Morning came all to early for Mamoru. He would have been content to lie in bed and snooze. The second he decided to do so, a ghostly figure was hovering over him, laughing. “Get up, sleepy head! You have a lot of things to do today!” Came the all too perky voice.
The king knew that laugh anywhere. “Go away, Zoisite.” He muttered into the pillows. The ghost didn't go away. Instead, he felt a hand trying to shake him. Only the hand went through him. “Let me sleep.” Then to prove that he was not getting up for anything, Mamoru rolled himself further into the covers. In doing so, he came face to face with the curly haired general.
Zoisite shook his head. “No you don't.” He announced. Mamoru felt a cold draft. His general had used some of his latent power to knock the blanket away. “You have some thing to discuss with the Queen. And here she comes now.” The general disappeared as the door opened.
Mamoru was struck speechless. Neo Queen Serenity was beautiful as ever. She was all in white and carried her body with poise. She was every inch a queen. The Queen didn't greet her King with a bright smile. There was a serous look on her face. “I am sorry if I woke you up.” She stated regally, seeming not to care that Mamoru still sat in bed.
“I was just about to get up.” Mamoru said, smiling. He knew he wasn't. Had the queen not appeared, the dark haired man would have stayed in bed the rest of the day. He was silently grateful that Ziosite had warned him. How the man had known that Usagi had been on her way was beyond him. Mamoru was going to have a long talk with his generals after this was all over.
“I heard we had an ordeal in the garden last night.” The Queen didn't look at all happy. An ordeal. That was an understatement. Fiore had shown up, tried to beat the Outers into a pulp, and caused the generals to talk to Sailor Pluto.
“An ordeal?” Mamoru tried to look as if he didn't know what she meant by that. He wondered how Usagi found out about Fiore appearance. Michiru had made her lover promise not to tell on him. The Princess of Neptune understood how Mamoru felt for Fiore. She had even wished them all the happiness in the world. He knew they wouldn't tell. And Setsuna definitely knew how to keep a secret.
“Don't play dumb with me, Endymion. Small Lady told me that that Fiore monster showed up last night.” The Queen sounded vexed. She didn't like the idea of the peace she had fought for being shattered. Let alone by someone, who for all intents and purposes should be dead.
“How can you say that? Fiore isn`t a monster!” Mamoru shouted, leaping to his feet. He was angry now. He loved Fiore and he was going to defend the alien, because the alien wasn't there to do it himself. That and because what happened in the past wasn't his fault. They had both been young and stupid. Usagi had healed Fiore of that evil.
“So you admit he was here.” She hadn't lost her all her calmness. Still, there was a hint of anger in her voice. She didn't like how her husband had reacted to the situation. If anything, he was siding against her. Logically, the Queen knew that the alien wanted something. If he hadn't, he would have never returned to Earth. Neo Queen Serenity wondered if he was back for the same reasons he had the last time. “What did he want?”
“I don't know. He didn't say.” It was a blatant lie.
“I see.” Came the distant reply. Mamoru wanted to say more, but the queen had already swept out of the room, leaving Mamoru to think. Only thing he could think of was getting the hell out of Crystal Tokyo and away from Usagi before she discovered his lie for what it was. Most of all, he thought of Fiore. He wanted the alien man so badly it made his heart hurt. He wanted to see Fiore so badly, he would sacrifice anything to have the man back in his arms.
Mamoru was shocked when he heard a voice from within his head. It was a cool voice. It reminded him of Kunzite. He looked to the box of stones. The were glowing. One by one his generals emerged. They did it by rank. “You said to wait four days. So be patient, boy!”
“He'll be back.” Mamoru saw Nephrite toss his brunette hair over his shoulder. “And you can tell him how you really feel.”
“When he does, take him to Elysion. I'll bet he'd love it there.” Jadeite seemed to smile. All the generals remember Elysion fondly. They knew it from the past. During the Silver Millennium their Price had resided there.
Mamoru smiled. He loved his generals so very much. They had endured Hell because of him. They had been held captive by the powers of Queen Beryl, and had been brutalized by him when he himself had been taken over. Yet, after all the torture, they remained loyal to him. They were willing to walk into death for him. “My friends... I've changed my mind. You aren't ever going to look for him. I won't let you die.” The generals seemed almost relieved.
“That's good.” Ziosite stated. “It would have been a colossal waste of time anyways.” The pony tailed general laughed when Mamoru looked at him. “Because he's right outside...” Then generals all laughed now, and started to vanish.
“What do you mean, he's right outside?” Mamoru demanded. The generals were gone, and the door was opening again. He turned to look at the man in the doorway. Fiore looked back at him. There were tear tracks on his face.
“Forgive me...” Fiore said, quietly. His voice cracked as he sobbed quietly. “Please forgive me.”
