence the racket coming from her daughter's voice warm ups.
"I'm quite surprised that they still hadn't kicked her out of the Opera! Why did I ever give your mother those singing lessons?"
"Well, off I go to another meaningless lecture! See you later grandmamma!"
"Oh, Serenity! Meaningless indeed!" Madame Alvarez groaned as she watched the rambunctious young lady grab her green sashed straw hat and raced out of the apartment door.
************************************************
"Darien...darling...I hope you don't mind...but I don't think I could accompany you to lunch with your uncle today."
"Why's that?" The ebony haired man asked as he looked back at his mistress still lying on the bed while he dressed up.
"Well...I'll be having skating lessons at the Palais de Glace' today and..."
"You seem to take this art of ice skating seriously!" Darien replied in a cool tone, buttoning his white shirt in the process. "Why, you seem to spend time skating as much as the time you spend with me." He finished as he faced her and stepped closer to his four-poster bed.
"You know that's not true!" The seductive honey blonde minx replied giving Darien the infamous pout that she is so well known for in the whole of Europe. Still naked under the silken sheets, Camille Dalleray repositioned herself in the bed, taking up a seductive sitting position instead, with her back leaning against the pillows and the silk sheets falling to her lap, powerless to cover her large bosoms. "I spend a great amount of time with you!" Her voice started to sound like high musical notes. "And of course you know how much I looovve our daily activities...why, we just did it a moment ago and still I crave for it!" She finished, giving him a seductive wink so he could remember how their little mid-day tryst started when he came over her apartment earlier. Darien Lachaille is always welcome at Camille Dalleray's elegant apartment because he bought it for her. A gentleman must always see to it that his mistress is always well provided for.
As he stared at Camille, Darien found himself getting hard at the seductive sight she displayed in front of him. He knew her little games. Camille was always good at getting what she wants.
Leaning close to Camille, Darien gave her one of those heart-melting grins he had been known for. His cool smile and those beautiful deep blue eyes can seduce any female he wants.
"Well," He spoke as he rubbed his lips to hers. "I guess you'll be missing out on meeting Honore's new young sparkle." He whispered as he began to caress Camille's supple breasts with his hands.
"Ooohhh...that's just too bad!" Camille replied as she let her tongue trace Darien's lips. "But does this mean that I could go ice skating?" She asked, putting a halt to Darien's soft kisses.
"Yes..." Darien huskily replied. "But only if you'd let me finish what you started a minute ago when you seduced me with your beautiful pout...and your delectable body." Darien finished giving her erotic wet kisses from her neck to her left breast.
"You know that you don't have to assskkk..." Camille couldn't finish as Darien gave her delicious pleasures that flooded her mind.
******************************************************* **
"Good day Mamita!"
"Oh Darien! How nice of you to come visit us poor souls!" Madame Alvarez cheered as she let the elegantly suited Darien into the apartment. "I always love it when the rich mingle with us poor people."
"Oh, my time here never bores me." He smiled.
"My, that's a very nice suit you have!" Madame Alvarez smiled as she inspected Darien's expensive black walking coat, beige vest and pant set and top hat. "Very chic! Just like you uncle Honore. He always made sure that he wore the best!" She added as she closed the entrance door.
"Oh that's right! You used to know my Uncle Honore. I told him all about you Mamita."
"Did he...ask about me?" Madame Alvarez was as curious as a cat. Her relationship with Honore had ended years ago but she still couldn't get him out of her mind.
"He still very much remembers you Mamita." Darien smiled as he took a seat at his especially reserved red Fleur de li embroidered chair in the household.
"Would you like some camomile tea?"
"But of course Mamita! I decided to skip lunch with Uncle just so I can have a sip of your specialty!" Giving the shabby apartment a thorough look, Darien looked at Madame Alvarez with a frown on his face.
"Where is Serena?"
"She's having lessons with my sister. Last week Serenity was taught on the proper way of eating lobster."
Madame Alvarez was baffled by the hearty laugh that Darien made because of the lobster lesson.
"Good, God! The things we teach the youth these days!" Controlling himself Darien took a cup filled with the camomile tea that Madame Alvarez had specially heated up for him.
"How is your sister by the way?"
"Same as usual...always living in the past...and refusing to leave it as well."
"Uncle told me about that too. He said that she had never set foot out of her luxurious apartment for years!"
"Well she did have a glorious past after all. Her majestic Maharaja, a Russian Tsar, A Duke from Spain." Madame Alvarez spoke as she took a sip of her camomile tea as well.
"Your sister had led an interesting life."
"Yes...an interesting life indeed."
********************************************************* ******
"Good day Charles!"
"Good day Mademoiselle Serenity!" The old butler replied as he led Serena inside her Aunt Alicia's elegant apartment. The apartment's furnishings made the whole place look like a room in the 1700's that Marie Antoinette would have had for herself. Knowing that Alicia Lunar didn't want to leave the past, having intricate traditional French furnishings is expected of her.
"What are we having for dinner today?" Serena whispered to the loyal butler as she handed him her coat.
"You are having ortolans (AN: Ortolans, a certain kind of bird dish)." He whispered back, pitying the young girl for all the trouble she had to go through learning what is proper and improper.
"Is it difficult to eat?"
Before the old butler could answer her question, her Aunt Alicia suddenly appeared in the hallway.
Dressed in a pink gown that displayed the excessive style of the French, Alicia Lunar's outfit was filled with intricate lace and trimmings. Her bodice showed a respectful amount of bosom, and intricate black lace was tied around her neck to serve as some sort of a choker. Madame Alicia may be well over sixty years but she still looks as if she had never left the age of forty-five. It was her gray hair that gave away her true age. She was a strong independent woman, looking at her made you feel inferior to her being, even if she wasn't born an aristocrat.
"Serena!! I told you so many times! Never run like a hellion! And don't think that I didn't catch you running toward the building earlier! Dear God! Watching you scramble like a savage...I saw everything from my balcony."
"Oh, Good afternoon Aunt Alicia." Serenity quickly greeted as she gave her aunt a kiss on the cheek.
"What on earth is that dress?"
"One of my old dresses, altered to fit me. I was hoping on getting a new set of wardrobe but grandmama tells me that you are planning to provide me with new ones."
"Is that what she said? Well it doesn't matter. I am planning on getting you a new set of wardrobe. It's about time you did. I'll have my modiste parade her designs for you one day and you may choose what you like."
"Could I have a dress that has blue, red and yellow stripes, very puffy sleeves and surrounded by ribbons?"
"Goodness gracious! I suppose that I will have to choose the wardrobe myself in order for you not to look like a leading comedienne at the Theatre Francais!"(AN: Leading comedienne-in other words...a clown)

Lesson: Eating Ortolon
"Serenity, today I will be teaching you the art of eating ortolan. Yes, that is what we will be having for our early supper today." She babbled as she led Serena to her garden motif dining room. She stood aside and frowned as Serenity raced to her seat and plopped on it like a rag doll. That stern look on Madame Alicia's face gave Serena the indication that she had just presented bad table manners. Quickly rising from her seat, Serena politely waited for her aunt to take a seat that Charles the butler had so graciously offered, then took hers in an overly exaggerated ladylike manner with Charles just to please her aunt.
"Ortolons are exquisite little birds which had been eaten barbarously over centuries. There is a certain way of eating ortolons properly and of course dear Serenity, proper table manners are very important! Why, savage table manners have destroyed more households than infidelity!"
Serenity listened to her aunt babble away as she was having difficulty figuring out how to cut her piece of ortolon into bite size pieces.
"You have to cut the bird with a quick stroke of the knife!" Madame Alicia ordered.
Serena did as she was told, slicing her piece in the middle and making a screeching sound in the process when her knife scraped her aunt's precious china.
"GENTLY darling...gently! There should be NO grating of the blade on the plate, and definitely NO sound!"
Madame Alicia demonstrated to Serena the proper way that Serena accomplished the second time as she sliced a bite size piece off the bird.
The bird wasn't as exquisite as her aunt had said. It would have been savory if it weren't for the thousands of little bones she had to munch on which made it quite difficult to chew.
"Do not worry about the little bones. They are chewable. Tell me about your school and friends...just don't talk with your mouth full like the last time when we were having lobsters!"
Quickly swallowing the hard piece in her mouth, Serena began to rally up all the events that had happened in school that day.
"We learned about Napoleon and his defeat at Waterloo."
"How depressing! Must history books cover his defeat?" Madame Alicia groaned.
"I also had my daily English language class."
"ENGLISH! Madame Alicia was shocked to the core. "I suppose we must!" She groaned. "They REFUSE to learn French after all!" She finished with sarcasm evident in her tone. "What friends have you made?"
"None. Grandmama would not even let me have tea with the families of my school friends."
"She is quite right. Apart from that, there is no one who follows you? No little clerk hanging round your skirts? No schoolboy? No older man? I warn you, I shall know at once if you lie to me."
Serena gazed at the bright face of her aunt who was questioning her so sharply.
"Why, no one aunt. Not one! Has somebody been telling you tales about me? I am always on my own. And why does grandmamma stop me from accepting invitations?"
"She is right, for once!" Madame Alicia smirked. "You would only be invited by ordinary people-that is to say, useless people."
"And what about us? Aren't we ordinary people ourselves?"
"NO."
"What makes these ordinary people inferior to us?" Serena asked cocking her head like a little girl.
"Serenity, darling...they have weak heads and dissolute bodies. Besides, they are married." Madame Alicia speared another chunk of her ortolon with her fork. "But...I don't think you'll understand." She finished as she ate bite size piece.
"Yes, Aunt. I understand that we do not marry."
"Serena," Madame Alicia took a deep breath before she turned her full attention from her meal to Serena. "Marriage is not forbidden to us. Instead of marrying 'at once', it sometimes happens that we marry 'at last'."
"But does that prevent me from seeing girls of my own age?"
"Yes. Are you bored at home? Well, be a little bored. It's not a bad thing you know. Boredom helps one make decisions."
"I'm not really that bored. I do enjoy the company of Grandmamma and especially Darien. I'm always happy when Darien is there. It's just that I don't know what it feels like to have girls my age join me."
"It's nothing too special Serenity, believe me! Most of them have dual personalities. One minute they are as sweet as sugar to you, the next thing you know, they are spreading scandal about you behind your back. The female species are known to be prone to jealousy darling, and it isn't really nice when one is driven by jealousy to hate you." Catching a glimpse of Serena's forlorn look, Madame Alicia decided to lighten her last statement. "Having female friends isn't to bad either. There is the beauty of sisterhood, the sharing of secrets and never being lonely. But I doubt that you'll gain any female friends since you will be living the life we have planned for you." With three glittering fingers, Madame Alicia grasped the stem of her glass and raised it in a toast. "To you and me Serenity!"
"To you and me." Serena raised her glass as well.

Lesson: Jewelry
Madame Alicia had unlocked her casket of jewels to use for a lesson that dazzled her.
"Serenity, do you remember that women who was here last week?"
"Oh yes! That was Madame Vienne!"
"Did you notice her black pearls?"
"Yes, they were beautiful!"
"DIPPED!" Madame Alicia answered in disgust.
"Dipped?"
"Yes dipped! It was a present from her current lover. Every one knows that he is tired of her now, which is the reason why such a gift was given to her. He will be breaking off the news to her anytime now. Poor girl."
Madame Alicia grabbed one of her gems to start the lesson.
"What is this Serenity?"
"A marquis diamond?"
"We say, a marquis-SHAPED brilliant!" Madame Alicia corrected. "And this?" She asked, lifting another gem.
"Uh...a Topaz?"
"A TOPAZ...IN MY JEWELRY, ARE YOU MAD?" Madame Alicia threw up her hands and the sunlight glancing off her rings set off a myriad scintillations.
"A topaz!" Madame Alicia repeated. "I have suffered many humiliations, but this surpasses them all!" She grabbed another gem to forget about Serenity's insult to her jewelry collection. "And this?"
"It's an emerald! How beautiful!" Serena gasped in awe.
Madame Alicia slipped the large square cut emerald on one of her thin fingers and was lost in silence. "Do you see that almost blue flame darting about in the depths of the green light?" She said in a hushed voice. "Only the most beautiful emeralds contain that miracle of elusive blue."
"Who gave it to you Aunt?" Serena dared to ask.
"A king." Madame Alicia smiled at the memory.
"Was he a great king?"
"No, just a small one. Great kings feel that they do not need to give huge jewelry, just small ones."
"But who gives the huge jewelry Aunt?"
"Just the shy, small kings, social climbers, the proud and such. But it doesn't matter who gave you the jewelry, just as long as you only wear the first rate jewelry when you go out."
While speaking, she began to touch here and there on Serena's face on a level with her own, with the sharp pointed nail of her index finger. She lifted one slightly chapped lip, inspected the spotless enamel of the teeth.
"A fine jaw, my girl! With such teeth, I should have gobbled up Paris, and the rest of the world into the bargain. As it was, I had a good bite out of it. What is this you've got here?" She asked sternly. "A SMALL PIMPLE! You've squeezed a blackhead. You've no business to have such things, or to squeeze them. I'll give you some of my astringent lotion. You mustn't eat anything from the pork butchers' except cooked ham. You don't put on powder?"
"Grandmamma won't let me." Serena sighed, exasperated from all the poking and prodding.
"I should hope not...Let me smell your breath."
She laid her hands on Serena's shoulders.
"Pay attention to what I am going to say. You have it in your power to please. You have an impossible little nose, a nondescript mouth-"
"Oh Aunt!" sighed Serena. Serena knows that her Aunt's descriptions aren't all true. Boys her age would often flatter her by calling her nose cute and her lips kissable.
"But with your eyes and eyelashes, your teeth and your hair, you can get away with it. As for the rest-" She cupped her hands over Serena's bosoms and smiled.
"A promise, but a pretty promise...beautifully molded. Don't eat too many almonds; they add weight to the breasts, and we sure wouldn't want them to sag right. AH...remind me to teach you how to choose cigars next time we meet."
"But I don't smoke cigars-"
"Of course we don't!" Madame Alicia interrupted. "But men do! All that I teach you is for a good reason darling. Love is a thing of beauty like art. Created by artists. The greater the artist, the better the art. And what makes a great artist?"
"Cigars and jewelry?" Serenity asked, too exhausted to think.
"OH, WHY DO I EVEN BOTHER TEACHING YOU?" Madame Alicia cried in anger as she stepped out of the parlor, ending their lessons for the day.
******************************************************** **
'Why are Parisians so particular about love?' Serena mentally asked herself as she watched a young couple so engrossed with their act of kissing.
Serena had stopped by the park to forget all that her Aunt Alicia had said about love during their lesson. Unfortunately for Serena, the park was filled with lovey-dovey couples unaware of their surroundings.
'What is it with Parisians? I just don't understand why they have to make love every chance they get?' Serena thought with disgust as she spotted another passionate couple walk by.
"SERENA!"
A carriage stopped in front of Serena carrying an ecstatic Darien inside.
"Serena! I was thinking of looking for you at the park and here you are in the park just like I thought you would be! Lucky me!" He said giving her a big grin.
"Darien...do you make love all the time?" Serena innocently asked as she approached the carriage.
"GOOD HEAVENS NO! NOT ALL THE TIME!" Darien answered in shock at the thought of his little Serena asking him a question concerning adult relationships. He won't deny the fact that he makes love often, but not all the time.
"The only people who make love all the time are liars. Why this talk about lovemaking? Is this the topic of your Aunt Alicia for today?"
"How did you know I was at my Aunt's?"
"I stopped by you Grand mama's for some tea. I was hoping you'd be there." He smiled.
"Oooh, that's too bad! I should have stayed then I would've played some cards with you and beat you!" Serena teased.
"That's not true, you always cheat!" Darien teased back.
"Well never have to cheat whenever I play with you!" Serena giggled.
"Shut your mouth before I give you some spanking you little brat!" Darien teased, trying his best to look stern but couldn't because Serena's bright smile was making his insides melt.
"I'm not your little girl! And I'm definitely not little anymore!"
"That's right, but if I had a daughter like you I would make sure that she knows how to control that big mouth of hers." He teased. "Now why don't you come with me?" He asked, grabbing at her arm while in the carriage.
"Where to?"
"At the Ice Palace. I am calling for Camille."
Once Darien mentioned the name of his mistress, Serena's smiling face immediately turned to a frown.
"CAMILLE, YOUR LADY LOVE! Oh no...I've had it with the topic of love today, I wouldn't want to hear it from you as well." She said, pulling her arm away from Darien's grip.
Darien's hold on her only got tighter. "Come on! I'll buy you a sweet drink! And you'll love it there, I promise!" He said giving her his best puppy dog pout then smiled.
Serena stared back into Darien's heartwarming smile and felt a strange feeling deep within her that she just couldn't explain. It's that feeling that she always gets whenever Darien is around. A feeling so strange but good which makes her body tingle with delight.
Serena couldn't help but turn her frown into a big smile at the thought of how much Darien wanted her company.
Loosing herself into his ocean blue eyes, Serena gave her answer.
"Okay Darien, you know that I'm always happy when I'm with you."

Chapter 1

Chapter 2
"WOW! This place is so magnificent!" Serena cried with admiration as her eyes roamed the famous Palais de Glace'.
This was her first time to visit Paris' most famous indoor skating rink. Palais de Glace' (Ice Palace) is known for its elegance, complete with the ambiance of Paris life. Palais de Glace' is also the best place to find Paris' cream of the crop. Royalty, Millionaires, Socialites, Debutantes Courtesans, Thespians and Opera singers, and just about anybody who wants attention.
"Is this your first time to visit the Ice Palace Sere?" Darien asked.
"Oh yes! It is my very first time!" She giggled, and then stopped as she caught Darien staring at her intensely.
"Don't stop." Darien softly said.
"Don't stop what?"
"Giggling."
"Oh really...why?"
"Because you get these cute dimples whenever you smile."
Serena blushed furiously at the complement. "I don't have dimples!"
"Oh yes you do...and they are so cute!" Darien gave another of his heart-warming smiles as their waiter led them to their table.
The waiter led them to the table closest to the ice. Their location gave them a great view of all the skaters. Unfortunately for Serena, most of the skaters are love struck couples having their romantic session for two.
'It couldn't get any worse than that!' Serena thought, then immediately spots Madame Camille Dalleray in the skating rink. 'I spoke too soon!' She grumbled to no one in particular.
"What will you and the lady have Monsieur?" The waiter asked politely.
"I'll have a bottle of champagne, and an extra wine glass for another lady. And bring a glass of raspberry wine for this young lady next to me."
"What did you get for me?" Serena asked as the waiter left their table.
"I got you a sweet drink."
"Can't I have champagne?"
"Your Grandmamma told me that you aren't allowed to drink champagne yet, so don't even think about taking a sip from my drink."
"But..."
Serena's conversation with Darien was interrupted when they caught sight of Madame Dalleray waving and smiling at Darien while her handsome skating instructor twirled her around.
"Is that the scandalous Madame Dalleray?" Serena asked, pointing at Darien's mistress.
"Yes, that's Madame Dalleray..." Darien answered, surprised at Serena's use of words. "Sere...tell me...does your Grandmamma know about the way you talk?"
"Oh, she never listens to me."
"I see."
"Plus she always tries to place many things into my head, like, do not read romantic novels, they only depress you...do not put too much powder, it causes wrinkles...Oh, and she mustn't know that we are together in a place like this!"
"Is there something wrong with you some spending time with me?" Darien found himself getting mad.
"Oh no, not at all. It's just that this is a place that isn't serious."
"What does she mean by that?" Darien asked getting more confused by the minute.
"I don't know?" Serena shrugged. "Like I told you earlier, they place many things in my head that I forget the reasons why they should be followed in the first place."
Turning back his attention to Camille Dalleray smiling at him from the skating rink, Darien sighed and gave up on pondering why Serena wasn't permitted to spend too much time with him. He does spend a lot of time with Serena, but that time was mostly spent in Madame Alvarez' shabby little apartment. Come to think of it, this is the first time he's ever spent with Serena outside her home. 'I wish I could bring you wherever I go little one, that way, I will always be happy and amused.' He smiled at the thought of Serena following him around. His daydream was interrupted when Madame Dalleray and her instructor passed by their table again.
"Serena, what do you think of Camille?"
Serena inspected Camille's voluptuous body from head to toe, suddenly feeling a tinge of jealousy at the infamous courtesan's skating outfit. Madame Dalleray was wearing a pastel green skating suit with puffed sleeves and high collar. Her honey blonde mane was styled in the latest Gibson girl hairdo, which was topped off with a beautiful frilly pastel green hat that matched her suit. Madame Dalleray's outfit was far more beautiful than her altered to fit old dresses.
"She's pretty...but...COMMON!" Serena topped off.
"What do you mean by common? Ordinary common or coarse common?"
"Ordinary....... and coarse! Oh yes, I really better be going now!" Serena bolted out of her seat and ran towards the exit, never letting Darien bid her goodbye.
Darien was left dumbfounded as he watched Serena rush out of the building. "What an extraordinary girl, but a cute one!" He smiled at his last thought and turned his attention towards Camille Dalleray and her skating instructor as they approached him.
"Oh Darling! I am so happy to see you!" Camille gleefully cried as Darien took her hand and kissed it.
"You skate divinely." Darien complemented his mistress.
"Thank you my love!"
Taking his seat, Darien was surprised to see the skating instructor still by their table. 'Whatever does that dolt need?' Darien mentally asked himself, irritated by the instructor's presence.
"I'll just call when I need you!" Camille said, gesturing for the skating instructor to leave and giving Darien the chance to tip the instructor.
Darien happily tipped the man with 50 francs to leave them alone.
"Thank you Monsieur!" The skating instructor happily accepted his rather large tip and left them alone.
"Despicable man!" Camille grumbled as soon as the instructor left.
"That's a surprise! You always have him as your skating instructor!"
"That's because Jacque is the best skating instructor in Paris darling!" Camille said, taking a sip of her champagne. "It's just that he's so conceited, so irritating, so superior in an inferior way!"
"I thought that we'd have dinner with Honore at Maxim's tonight. He really insists that we meet this new lady of his."
"But of course darling. I am a little bit curious on how this new lady of his looks like. Shall we go now?" Camille asked, so she could prepare herself for the dinner later on.
"Of course."
Both of them left Palais de Glace' to prepare for that night's dinner party at Maxim's.
**************************************************** *********
Maxim's Restaurant
Just like every night, 'Maxim's' is filled to the brim with Paris' cream of the crop. From the richest to the most notorious, practically every Parisian celebrity dines at that first class restaurant. And particularly every Parisian gossip emerges from that first class restaurant as well.
Like every other popular Parisian, Maxim's is Monsieur Honore Lachaille's favorite dining spot to hold large parties to romantic dinners for his young conquests.
"Honore!" A middle aged lady dressed in an elegant gold lame' gown cried as she approached a distinguished looking gentleman.
The gentleman looked like he was in his late fifties when he was actually in his early seventies, never loosing his handsome features.
"Ah...Madame Caron!" The man smiled. "It's nice to see you again. I thought that I'd never get to talk to you again after that certain incident years ago."
"Yes, I'll never forget that incident Honore." Madame Caron replied. "I was just to naïve to realize that you were practically involved with my younger cousin before you broke it off with me. But that was just so long ago, and I'd gotten on with my life."
"I really do apologize for the grievances that I had caused you."
"Oh don't be Honore! You taught me how to be a stronger woman. By the way...are you waiting for your new conquest?" She slyly asked.
"How in heavens did you know?"
"Monsieur Honore Lachaille would never be caught dead without a beautiful young girl by his side at Maxim's. I should especially know that since I used to be like that beautiful young girl you are waiting for now."
"Oh Lianne, you shouldn't put yourself down. You are still very beautiful and I never regret our love affair. It was a magnificent affair and unlike no other that I had experienced. I'll never forget it."
"Oh you liar!" She smiled. "I'm just glad to know that you still haven't changed that charming personality of yours. I do wish you the best of everything Honore."
"And I wish the best for you as well Lianne." He replied, taking her gloved hand and lightly kissing it.
"I always wanted to ask you this but...why do you always choose to dine at Maxim's when Paris is filled with numerous elegant dining places?"
"I just happen to like the people at Maxim's, no one likes to pry into other people's affairs. No gossips, no talk of scandals and such."
"I'd really like to believe you darling, but maybe you should pay more attention to the crowd."
As Madame Caron finished her statement, an old looking gentleman with a beautiful lady clinging to his arm appeared to the restaurant's entrance.
"Isn't that Monsieur des Exelmans!" A lady by the bar whispered to Madame Caron's ear.
"Oh it's that wretched old man!" A gentleman by the table whispered to his companions.
"That's probably Mademoiselle Duroche, the young lady he left his wife for." Another lady whispered.
"I think I spoke too soon!" Honore sighed as he watched Maxim's customers gossip away on Monsieur des Exelmans business.
"Oh Honore, all those years spent on dining at Maxim's and you've only just noticed this now!" Madame Caron giggled.
"Thank you for pointing that out Lianne, but I think that my date has arrived." Honore said as he politely left Madame Caron and approached a beautiful auburn haired lady in a sparkling forest green gown. The girl looked young enough to pass for Honore's daughter.
'Oh, Honore...still devoted to the chase.' Madame Caron mentally thought as she watched Honore proudly present his new young thing to the people, as they were led to their table.
"Honore Lachaille has a new twinkle in his eye!" The man next to Madame Caron whispered to everyone at the bar.
"I just hate it when he looks so happy!" Another replied.
"Just you watch, he'll be with another young thing tomorrow at Maxim's."
"Nobody could be as popular as that man!" A lady added.
"I wouldn't count on that." Madame Caron argued. "His millionaire nephew Darien is more popular, and speaking of the devil here he is now!" She pointed out the figures of Darien and Camille as they entered Maxim's.
Darien was very handsome and suave in his tuxedo that he made every woman at Maxim's tremble with desire. Camille was dressed in a sparkling red gown with a bodice that revealed much of her bosoms. Everybody noticed the bosoms she was well known for, but it wasn't the bosoms that surprised the crowd. It was the large ruby ring on her finger that caused everyone to go crazy with gossip.
"Did you see the size of that ring?"
"Oh my, they do look happy together. Camille looks as if she is about to burst with joy!"
"Are there going to be any wedding bells set for the near future?"
"That is complete hogwash! Nobody marries their mistress!"
"Prince Cheniaguine did. He married his mistress Valerie d' Aigreville."
"It is possible."
"Well whatever it is, Camille seems to be doing very well."
*********************************************************** *
"What is wrong Darien? Camille is in her high spirits but you seem to be dead? Did Camille get something out of you again?" Honore asked his nephew as soon as Camille left their table after graciously accepting to dance with another of Honore's guests.
"I'm just wondering what she's up to." Darien said as he watched Camille giggle like a little child while waltzing. "She's acting like a love sick puppy, so vivacious, so gracious! She got the appearance of a woman in love, blushing every minute. Everyone thinks that I have something to do with it, when actually I have a feeling that I am not."
"Whatever do you mean?" Honore asked.
"She knows that I'm bored with her, so I don't understand why she acts as if her relationship with me if going uphill. I give her a ring and she acts as if she had just discovered true love. She acted as if choosing my cigars and making coffee for me was an accomplishment to be honored. She acted as if pleasing me was a special thing and she never does that unless she wants me to buy her something. I've hired a private detective to watch over her these past few weeks and I have come to learn that she is having an affair with someone else. She is in love alright, but not with me."
"Who could this man be?"
"I'm not really sure, but the primary men on the list are Sean, Jacque and Leon."
"Are you jealous?" Honore smirked.
"Of course not! I'm just furious that she has to put up this act that we are both so in love when we really aren't. It also infuriates me that she would cheat on me with a skater, or a wrestler, or a huntsman!"
"When are you going to find out who the man is?" Honore was more curious than ever.
"Tomorrow afternoon."
************************************************* ***********
Honore Lachaille's Residence
"I knew it, oh I knew it from the start!" Darien furiously grumbled, as his uncle was busy dressing up. "She's having an affair with that skating instructor Jacque!"
"Don't feel too bad Darien. This happens to even the biggest of men like Napoleon, Louis the 16th, even me!"
"Oh that's right!" Honore's butler added. "Just like Madame Bouvier with that bootmaker from Versailles, or Madame Boulche' with that wrestler from Nice, or maybe that--"
"Shut up Frederick!" Honore groaned. "I hope that you're not distressed about this whole thing." He added, staring at Darien's figure by his bedroom balcony.
"Of course not uncle! I was terribly bored with her, I couldn't be happier actually. I just hate the fact that it took this long for me to find out. If I had known sooner, I wouldn't have had to provide her with jewelry and clothing anymore. That slut probably stayed with me so she could pry more material things out of me. According to the detective, she's with Jacque at this quiet little inn called 'Le Fleur'. I bet that's a special place for secret rendezvous! "
"Ah, I see. She has deep feelings for this skating instructor, but she can't seem to part with this extravagant lifestyle she obtains by being your mistress. She will definitely not be the envy of Paris' female population anymore once you break your relationship off, and she won't have Paris' most handsome bachelor as her escort anymore." Honore said.
"What are you going to do Monsieur Darien?" Frederick asked, as he helped Honore in his khaki-driving coat.
"Nothing."
"NOTHING?" Both Honore and Frederick asked with shock clearly etched on their faces.
"This isn't really a big thing. Why should I care what she does? I could just write her a not, breaking it off so I wouldn't have to go through all that trouble of visiting her and such."
"NOT A BIG THING!" Honore was again shocked to the core. "Darien, don't you want the feel of manly pride when you cast her away like the rat that she is and have her scream when she realizes what she had just done?"
"That's a bore! I've had many women weep over my breaking up my relationship with them. One even tried to force me into marriage by threatening to kill me. I really don't know why they had to make such a big fuss over ending affairs!" Darien mumbled. "But like I said, I am particularly bored with their antics. I am so sick and tired of Camille I don't even want to see her again."
"But Darien, Camille isn't the one who has the last say to this affair, you have. You mustn't let her win, you have to be the superior one or else she'll make you look like the heartbroken lovesick puppy!" Honore argued with determination.
"Your uncle is right Darien." Frederick replied. "You have to listen to him since he's been through the same predicament over and over again!"
"Oh, when will you learn to keep your mouth shut Frederick!" Honore groaned.
"Alright, alright! I'll pay her a visit and I'll make her feel like scum. But this is really a bore for me!" Darien hesitantly agreed.
"Good, good! Let's take your automobile!" Honore cheered as he grabbed his driving glasses and cap.
*************************************************************
Le Fleur
"There she is uncle!" Darien said after immediately catching the figures of Camille and Jacque kissing passionately.
"Where?"
"By the garden café with Jacque!" Darien said, while sitting in the table closest to the window overlooking the garden café'.
"He looks common!" Honore replied, while eyeing the young well built brunette skating instructor. "Just like every one of his type!"
"She never kissed me like that!"
"Of course she didn't! You're legal; he's forbidden fruit! Plus he's her little play thing just like she is yours.
"I don't envy him!" Darien added.
"Neither do I!" Honore agreed. "Camille looks terrible and old in the daylight!"
"And she is just in her early twenties too. I guess Serenity was right about her looking coarse after all."
"Who's Serenity?"
"Just this little girl whose company I enjoy."
"Darien, I think Camille is leaving for the ladies room to freshen up. This is our chance to get rid of Jacque!"
Both Darien and Honore walked out of the building and into the garden café to approach skating instructor extraordinaire, Jacque Bouvier.
"Oh, Monsieur Lachaille!" Jacque started out uneasily. "I didn't expect to see you here. Why, even Madame Camille is here today and we bumped into each other earlier."
"Oh shut up! I know why you are here!" Darien's voice was suddenly cold and fierce. "You are never to work at the Ice Palace again! There is a ship heading towards Burgundy this afternoon. I will give you a thousand francs for your journey."
Jacque still didn't move out of his seat.
"If you do not follow my instructions, I will be forced to rip your heart out with my own two hands. I swear to God I will!"
"I am going to follow you monsieur, I was just waiting for the thousand francs."
Darien was more disgusted than ever. Camille may be attached to Jacque, but Jacque wasn't certainly attached to Camille. 'Poor Camille, even I don't want her anymore.'
"Here's your thousand francs!" Darien angrily shoved a thousand-franc note into Jacque's pocket. "Now shall we go?" He said, while he and Honore practically carried Jacque out of his seat.
Darien let Honore lead Jacque to his automobile while he waited for Camille to approach him from the bar area.
"Darien, what a surprise!" She nervously said while eyeing Darien and the crowd of people who were curious about the commotion going on.
"Well it wasn't a surprise for me to see you here Cheri'!" Darien coldly replied. "Now that I am here I might as well tell you...IT IS OVER BETWEEN THE TWO OF US! I have made good use of you but I am tired of you and your antics. We shall never see each other again."
Everyone listening to their conversation gasped with surprise and started listen closer.
With a cool and suave composure, Darien donned his driving cap.
"Goodbye Madame, I hope that I won't see you and any of your belongings in my town house by tomorrow morning. As you recall, our settlement says that I provide you with a home once you become my mistress. But now that you aren't, I don't think that it is necessary to give you some living space. Good bye and Good luck Cheri'."
And with that, Darien left a shocked Madame Dalleray in the middle of the hotel, screaming her lungs out, and annoying the crowd in the process.

Chapter 2

Chapter 3
"NO!"
"WHAT IS IT ALICIA?" Madame Alvarez asked her sister, who was still
in bed, deep in conversation with another acquaintance in the phone.
"NO!"
"WHAT IS HEAVEN"S NAME IS GOING ON?" Madame Alvarez asked her sister,
more worried this time.
"NO...NO!"
"OH FOR HEAVEN"S SAKE WILL YOU STOP IT WITH THE DALLYING AND TELL ME
WHAT"S WRONG!" An irritated Madame Alvarez cried out.
Madame Alicia irritatingly answered her sister's question.
"Madame Dalleray has committed suicide!"
"NO!"
"YES!...Hold on a second!" Madame Alicia answered, listening back to
her phone for more juicy details.
"Uh huh...is that the reason? Where did you read it? At Gil Blas?
Well I have to read it as soon as possible...I'll call you soon
deary!" And with that, Madame Alicia finally ended her phone
conversation.
"A suicide! My...How did she ever survive it?" Madame Alvarez asked.
"The usual...insufficient poisoning! Gil Blas has her beautiful face
on its front cover with the title 'Sugar King's sweet honey is
driven to oblivion and survives'." Madame Alicia snorted.
"This is going to spread like wildfire all over the world.
This is Darien's first woman to attempt suicide in agony
over losing his love!"
"I thought that you of all people would be the first to hear
of this break up! Didn't he tell you and Serenity anything
about the breakup at all?"
"Darien hasn't been visiting us lately. I'll have to ask him
when he comes by the apartment."
****************************************************** *****
Monsieur Honore Lachaille's Residence
"Congratulations my boy! Your first attempted suicide! Not
even I could top that!" A cheerful Honore greeted as soon as
Darien entered his bedroom.
"It wasn't too big a deal uncle." Darien dryly answered.
"But of course it is! Let's have a toast!" Honore said, handing
Darien a wine glass. "To Madame Dalleray's attempted suicide, may
this be the first...of many!" He said, raising his champagne glass
for a toast.
"How utteringly boring!" Darien toasted back.
"So, what are your plans now that you are available to many women
again?"
"Hmmm, I'm thinking of spending some time at my country estate for a while. I just want some peace and relaxation from all this excitement." Darien said, already finding his idea to be very pleasing.
"PEACE AND RELAXATION!" Honore cried, almost choking. "Good God young man, you have to keep the masses guessing. You have to live the life you are famous for! Women, extravagance...excitement!"
"Alright uncle, I'll arrange for some excitement." Darien groaned.

SUGAR KING HOLDS EXTRAVAGANT PRE'-CATALAN
To celebrate his breakup with Madame Camille Dalleray, Millionaire Darien Lachaille held a Pre '-Catalan in one of Paris' most expensive restaurant's last Thursday. The clowns, Footit et Chocolat, entertained the guests and the beautiful Rayen del Erido caracoled on horseback between the supper tables, wearing a divided skirt of white lace flounces, a white hat on her black hair with ostrich feathers frothing round the relentless beauty of her face. Rumor has it that our darling Sugar king has taken a fancy to Mademoiselle Erido's fiery beauty and wit. Guests have reported how bored he was with the party, but once our fiery temptress approached him with the likes of a *Lady Godiva, he was completely brought back to life. Will this fiery Goddess be the Sweet King's new amour?
AN:*Lady Godiva- The only way to explain this is that Lady Godiva is a naked woman with long hair, riding a horse. I guess there's something sexual about it but I'm really not too sure so anyone who knows it, feel free to give info.

Darien Lachaille celebrates his annual 'Battle of the Flowers' Parade
What would a year be without the Sugar King's annual Parade of Flowers? And as usual, may the best floral design win! This year's parade is more extravagant than last year's. Could all of this be due to the fact that Darien Lachaille has eyes for his parade escort, Mademoiselle Michelle Cheron? Monsieur Lachaille had been particularly the charming hero when he offered her his handkerchief to prevent her embarrassment of sneezing throughout the whole parade. It seems that our dear Michelle is extremely allergic to flowers. Thank God our Sugar King was there to save her. The couple was last seen leaving the parade together.

Sugar King holds the most extravagant Masquerade Ball Paris had ever seen
Once again, Darien Lachaille doesn't cease to amaze us. First there was the Pre-Catalan. Next came his annual 'Battle of the Flowers' parade. Now he holds the biggest Masquerade Ball Paris has ever seen. Extravagant gowns, elaborate masks and jewelry adorn the ball's lavish guests. Guests had even caught a glimpse of the Sugar King himself taking a nap by his wine counter. Rumor has it that he had been secretly waiting for the Italian Countess, Isabella Marco, to meet him at that very spot he had slept on. Sources tell us that the beautiful Countess did appear later on that evening after every guest had left.

"Grandmama, Darien's had the whole Paris Opera perform in his mansion! I guess that's the reason why mama didn't have dinner with us that night." Serena said after reading a pamphlet of Darien's Opera party two nights ago.
"Don't you remember how your mother talked non-stop about the whole event, I also told you to remind me to just smile and act interested." Madame Alvarez grumbled while she prepared the cassoulet in the kitchen.
All was going peacefully in the apartment until the doorbell disrupted their five minutes of silence.
Seeing Serena still glued to her seat after several rings, Madame Alvarez had no choice but to order the girl to answer the door.
"SERENITY, STOP ACTING LIKE A LAZY BAR WENCH AND WILL YOU ANSWER THAT DOOR RIGHT THIS MINUTE! I AM QUITE BUSY PREPARING OUR DINNER FOR TONIGHT SO IF I DO NOT A FINISH COOKING SOON, WE WILL HAVE TO GO TO BED WITH AN EMPTY STOMACH! NOW ANSWER THAT DOOR!"
Serena rushed to the front door, trying her best to avoid her grandmother's wrath. Being raised by the old lady herself, Serena knows that when her grandmamma gets serious, she really gets serious. Proof of that wrath would be the numerous times Madame Alvarez had spanked Serena for wrong behavior.
"Darien!" Serena cried with glee as she opened their front door.
"Well Sere, it's nice to see you again!" He smiled.
"Come in, come in!" Serena excitedly invited him in. "Grandmama's busy making dinner in the kitchen.
"Well I'll just go over the kitchen to greet her. Will you hold this for me?" Darien said, handing Serena his expensive mahogany walking cane, with a 24-carat gold handle. Serena whistled in amazement.
"Pure Gold! You must be rich enough to hand canes like this to girls like me." Serena replied as she tried to act like a gentleman walking with a cane as expensive looking as the one she had in her hand.
"MMMmmm...Smells awfully good in here Mamita!" Darien said as he entered the kitchen.
"Darien, this is just a poor man's cassoulet." Madame Alvarez replied, flattered at Darien's compliment. "The price of goose had gone sky high over the last week, now all I could afford to use is bacon rind."
"Don't worry Mamita. I'll have a nice goose sent up to you from the best marketplace in Paris."
"Darien, you don't have to."
"Oh, but it is my pleasure Mamita." Darien replied as he stepped out of the kitchen. "I also brought some caramels for Serenity." He added, handing the box of caramels over to Serena who quickly snatched the box right out of his hands and eyed it like she hasn't eaten in a week. Serena has a major sweet tooth, and Darien knows this. He always remembers to bring a box of caramels whenever he comes over to visit the Lunar ladies, and expensive chocolates whenever it is Serena's birthday.
"Darien, you spoil her so!" Madame Alvarez said while she chopped a couple of onions.
"I also brought some champagne for you." Darien added.
"Oh Darien, you spoil me too!" Madame Alvarez giggled.
"So where are you off to with that nice neck tie of yours?" Serena slyly asked.
"I'm holding a dinner party tonight at the Eiffel Tower to celebrate my trip to Monte Carlo next Saturday." Darien answered, sitting down on his favorite seat.
"What kind of food will they serve tonight?" Serena asked, curious as ever.
"Just the same old boring food. Filets de sole aux moules, saddle of lamb with truffles. Nothing new."
"They all sound delicious, but why do you make it seem as if those dishes were tasteless?"
"That's because they are boring! And they can never compare to your grandmama's cassoulet!"
"Darien, stop teasing!" Madame Alvarez had to control her blushing at Darien's complements so she could concentrate on chopping some potatoes.
"Since you like my grandmama's cassoulet so much, why don't you stay for dinner?" Serena suggested.
"SERENITY!" Madame Alvarez cried. "Mind your manners! Darien has other things to attend to for tonight and all you can think of is making him stay for dinner."
"Why not?" Darien asked, suddenly finding himself interested in the idea of not attending his own party and eating dinner at the Lunar household instead. He wouldn't really hurt any of his guests if he chose not to attend and he wouldn't really miss anything at all since these parties bore him all the time.
"I've decided to stay and have dinner with the two of you!" Darien happily replied.
"But what about your party?" Madame Alvarez asked.
"Oh, Uncle Honore is capable of hosting the whole dinner party. They really don't need me around. I'll just write him a note and have my driver bring the note to him."
"Will he use the automobile?" Serena asked.
"Yes."
"Is it your four seater de-Dion-Bouton with the collapsible hood?" She excitedly asked.
"Serena, you know that the Dion-Bouton is the first automobile that I ever owned so of course it is you little brat!"
"Oh Darien, I am dying to ride in your wonderful automobile. Can I help deliver the note?"
"SERENITY! STOP IRRITATING MONSIEUR LACHAILLE!" Madame Alvarez scolded.
"Go ahead and deliver the note. Don't forget to wear my driving coat and glasses." Darien smiled as he handed Serena the note.
Serena's blue eyes sparkled like sapphires at the excitement of finally having the chance to ride an automobile. She was so happy that she gave Darien a great big bear hug and laced his cheeks with kisses.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" Serena happily cried, still giving Darien sweet little kisses around his face. Her innocent little pecks were starting to stir up Darien's insides. Darien liked those sweet little kisses so much that his thoughts began to conjure up an image of him kissing Serena passionately. He would love to slip his tongue into her mouth and discover if it is just as sweet as she is. He wanted to feel those luscious pink lips with his own lips. He wanted to hear erotic moans come out from her lips, as he would skillfully pleasure her with his tongue and hands. Darien started to blush at the realization of his thoughts. 'Serena's just a young innocent girl, she wouldn't do those things!' Darien mentally reminded himself so he could stay in control.
"Darien, Serena takes advantage of you!" Madame Alvarez teased as she took note of Darien staring at Serena intensely after she gave him those endless kisses. Serena had already left the apartment but Darien's gaze was still glued to the door where Serena exited.
"Oh let her Mamita, let her! It amuses me so." He smiled.
"So...Darien...How is it between you and...ah...Madame Dalleray? I see that you seem to be taking everything well knowing how long your relationship had been." Madame Alvarez started out, cautious not to anger Darien with the nature of her question.
"Everything's just fine. I'm glad that it is over with." He answered dryly.
"So, is a new lady out there just waiting to be presented to Paris?"
"Not at the moment. I can't really find anyone worth having a relationship with right now."
"What about all those women with you during the past week and a half? Gil Blas and Paris en Amour weren't very stingy with details about your interest in them."
"I wouldn't really call it an interest Mamita, so let me explain. The parties I've held were quite boring. I wasn't really planning on celebrating for the whole of Paris but it was all Uncle Honore's idea."
"That's very much like Honore indeed!" Madame Alvarez smirked at the thought of her ex-lover still very much the lover of grand balls and celebrations.
"I was truly bored in those parties. The women mentioned in the newspapers were the only excuse I had to leave the festivities; it would truly be embarrassing if everyone caught me snoring like a pig with some drool slipping from my wide-open mouth! These women invited me to get away from the crowd, so being truly bored as I was I took the chance. Unfortunately, these women wanted my full attention as well, so I couldn't just leave them be and go directly to some peaceful area for a nap. So, just like what a gentleman ought to do, I had to stay as their constant companion all evening." Darien was beginning to blush a bit for he wasn't exactly giving Madame Alvarez the whole story of what went on during his recent celebrations over his break up with Madame Dalleray. He didn't want Madame Alvarez, a lady he considers to be his second mother, to know how sexual his actions were towards all those women he was linked with during the past festivities. Those women did take away his boredom, by letting him screw them while the festivities went on.
"Are you in a rush to get married and bear children who will carry out your name?"
"Oh, no! Of course not Mamita! Marriage is out of the question for me right now. I don't think I'll ever find the right one. My parents put into my head all the time that there will be that special one for me. Someone who will bring joy to my life. I don't really believe in such things."
"I guess your right." Madame Alvarez softly but hesitantly agreed. Madame Alvarez wasn't exactly married when she gave birth to her daughter Veronique. Monsieur Alain immediately left her when he found out that she was pregnant. She had been hoping for a marriage proposal from him but nothing ever came. She didn't have the heart to give her baby up either (They had other means of abortion and birth control then). She never did regret her own decision to keep Veronique, even if she and Veronique don't get along too well these days, for she wouldn't have had the chance to watch her own child grow and bear her a wonderful grand daughter like Serenity. Her life wasn't as lonely as it was when she was a mistress being pampered with many luxuries. Right now, she still wasn't sure if her and Alicia's decision for Serenity to become a courtesan is the right step for her little Serena. Serena might not be happy living that life at all.
"You have a point about marriage Darien, but in the end you'll always feel this loneliness inside you. I always hope that there is a special someone out there who could fill out that void for us. Maybe you just haven't met yours yet or maybe you have, you just haven't realized yet." She added. "Believe me when I say that having a family is the happiest thing in my life that I'll never regret."
"Well...I'll just have to find out in the future." Darien finished.
*************************************************** *****
Darien had quite an unfortunate streak all during his evening at the Lunar's. It started out quite fine during their dinner of savory cassoulet when Serena returned home telling him that Honore was all right in acting as his host for the big dinner party. His luck started to change when Serena requested that they play cards. Being the tricky cheater that she is, she's been winning every single game with him throughout all the years he had known the girl.
"I've had enough! YOU CHEAT!" Darien cried.
"No I don't! It's just comes to show that I am better at cards than you! Now stop acting like a five year old which you are not and play another new round with me!" Serena demanded.
"I don't know, I'm getting tired of losing to you for this night."
"Oh, please...just one more game?" She pleaded, her large blue orbs starting to get watery and emotional.
'Darn, I hate it when she flashes her puppy dog pout.'
"Okay Sere, but just one more game! What would you want if you were to win this last game, not that I'm going to loose you know. Would you like me to buy you a new pair of stockings if you win?"
"I hate stockings! They make my legs itch! How about a pretty pastel green corset embroidered with rococo roses?" She paused to ponder for more ideas. "Or...a trip to Deuville?"
"Serenity! You'll do no such thing!" Madame Alvarez reminded.
"Okay! A trip to Deuville it is!" Darien agreed, confident enough that he is going to win.
****************************************************
"AHA! I WON! I WON! I BEAT YOU DARIEN!"
"YOU CHEATED!"
"NO I WON! You wouldn't back out on our agreement wouldn't you?"
"Of course not, I said my word. Off to Deuville we go this weekend." He smiled, pulling Serena's arm and giving her a nice big hug.
"Is this true, you'll be taking us both to Deuville?" Madame Alvarez asked.
"Yes, definitely. Serena's mother could come too if she wants."
"She'll probably tell you that she'll be too busy with the Opera to attend this nice little outing." Madame Alvarez answered dryly.
"That doesn't matter." Darien cheered. "We have to thank this little brat for cheating her way to gain a trip to Deuville!" He chuckled, while he teasingly pulled at Serena's Golden locks, bringing her head closer to his shoulders. The two were entangled in a tight embrace, and that was the sight that Veronique Lunar caught as she entered the household.
"My...everyone seems...awfully...comfortable in here!" She dryly said, keeping her watchful eyes on Serena's head resting on Darien's shoulder, and Darien's hands caressing Serena's hair.
As soon as Veronique's presence was noted by all, Darien immediately pulled away from Serena's embrace.
"Mama, Darien wants to take us all to Deuville this weekend!" Serena cheered.
"Deuville!" Veronique was surprised. 'Why would a wealthy playboy like Darien waste his precious social life by bringing a poor family off to Deuville? Does he really find Serena that amusing?'
"Yes Deuville Madame. And I suggest that you bring a swimsuit as well."
"Well, I'm sorry but I'm afraid that I'll be busy rehearsing with the Opera this weekend. Maybe some other time, but thank you for the offer."
"That's all right. Maybe some other time then."
And with that, Veronique left for the privacy of her room to do voice lessons.
"She's always too busy with the Opera!" Madame Alvarez sighed.
"Remember to rise early on Saturday. My carriage will be picking you up as early as seven in the morning! Don't forget to bring swimsuits!" Darien reminded.
"Oh, I'm too big and old for swimsuits. I think that I'll just sit around and watch you two have fun. I'll make sure that Serena brings her swimsuit though." Madame Alvarez said.
"YIPPEEE! WE'RE GOING TO DEUVILLE!" Serena cheerfully cried.
To be continued
Stay tuned for Chapter 4 people. Believe me when I say that it's going to be better. This is when Sere and Darien get a little bit closer to each other. Till next time!

Chapter 3

Chapter 4
"I'm crazy for you
Touch me once
and you'll know
it's true
I never wanted
anyone like this
It's all brand new
You'll feel it
in my kiss...
I'm Crazy for you"
Madonna (Crazy for You)
Deuville... with its beauty everlasting, with its variety of
flowers blooming with an array of colors and oozing with sweet
smelling fragrances, adding to the charm of its first class
resorts.
But it isn't the flowers or the luxurious resorts that lure the
crowd to Deuville.
It is the promise of warmth from the sun penetrating through your
skin, and the feeling of the cool seawater blending with the warmth.
It is the feeling of freedom that seeps into ones veins whenever
they see the vastness of the sea.
It is the feeling of comfort provided by the cool sand beneath
one's feet.
And the freedom to wear fewer clothes than one normally wears!
Short frilly knee-length bathing dresses for women, complete
with bathing stockings, slippers and caps that felt more
relaxing compared to their everyday use of corsets and long
dresses.
Bathing outfits for men, which made sure that it, covered from
their neck to mid thigh making it possible for them to feel
free and swim without worrying whether they were gentlemanly or not.
There was never a sunny season when the resort wasn't filled to the
brim
with the posh citizens of France. The laughter of children could be
heard all over the beach as they busied themselves with their
sandcastles, little games and swimming. Young women would often
frolic around while busying themselves on gaining young men's
attentions while the matrons watched from their lounge chairs,
making sure that a look from the young men is all the girls get
and nothing else. Little families gathered around their colorful
blankets while they heartily ate the scrumptious food that they kept
in their picnic baskets.
"SERENITY...DO BE CAREFUL DARLING!" Madame Alvarez cried out to Serena
who was busy wrestling Darien in the water.
"DON'T WORRY GRANDMAMA!" Serena laughed as she tried her best to
topple Darien in the water with all her strength. "I'LL REMEMBER
TO DO THAT AS SOON AS I MAKE DARIEN LOOK LIKE A SITTING
DUCK........AAAMMMPPHHHFFFFFFFTTTT! Serena was easily flipped over
by Darien and dunked in the water.
"Better a sitting duck than a water drenched little mouse!"
Darien laughed.
"Why you..."
"Oh that girl will never learn!" Madame Alvarez sighed as she watched
Serena start out a full-fledged water fight with Darien as she
continuously splashed him with salt water...while Darien splashed her
back.
'But at least she's truly happy.' Madame Alvarez smiled to herself as
she remembered how their outing started with Darien picking them up
in the morning.
All three of them sang some cheerful folk songs on the way to the
resort. As soon as they got to Deuville, Darien brought them to the
best dress shop in town and bought her and Serenity nice white summer
dresses, perfect for lounging around the resort. She distinctly
remembered Darien mention that he had long wanted to buy the pretty
Victorian laced white summer dress for Serenity. It most certainly
made Serenity look like a proper little girl with its lacy balloon
skirt reaching just below her knees, the puff sleeves that reached
her elbows, her matching white bow ribbon to tie her hair half-up,
the matching white stockings and boots. Serenity was as pretty as a
porcelain doll that little girls would love to have.
Darien was practically a sight to see, with his crisp white resort
suit and matching straw hat. Women in Deuville couldn't take their
eyes off him! Madame Alvarez knew what they wanted all right...to
share their bed with Darien, to be his newest mistress. Once the
news of Darien's breakup with Madame Dalleray broke out, women all
over -from debutants to widows- clamored for Darien's attention. It is
no surprise that Darien had indulged himself with their good graces,
but he was cautious not to be trapped by any of them into marriage.
Madame Alvarez was just happy to know that Darien's attentions didn't
stray away from her and especially Serenity. He did promise them a
weekend of fun and enjoyment, not to watch him welcome the advances
of the sophisticated ladies in this resort. All those women could
flash him their shapely stocking legs all they want and he wouldn't
even give them a second look.
He was like a little boy on his first trip to a carnival. He and
Serena were practically inseparable! When they weren't at the café,
they'd be at the tennis courts with Serenity dirtying her ivory white
dress with dust! Just when you thought they would be exhausted
from that, they would soon follow it up with a bicycle ride for two
around the boardwalk. Now the two of them are having fun at the
beach.
'I wonder if there are any more fascinating things coming our way?'
Madame Alvarez smiled as she eyed Serenity and Darien enjoying every
bit of the other's company.
It took all of Serena's will power not to blush whenever she eyed
Darien's muscled body. He was the only man in that day and age
that was scandalous enough to bear his torso. "It feels more
comfortable
wearing just the swim trunks without the top." He would always tell
her when she asked him why he doesn't wear the same swim outfits as
the other men in the beach. "It makes me feel free." She remembered
him adding. Of course she knows that Darien was well known for
exposing his bare torso to the public. Instead of dwindling his
popularity with the Parisian society, his scandalous life actually
heightens the people's interest in him. Why, it was just a few weeks
ago when she read in 'Paris en Amour' magazine a feature article
about Darien, complete with a photograph of him looking like he does
at that moment. She secretly kept that photograph of him under
inside her pillowcase so that she may dream of Darien every night.
Ever since she turned twelve, Serena had always carried a torch
for Darien. She was pretty sure that what she was feeling was not
infatuation, but love. She'd had quite a few crushes on some boys
her age but they were nothing but an infatuation aside from the
fact that they weren't flattered by her tomboyish ways. Darien on
the other hand had always been kind, caring and gentle to her.
Whenever she was with Darien, she could just be her true self. Whenever
she was with Darien she would always be happy and content. Aside from
Darien's personality, it also wouldn't hurt to add that she found
him extremely handsome. She sometimes had the urge to touch
Darien's silky raven locks and pull his face towards hers so she
may be able to stare deep into his beautiful ocean blue eyes and
feel his soft lips urging her to give in to his kiss. But that
would probably never happen, Serena would remind herself. Darien's
women would always be sophisticated and worldly, not to mention
gorgeous! Madame Dalleray was exquisite, so was the American heiress
Madame Berylla Milton, not to mention the English opera singer Madame
Paulette Brighton and many, many more. Darien only saw her as the
little sister he never had. It hurt deep inside whenever she saw
Darien with another, but Serena would always remind herself that she
didn't own Darien and he had the freedom to have as much of a variety
of
women as he wanted. But why did it still hurt deep in her heart?
'That's because you're so crazy about the man Sere!' She answered
in her head. Yes, Serena could not deny it any longer. She'd imagined
Darien romancing her like he would with his mistresses. How many
times had she blushed on her indecent thoughts while daydreaming
in bed? How she'd love for him to gently caress her body all over
while she bared it for his eyes, hands and mouth. 'What a
wicked girl you are Serena!'
'But that could never be because he loves me like a sister, he's been
telling me that ever since I was a child.'
"EARTH TO SERENA! ARE YOU STILL IN THERE YOU LITTLE BRAT?"
"Huh?"
"You've been staring at the water for quite some time Sere!" Darien's
concerned face suddenly turned into a mischievous look. "Maybe you
want me to dunk you in the water again?" He asked slyly while he
approached her.
"NO YOU'RE...AAAHHHHHH!"
The next thing Serena felt was the cold salty seawater.
Well here's chapter 4...FINALLY! I hope you guys like it. I was

Here but I've got other plans. I need some help though, I was
wondering if any of you readers can suggest some steamy scenes and

Also I wanna say sorry if it was short...I'm loosing some inspiration in my head, all my ideas are going into my filmmaking and that means that I got the Beatles all over my brain! I'm working on Chapter 5 and I am rereading the Gigi book again so I could feel and get inspired. I'm changing some stuff from the original but same plot though. Love scenes would probably be in the end.

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Sailor Moon characters or Gigi characters,
they
belong to Naoko and Colette...the characters in MGM's movie Gigi also
BELONGS to Colette which is why I ONLY mention her name and NOT MGM's.
If
anybody can't understand that, check out the Chapter 5 author's notes
that I
came up with. This story is also based on COLETTE's 'Gigi', and it is a
mixture of the movie 'Gigi' by MGM and the book 'Gigi' which MGM based
their
movie on, as well as a 1940 Gigi movie that also based it's story on
the
book.
AN: Okay so here it is Chapter 5a. It's longer than Chapter 4 and some
new
characters have been added in. As for the plagiarism accusations (Well
I
felt like I was being accused of that) it's all behind me. Thanks for

Someone asked me if I was French, well I'm pretty flattered but I am
not
French. I'm an Asian American actually but I love Europe and I always
travel
there when I get the chance. I especially love Madrid, Spain. I'm
really
into the Edwardian era, early 1900s Parisian society and all. I'm into
all
that 19th Century English stuff as well.
From Girl to Mistress
Chapter 5a
On the soft powdery sand they both lay like Adam and Eve.
Her long silvery blonde locks surrounding his short dark ebony tresses.
Entwined in passion they both were.
Leaning on his left arm, he let his soft lips explore every inch of her
young luscious body, inwardly smiling at how much she had ripened to
perfection.
Consumed with desire, she let her eyes close to savor the tantalizing
sensations she felt as he let his tongue taste the territories no man
had
ever explored.
Helpless with pleasure, she gave out a moan as she let him greedily
feast on
her.
And as he slowly thrust himself into her, she heard him call out her
name...
"SERENA."
"SERENA!... IS ANYBODY IN THERE?"
A pretty blonde haired girl about Serena's age teased as she mockingly
tapped her finger on Serena's forehead while she leaned on the railing
of
the elaborately floral decorated bridge, one of the many special spots
at
the famous 'Jardin des Tuileries' (Tuileries Gardens).
"I'm sorry Mina." Serena replied after recovering from her momentary
trip
into Darien-land. "I just feel so tired lately." 'And because I miss
Darien
so much...I wish he were here with me.' She secretly thought to
herself.
"Well that's nothing new!" A tall brunette joined in with the teasing.
"Oh don't be silly Lita!" Serena frowned as she continued to throw some
pebbles at the pond.
"I was just teasing you Sere, you know I always do!" Lita giggled
giving
Serena a playful wink. "But what is the matter with you anyway?" She
asked
changing to a concerned tone. "You seem to have taken daydreaming as a
hobby
now. Is there anything wrong with your grandmamma?"
"Oh...no! She's perfectly fine!" Serena immediately replied.
"Maybe...maybe you are IN LOVE!"
"IN LOVE!" Both Serena and Lita immediately turned to their other
blonde
companion.
Pointing out her supposed expertise when it comes to love, Mina went on
to
explain the symptoms.
"Well it's really easy to detect especially with Serena. There's been
this
sudden change with her lately, like her constant daydreaming."
"That's true!" Lita immediately agreed.
"Oh don't be silly Mina! You cannot base such a ridiculous theory on
such
little proof!" Serena defended herself.
"There is also the sudden loss of appetite...which is not quite a
normal
thing for Sere!" Mina continued.
"Right again!" Lita agreed. "Serena barely even touched her food in our
luncheon today and she wasn't even excited to come over to my place the
other week for some chocolate cake and tea. Sere would NEVER pass up a
chance to indulge in our bakery's special mocha butter crème chocolate
cake!"
"Well, how about I come over for a slice today!" Serena angrily
suggested.
"I wonder who this mystery love of Serena could be?"
"Well I hope that it isn't that English gentleman we met last month,
Freddie
Einsfordhill!" Lita ground out.
"That's just because he reminds you of an old suitor you fancied!" Mina
sighed.
"Well whoever it is, I am pretty sure that it couldn't be any of the
young
men from the boy's school next to ours. If it were, then Serena
wouldn't
have been gobbling up large amounts of our chocolate cake specialty for
years."
"Well then, I hope you two have had enough of this nonsense!" Serena
ground
out. "Can't we just change the subject?" She pleaded.
"Well let's see, Sere spends most of her time with her Aunt Alicia."
Lita
added, continuing on their game, trying to discover who Serena could be
in
love with.
"Then she spends the rest of her time with Madame Alvarez...there must
be
someone other than your relatives who you spend your time with!" Mina
huffed, frustrated with their unsuccessful little guessing game.
"Well, there is also your grandmamma's friend Monsieur Achilles who you
repeatedly talk about all the time. I think that he visits you often?"
Lita
added.
"THAT'S IT!" Mina shrieked, having the other's attentions fully at her.
"What's it?" Lita asked, confused.
"Serena is...IN LOVE...with Monsieur Darien Lachaille! YOU ARE IN LOVE
WITH
DARIEN AREN'T YOU?" Mina's statement was proven to be true when Serena
blushed.
"You are in love with the famous Monsieur Lachaille! The sugar king,
the
wealthy playboy, the world famous heartbreaker?"
Serena blushed even more as she concentrated her gaze on one of the
beautiful swans playing around the pond.
"I GOT IT! I can't believe it! Am I good or what!" Mina gave a huge
grin at
her accomplishment.
"Well it's just too bad." Lita sighed.
"What's just too bad?" Serena asked.
"Haven't you heard?" Lita replied.
"Heard what Lita?" Mina joined in. "Come on, don't be stingy with the
gossip!"
"It was printed all over the magazines!" Lita twirled a lock of her
curly
rich chestnut brown hair as she tried to remember all the details.
"It says that he went to Monte Carlo for a holiday, and that this trip
was
especially kept a 'secret' because he doesn't want to foreclose the
identity
of the lady who's in his company."
"NO!" Mina gasped.
"Is that really true?" Serena was somewhat hesitant to ask because she
knew
about the trip but didn't expect that Darien planned for that trip to
be
exclusively for a hot passionate affair. How did he easily find a new
ladylove for a Monte Carlo holiday full of lovemaking?
"It is true!" Lita firmly replied. "A friend or my mother's was
traveling on
that very same train Monsieur Darien took for Monte Carlo. She said
that she
saw Madame Camille Dalleray on that very same train but in a different
compartment. It was pretty obvious why she was there, those two are
going to
be back together again!"
"Oh no!" Mina replied. "I'm so sorry Sere." She continued as she gently
patted Serena's back to provide some comfort.
"I can't believe he would take her back after all her cheating and
suicidal
acts!" Lita angrily huffed.
" I suppose that her unsuccessful suicidal attempts had won him over
after
all." Serena quietly added.
"Don't you worry Sere...Lita and I are always here if you need any help
even
though we all meet secretly." Mina said trying to cheer Serena up.
"There are plenty of handsome men in Paris. I'm sure that you will
easily
find one that loves you back." Lita added.
'But not as handsome and special as Darien.' Serena thought to herself.
"I
am happy to have friends like you two." Serena reluctantly smiled as
she
threw another pebble in the pond and watched till the ripples
disappeared.
******************************* *******
"Young lady...where have you been?"
Madame Alvarez's voice boomed stilling Serena's movements.
Nervously, Serena began to twirl a lock of her hair as she pondered on
what
excuse she'd give her grand mamma this time.
" Grandmamma...I...well...it was such a beautiful day outside and I
decided
to spend some time at the Jardin des Tuileries...oh it was so beautiful
outside absolutely beautiful...
"You've been out with those girls again haven't you?"
"Whatever do you mean grandmamma?" Serena asked trying hard to look
innocent.
"Don't play your silly little fibs with me young lady! I know when you
are
lying!" Madame Alvarez sternly reminded.
"But grandmamma, they wanted to treat me to a luncheon and they are
really
good friends... they really are good to me grandmamma! They are not the
type
to be jealous of me or anything like what Aunt Alicia says ordinary
people
are...really they are good to me!" Serena pleaded.
"Oh all right! Just as long as there aren't any young boys involved!
Good
heavens the trouble they cause! You can use your mama as an example for
that! And don't forget about your Aunt Alicia as well, make sure that
she
doesn't catch you with them, even though I doubt that she ever will
since
she never leaves her apartment."
Serena's aquamarine eyes twinkled as her moist rosy lips turned twisted
into
a lovely smile. "Oh thank you grandmamma! You wouldn't regret me
befriending
them really, they know the best gossips in town!"
"Really...like what?"
"Oh well, Lita Poret's family friend was traveling on the same train
Darien
was on when he left Paris for Monte Carlo. She said that Darien has a
secret
female companion with him and that lady happens to be Madame Dalleray."
Serena sighed as she relayed all that she had heard from Lita.
Madame Alvarez shrugged her shoulders and frowned.
"It was probably just a coincidence. Maybe the Porets' family friend
caught
Monsieur Lachaille and Madame Dalleray on the same train making such a
silly
assumption when most probably the two ex-lovers are not aware of each
other's presence."
"What if he is getting married grandmamma?" Serena stiffened at the
thought.
"That is highly unlikely. Anybody who gets married is not interesting
anymore!"
"Then Darien won't be interesting at all!"
"It depends...if he does marry his ex-lover, then there might be a
chance
that he'd still be interesting...but I highly doubt that there are
marriage
plans in Darien's future. I know him well enough to see that he is much
too
smart to give into marriage to an old thing like Madame Dalleray."
"Do you think that it is a reconciliation they are planning which is
why
they are on the same train?" Serena asked, very much hopeful that her
grandmamma would disagree.
"No." Madame Alvarez answered. "I must have a word with Alicia though.
I
might be coming home late tonight so I prepared some onion soup for you
and
your mother. You could probably heat up the leftover country ham, and
there
are some two loaves of fresh baguettes that I bought from the store
earlier."
"There is some butter left in the pot. Maybe I could fry the ham up in
it."
Serena suggested while at the same time wondering what her grandmamma
and
Aunt Alicia were up to.
**********************************************
< br> Later that evening, Madame Alvarez came in late as she expected it to
be,
but was surprised to see Serena waiting for her at the dining table.
"Good heavens Serenity! Have you forgotten the damage less sleep can
cause
to your eyes!"
"I am so sorry grandmamma. I was just too curious why you took off so
sudden
to Aunt Alicia's."
"Well you happen to be in luck." Madame Alvarez snorted, sarcasm
evident in
her voice. "For the next following weeks, you will be having lessons
with
your Aunt Alicia every 3 in the afternoon. Everyday."
"But I don't want lessons everyday!"
"Hush Serenity! This is very important and vital for your future!"
Madame
Alvarez angrily huffed. "From now on it will be WORK...WORK...WORK...
LESSONS...LESSONS...LESSONS!"
To be continued.
Well there is chapter 5a. I am working on 5b right now. Hope you guys

Thanks for
all
the comments and reviews, I like receiving them. So sit back and
relax...here's chapter 5a. Please give me reviews so I'll know you guys
liked it or not.

Disclaimer: I do not own 'Sailor Moon' and the novel and movie 'Gigi'. Also I copied some of the dialogue in the movie...there really is just no other way to translate it.
Author's notes: I came up with Chapter 5b now because I hate it when
people
don't send in an a/b part-er immediately. I am really glad that
everyone
loved Chapter 5a, I do hope that you guys enjoy Chapter 5b. Also I've
been
seeing quite a lot of Mamoru bashing out there which really pisses me
off, I
normally don't care if there are Seiya/Serena pairings...JUST as long
as
Mamoru isn't ripped to shreds, so I had to come up with another
Darien/Serena pairing as soon as possible because I want more positive
Mamoru stuff out there.
Before anything else I wanna thank a lot of people for helping me out
with
this fic and inspiring me. I wanna give a shout out to Hikari-chan for
editing my stuff...thank you thank you thank you! I also hail thee Lady
M.
Harris because if I hadn't bumped into her great epic story 'Moonlight
Midnight Glory' 3 years ago, I wouldn't have been able to delve into
the
wonderful world of Sailor Moon fan fiction. Then my interest was
quickly
fueled by MG19's earlier work and a whole lotta authors that are too
many to
fit in this chapter o' mine.
Anyways, I'm pretty sure that everyone just wants to skip this and go
straight to the story...so here it is ya'll!
Chapter 5b
Lesson 1:'As Graceful as a Swan':
"OH DON'T YOU SLOUCH!"
"WATCH THAT POSTURE OF YOURS YOUNG LADY!"
"OH WILL YOU JUST KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT!"
"HEAD UP HIGH...HEAD UP HIGH...AND MOVE WITH GRACE!"
"OH STOP GALLIVATING LIKE A MARRIONETTE...do it a little more
naturally...NOT TOO NATURAL!"
"OH YOU ARE HOPELESS!" An exhausted Madame Alicia Lunar groaned after
hours
and hour's worth of unsuccessful walking lessons with Serena.
'This isn't easy for me either!' Serena mumbled to herself.
"You have to create a dramatic entrance...one must walk gracefully with
the
head held up HIGH. Like a queen...with hips swinging beautifully,
producing
an air of magnificence to titillate and tempt everyone around. Watch
as an
experienced courtesan, such as I, demonstrates!"
With a haughty smile on her face, Madame Lunar used all her skills as
an
experienced courtesan to rise from her seat with the grace of a
ballerina
and walked to the other seat all the way to the other side of the room
with
all the gracefulness that she lectured about.
"If I can do it, I'm pretty sure that you can get it into your pretty
little
brainless-head how to walk like a courtesan."
Within the next few minutes, Serena successfully follows her aunt's
instructions on the proper way of walking beautifully keeping in mind
to
have her back straight, head help up high, feeling very much like a
princess
while concentrating on the fluffy couch all the way to the other side
of the
room which was to be her goal and walking destination.
"DON'T FLOP INTO THE CHAIR.........insinuate smoothness and grace!"
A baffled Serena followed her aunt's instructions in an
over-exaggerated
way.
"Now that is more like it, with grace and smoothness. Now you can get
up-
DON'T JUMP OUT OF THE CHAIR!"
The last thing that was on Serena's mind at that moment was that this
was
going to be a long day.
*************************************************
Lesson 2: 'Tea Time Anyone?':
"Now to serve tea, one must hold the teapot with the left hand and the
cup
and saucer with the right...always be sure to remember to pick the
teapot
first."
Serena nervously picked up both fragile articles with shaky hands.
"You must remember to hold the cup and saucer firmly. NOT TO TIGHT.
Now,
pour me some tea."
Serena successfully handed her aunt the cup with tea.
"I don't usually have my tea with cream and sugar but always remember
to ask
if cream and sugar is needed. Now... You may serve yourself a cup."
Serena picked another cup and saucer.
"NO NO...THE TEAPOT FIRST!"
As soon as Serena raised the teapot, she accidentally tilted the spout
and
burned herself with the scalding tea, dropping the teapot and the whole
tea
set along with it onto Madame Lunar's yellow chiffon gown in the
process.
"OH YOU CLUMSY..."
************************************************** ******
Lesson 3: 'Choosing the Right Tobacco':
"Now remember to smell the cigar and rattle it gently near your ear to
determine if the cigar is of good quality. It is our responsibility to
give
the men we serve the BEST!"
Charles, the butler, handed Serena the cigar case for the umpteenth
time and
she picked out the last remaining cigar.
Sick and tired of smelling strong nicotine for hours and hours, Serena
reluctantly sniffed the tobacco carefully just as her aunt had
instructed
her and proceeded to rattle the cigar again.
'CLACK!'
"Oh Dear!" Serena groaned.
"Grab another cigar case will you Charles!" Alicia Lunar grumbled.
"I believe that this was the last cigar case we have in stock Madame."
Glancing over at the pile of empty cigar cases on the floor, Madame
Lunar
gave out a weary sigh.
"Get two more from the Cigar shop...WAIT...Make that three cases
instead!"
"As you wish Madame."
And with that, Charles left in a dash.
'This is going to be a long day!' Serena thought as she watched Charles
leave the sitting room.
************************************************** ******
"You'll love Madame Trebissonne!" And excited Madame Alvarez chirped to
Serena as they patiently waited on the couch for the model to present
the
famous modiste's creations. "She happens to be one of the best
modiste's
Paris proudly boasts off.
"Will I choose which dresses I fancy?"
"CERTAINLY NOT! I will have to carry on with that task for you!" Madame
Lunar, who was seated at Serena's right, quickly cut in.
As soon as Madame Lunar finished, the model with lithe ebony tresses,
appeared in the sitting room as she paraded an elegant creation in
cream
with gold embroideries. The dress was magnificent with a plunging scoop
neckline that beautifully exposes the shoulders and accentuates the
neck.
The sleeves were lined with fur and bias cut skirt draped exquisitely
around
the model.
"It is so beautiful!" Serena sighed and immediately envisioned that she
was
wearing the very same dress, parading it for Darien's benefit just as
the
model was parading it for them now. In her mind Darien would cast an
admiring smile and utter for the 100th time how beautiful and exquisite
she
was.
"Are you pleased with the dress Madame?" The modiste, dressed in all
fashionable black -looking sickly yet sophisticatedly thin compared to
other
modistes- asked.
Both Serena and Madame Alvarez glanced their way to Madame Lunar,
waiting
for her decision.
"NO!"
***************************************** ****************
Hours and hours had passed and Madame Lunar picked not one dress that
the
majority had fancied.
"Madame, there must be something that the young lady would like." The
frustrated Madame Trebissonne asked.
"The girl does not know a thing about fashion which is why I have to
choose...as a matter of fact, I think that there is something I would
like
to look at."
Everyone in the room immediately brightened at the prospect of Madame
Lunar
finally picking out a dress.
"I'd like to see the pink traveling dress on Serena."
"Oh no!" Serena groaned.
If Serena's old plaid dress was five sizes too small, the pink
traveling
creation was unflatteringly several sizes too LARGE!
"Oh what a disgrace!" Madame Lunar angrily replied. "THIS WILL NOT
DO...SHE
WILL HAVE TO REQUIRE A FITTING!"
******************************************************** **
And so a fitting it was.
For the remainder of the day, Serena had to contend being pinned,
pinched,
squeezed and tucked uncomfortably for her new wardrobe.
This was going to be a long day indeed!
********************************************************** ******
The next month fetched Darien Lachaille back to Paris; along with him
came
two lightweight coats and flowery straw hats for Serena. Serena, on the
other hand, welcomed Darien as she paraded in front of him in her
periwinkle
laced dress reaching to the ground. Her lustrous curls were arranged in
the
latest Gibson girl hairdo. She looked very much like an alluring and
elegant
woman and not the naive little tomboy that she used to be.
Darien inspected her first with admiring eyes which all of a sudden
turned
into emotionless ones as he noted each detail of the new Serena as she
proudly talked about her slender waist held by a grosgrain sash with a
silver buckle. The full sleeves and wide flounced skirt of blue silk
rustled
delicately, and Serena delighted in pecking at her sleeves to puff them
out
just below the shoulder.
"I liked you much better in your tight little plaid dress! With that
uncomfortable collar you look just like a hen with a full crop! TAKE A
PEEP
AT YOURSELF!"
Ruffled by Darien's words and tired of looking beautiful and acting
more
sophisticated for his benefit only to be insulted, Serena turned around
and
looked Darien straight into his ocean blue eyes.
"I've heard great things about you Darien, but I've never heard it said
that
you had any taste in clothes!"
Shocked by her change of behavior, Darien stared at Serena for several
seconds then immediately turned to Madame Alvarez.
"Such charming manners you and Madame Lunar have taught her! I salute
you
both!"
And with that sarcastic comment, Darien angrily left the apartment
leaving a
slack jawed Madame Alvarez behind.
"OH YOU DESPICABLE GIRL! HOW COULD YOU...and with Darien too!"
"I do not think that there is anything wrong with what I said..... He
deserved it Grandmamma, and besides, he shouldn't blame me for the
cause of
his anger, it's his frustrations that made him mad. Why should he pour
out
his anger on me when it is his frustrations he should be lecturing at!"
"What FRUSTRATIONS are you talking about?"
"Well I saw a bulge forming in his pants, in between his legs as I was
parading in front of him in my dress, Aunt Alicia told me that men are
frustrated when that happens...she calls it men's frustrations and they
are
usually in ill temper if they do not relieve it! It was in bad taste
for him
to make fun of me when he should be finding ways to relieve his
frustration!"
"GO TO YOUR ROOM!"
****************************************************** ********
Several minutes later, a surprised Madame Alvarez found Darien by her
front
door.
"DARIEN! Good heavens, I thought that you had left!"
"I must make amends Mamita!"
Immediately bursting out of the room was Serena, still in her new
dress.
"OH DARIEN! YOU'VE COME BACK!"
"I am truly sorry about what occurred earlier between us, it breaks my
heart
to stay angry with a special girl like you. I guess that I was just so
used
to seeing you in your old plaid dress that I was just too shocked in
seeing
someone who wasn't anything like my very special girl. You look lovely
and
all grown up...and to make it up to you, I will take you out to tea at
Versailles in your new dress...how does that sound?" He asked giving
her a
sweet boyish grin.
"Oh I'd LOVE it!...Grandmamma...could I go...please, please?"
"No."
"Why Grandmamma?"
"Serena...go to your room!"
"Oh Grandmamma!" Serena wailed.
"Go to your room a minute, Serenity! I would like to talk to Monsieur
Lachaille in private."
She watched as Serena left the room and closed the door behind her.
"What is the meaning of all this Mamita? What's going on?"
"Would you like to take a seat first Darien?" Madame Alvarez asked, her
arm
motioning towards the cushioned seat. She sighed when she didn't get a
response from Darien and decided to remain standing next to him.
"Darien, you cannot doubt my friendship for you. Veronique, as you
know, has
neither the time nor the sense of responsibility to look after the
girl. Our
Serenity has not got the common sense to make her own way in the world,
like
so many. She is just a child that is coming into age."
Madame Alvarez placed a hand on her heart.
"If it was only me and you Darien, I should say to you that you may
take
Serena anywhere you two want to. I entrust her to you blindly...but
there
are always the others. The eyes of the world are on you especially
whenever
you are with a woman..."
"All right, all right. I understand. You want me to believe that once
she is
seen having tea with me, Serena is compromised! A slip of a girl, a
flapper,
a chit whom no one notices!"
"Let us say rather...that she will be labeled. A young girl who goes
out
alone with you is no longer just an ordinary girl, or even- to put
bluntly-
a respectable girl, at least by not being compromised for. So far as it
concerns you, it will simply end in one more story to be added to the
long
list already in existence, but personally, when I read of it in Gil
Blas, I
shall not be amused."
"Very good Mamita, I have no wish to VEX you! I shan't argue!" He said
coldly. "Keep your precious child for someone who will give her all the
luxuries she wants. I can't help wondering as a matter of interest,
whom you
are keeping her for! Some old rich man with a wife?"
And with that he left the apartment slamming the door.
Once alone, Madame Alvarez went to open the door of Serena's room.
"You were listening at the door Serena!"
"No Grandmamma."
"Don't lie, you had your ear to the key-hole. You must never listen at
keyholes. You don't hear properly and so you get all things wrong."
"Grandmamma..."
"What?"
"What difference does it make to you if you'd let me go out with Darien
in
my new dress?"
"SILENCE! If you can't understand anything about anything, at least let
those capable of using their reason to do so for you!"
********************************************* ********************
A week later Darien put in an appearance without ringing the bell. He
barged
into the apartment catching Serena folding some blankets, still dressed
in
her nightgown. She was a sight to see that morning, lustrous golden
locks
framing her face and a ripe young body that was hinted by the thin
material
of her nightdress.
"Oh! Grandmamma left the door unlocked. She always does that."
As Darien looked at her without saying a word, she began to blush and
covered herself with one of the blankets.
"I have something to say to your grandmother...run into your room
Serena!"
Darien ordered.
Jumping off the stool, Serena angrily huffed. "Run into your room...run
into
your room! Who do you think you are here ordering me into my room! All
right
I am going to my room and as long as you are in here, I shan't come out
of
it!"
She slammed the door behind her and there was a dramatic click at the
bolt.
"Darien! I shall insist on the child apologizing...yes I shall
insist..."
Darien was not listening to her, and stood staring at the closed door.
"Now, Mamita, let us talk briefly and to the POINT!"
THE END...
Hehehehehehe...just kidding! Why would I end it here ppl. Anyways give
reviews please and wait for Chapter 6!
