Chapter 16 - True Love Exists
By Angel Love
Author's notes: This is the middle chapter to Rose's true love during this timeline.
Standard disclaimers apply. I don't own Sailor Moon, the Greek Gods or any of the characters that I've used to fashion them after. The Guardians are mine, and Angel will kick your butt if you try to take her.
Two weeks later found us all getting ready in Count Waywridge's Mansion on his estate. I had informed Rosely of Rose's decision to give up being a Guardian for a time. She had taken it rather well. However she informed me that Trista and I would be taking on all of Rose's responsibilities and that if anything major happened Rose would be called back to duty since she was still a senshi, even if she was trying to live a normal life for awhile.
I had readily agreed. I wanted Rose to be able to enjoy her time with her soul mate. After all, it wasn't very often that a love like my twin had found came along. I only felt badly that I could not see a way for them to always be together. I made a note to myself to talk to Hades and Aphrodite about perhaps coming up with something for Allen so that he could live forever with Rose.
I sat perched on a chair, listening to the sounds around me as I watched Allen through the window. He was showing Vega and Osmound around while he set up the last minute details.
I was already fully dressed in light blue velvet brocade that was lined with small pearls and laced loosely in the front with golden ties over an ivory satin under dress. The velvet sleeves were laced onto my shoulders to move as fluidly as I did. My fingers played idly with the pearls that dangled from the small chain on my waist, they slid up the pearls slowly to trace the gold double heart emblem that the pearls were attached to before they traveled back down.
Trista was sitting quietly next to me. Her dress was very similar to mine except her brocade was a light purple and it was lined with small beads. She had a small belt that surrounded her waist as well but it held her own signia symbol of Pluto and instead of the long strand of pearls, it was a strand of tiny rubies. She gently reached over and took my hand in hers and smiled at me when I looked at her nervously, whispering, "Everything is going to turn out alright, Angel. She isn't leaving you forever. Allen has already given the two of us rooms here to stay here. When we have the time, we will come and visit."
I smiled faintly at her and nodded, blushing that my thoughts were so transparent. However, her reading me like that should not have surprised me since she had grown to be so wise in the centuries that we had been alive. "I know, I guess I am just being selfish because I always thought she and I would always be together."
Trista shook her head, the ringlets her hair was in shaking a little around her. "No, if you were selfish you would not have agreed to take on all of her responsibilities so she could be here."
I wrinkled my nose. "I am not the only one stuck with taking on everything that Rose has been doing. You were put in charge of it as well. "
She smiled and shook her head. "It is not the same and you know it, Angel." She grinned when I started to argue with her. "Do not argue with me, Angel. I have learned all of the tricks that you used on me throughout the times."
I stuck my tongue out at her childishly before we both looked up to see Rose's young maid coming into the room. She was a pretty young thing, not very tall, probably a little under five and a half feet. Her long curly black hair was pinned at the nape of her neck and the forest green dress that she was wearing for the day seemed to bring out the excitement in her silver gray eyes. She was the only servant that knew of the truth about us and Rose, Trista and I got a kick out of the way she would giggle excitedly and ask us to tell her about our lives and the things we have seen.
"Hello Aurora," I said softly. "Is Rose almost ready?"
She smiled brightly at me. "She is, Miss Angel. I think she is just a bit nervous. She keeps making me change the style of her hair." She giggled girlishly. "It is back to the original one that you decided upon yesterday though."
Trista and I shook our heads in amusement. We had never seen Rose get as flustered as she had been for the last two weeks. It was kind of fun to see her act out of her usually well put together character.
I rose slowly, stretching just a bit. "I think I will go see if I can calm her down. Tris, will you make sure that Allen is ready? I think the ceremony is due to start in twenty minutes." I looked at Aurora for confirmation, smiling when she nodded her head once. "The last I saw him, he was showing Vega and Osmound around outside there." I pointed towards the window.
Trista nodded and rose. "Alright, I should also check to make sure the other Guardians have not caused any trouble as well. Chesna does like to gather attention sometimes."
I giggled at Trista, knowing that she was right. I followed Aurora into the next room, smiling at the sight of Rose worrying her bottom lip in front of the mirror. She looked beautiful in her wedding dress. It had slim fitting sleeves to just above her elbow where it had silver Celtic embroidery pulling it tightly against her before it flared out in a long poet's sleeve over a slim fitting one. There was a silver, jeweled belt that drooped low on her waist, accenting it. A beautiful silver pattern of her signia ran along the bottom of the dress and across the small train. Her hair was in a long twisting braid that ran down her back to fall at her calves, the ends of it curled.
She turned slowly to look at me, revealing that wisps of her hair had been left free to be curled into small ringlets to frame her beautiful face. She gave me a nervous smile. "Is it time? Does this look alright? Is he going to think I'm good enough to be his wife?"
I smiled softly and came forward, taking her hands in mine. "Oh, Rose, you are very beautiful. He is going to have to have his jaw manually closed when he sees you." I winked at her and giggled softly.
Rose blushed and squeezed my hands, tears bright in her black eyes. "Thank you, Angel, I think I just needed you to help calm me down. I am a bit nervous."
Aurora giggled, trying to hide the smirk on her face. "I told you that I should have gone to retrieve her a long time ago, my Lady."
Rose sent her a look before her face softened to a smile. I knew from a past conversation with Rose that she had been trying to get Aurora to just call her Rose instead of such a formal title. Aurora however insisted that the rules must be followed otherwise it would cause even more attention to be drawn to the beautiful mysterious girl that had stolen the Count's heart, since many hearts were bound to be broken once he officially took my twin as his wife.
There was a soft knock on the door and Aurora went to answer it, allowing Trista to come in with Brenna. The shy Guardian looked quite beautiful in her violet emerald overdress and a turquoise satin underskirt over a hoop skirt. The arms were a white slightly sheer material with a beautiful velvet arm covering that hugged her upper arm, puffing out before it closed at her wrist. She had on a pretty coronet that adorned her head, with her soft, short brown hair slightly curled around her face.
She gave me a shy smile before she gasped in delight at Rose, coming over to her and taking her hands from mine, making Rose blink slightly. "Oh, Rose, you look so pretty!"
Rose blushed but smiled at Brenna, even though she was still a bit surprised at the excitement in Brenna's brown eyes. "Thank you, Brenna. You look very nice yourself."
She blushed and shifted a little, glancing at herself in the mirror. "Thank you. Angel picked out the dress, but Chesna helped me figure out how to get it on. I've never been to Earth before so I didn't really know how to do any of this."
I giggled softly. "It takes some practice. We had help when we first got here. We still have to help each other with tying things, but the hoop skirts and chemises are much easier to manage now."
My sisters nodded, both blushing a little before Rose looked at Trista, who remained quiet with tears shining in her crimson eyes. "Trista, are you okay?"
Trista nodded, smiling a watery smile at Rose. "They are right. You do look beautiful. It is hard to believe that you are actually getting married. I remember when you were with Hades."
She smiled back but this time it was a little sad. "Yes, it is hard to believe." She looked back into the mirror, sighing.
I blinked slowly, glancing at Aurora, who shrugged since she was not at all sure why Rose suddenly looked so sad. I put my hand on her shoulder. "Rose, what's wrong?"
Rose wiped a tear quickly before she looked at me. "I guess I'm a little upset that Hades refused to come. I know he is capable of hiding that he is a God from everyone around."
I sighed softly, giving her a quick hug. "I know, Ro, but he was always hoping that you two would get back together after the last time you broke up, even though it has been almost fifty years. Just give him a little time. He will get over it and then he will come and give you and Allen all the blessings you can handle. I know you loved him once. He will always love you."
She smiled at me, hugging me tightly and smoothing my hair from my face. "I know he will. I guess I just needed to hear that too." She quickly pulled herself together as we heard another knock. She nodded for Aurora to get it.
This time it was Allen's brother who poked his blonde head into the room. He winked at me flirtatiously, making me giggle and shake my head at him before he whistled at Rose and came into the room. He gave her a brotherly kiss on the cheek. "My lady, you look beautiful. It is time for my brother to break my heart by making you his bride. Might I escort you down to the hall after these lovely young ladies leave to find their seats?"
Rose giggled at Marcus before she shot me another nervous glance. I smiled softly at her and kissed her cheek. "Relax, Ro, today is going to be perfect." Then I ushered Brenna and Trista from the room, leaving Aurora and Marcus with Rose.
I glanced back through the open door to see her glance in the mirror one last time before she turned to allow Aurora to put a few white flowers in her braid. It was hard to believe that in a few hours she would be the Countess of Waywridge and I would leave here without her so she could have her honeymoon. I was so happy that she had found happiness but something seemed to still unsettle me as we walked into the big hall of the Mansion and found our seats.
I smiled as Chesna scooted over for Brenna to come sit next to her. She was very pretty in her navy velveteen overdress that was lined with a pretty satin design at the bust. She wore a white chemise underneath that shown at her bust and at the openings at her side. She too was wearing a coronet with her hair pulled into six braids that were tucked up. I shook my head. She of course would choose a slightly different fashion than everyone else, but somehow on her it just seemed to work wonderfully.
I smiled at Osmound who sat down next to Brenna on her other side. He looked quite handsome in his noble's robe worn over a white shirt that puffed over the sleeves a little. The robe was black with a design done along the edges all and laced together over the front of him to his knees. He wore the normal black hosen and a pair of soft black shoes. He smiled and nodded back to me before he took his sister's hand in his and patted it.
I noticed that Rosely had taken a seat next to Chesna. She smiled slightly at me before she shifted a little in her seat. She looked stunning in her rich mulberry taffeta with black accents gown. There was black lace on the front of it at her breast with a beautiful pendant in the middle. Her sleeves were straight to her elbow where it flared out in black satin and lace that came down to cover the tops of her hands. She had the top skirt swag with jeweled pins to show off the black underskirt. Resting in her lap was a marabou peacock feather fan.
I turned as I felt a hand on my elbow, smiling when I saw Vega standing there. He was wearing a velvet doublet that was lined with fur and tied together with a sash at his waist, showing off the white shirt underneath it. Like Osmound, he too was wearing black hosen and soft black shoes. His shoulder length hair had been pulled back in a silk ribbon giving him a tiny ponytail. He bowed his head slightly to me while I giggled at his gentlemanly manners. "My ladies, let me escort you to your seats?"
Trista smiled at him and hooked her arm through his while I did the same on the other side and he led us to row of seats in front of the others. He helped me to sit down carefully before he did the same with Trista. Then he sat down in the middle of us, taking my hand in his and patting it softly as he whispered, "Relax, Angel, you know you can come visit her any time."
I smiled at him, letting him hold my hand in his. "I'm going to be okay. Besides, this is Rose's day. I have to be happy for her. She has finally found what she was looking for."
He smiled at me and handed me a silk handkerchief, winking at me when I lifted an eyebrow. Then he nodded to where Allen had joined the priest at the front of the great hall. The light reflected off of his white crepe satin cape that flowed down over him to his feet. He smiled and winked at me before he looked to the back of the church, shifting his sword a little at his waist as he waited for Rose.
`He looks very handsome,' I mentally told my sister. `And he is just as nervous as you.'
I heard her give a relieved sounding laughter before the music started up and we all stood. There were lots of gasps of delight as she and Marcus came into view. She seemed to glide across the floor, which had been covered in white and light pink rose petals, as she moved towards her groom to be. Her eyes were only for him as he took his hands into his and brought her up to the priest.
He looked like he was awe-struck by her beauty and it took the priest to clear his throat twice before Allen had pulled his eyes away from Rose and to smile sheepishly at the priest. "I am sorry, but her beauty had stolen my thoughts for a moment."
Rose blushed and giggled as many of the men folk around had voiced their agreement through the soft laughter that went around. She did not look away from his face however, just brought his hand to her lips and kissed it softly.
The candles around them seemed to dance and give off even more light around them as the vows were exchanged. Many awws were spread through the woman as Rose cried softly as Allen slipped a solid gold ring onto her finger and then kissed her hand. The only thing that stopped him from kissing her at that time was the priest informing him that it was not yet time to do that.
I held my breath as the priest asked if anyone had any objections for their hands to be joined together and Hades appeared at the back of the church. He smiled and waved his hand for the ceremony to continue as he strode silently to sit next to me. He gave me a smile and took my free hand in his, his look telling me all that I needed to know. He could not miss Rose finally finding her happiness.
As the priest announced for Allen to kiss his bride, Rose blushed and gave him a very shy smile. She giggled softly as he cupped her face and whispered that he loved her before he gave her a sweet, tender kiss. A great cheer went up all around as the new Countess was introduced to the crowd that had gathered. As Rose smiled up at Allen, I had to admit that she had never looked more beautiful and more at peace than she had at that moment. It was then that I felt myself finally letting her go and being just as happy as she was that true love really did exist for us.
To be continued…

1) Aurora is based off a description Rinne gave to me for a character. I am grateful for the wonderful comments that she has given to me to help me along with this story.
