Chapter One: The Mistake

Darien looked outside his bedroom window, it was still nighttime and the stars were shining brightly and on the horizon clouds threatened to come and take away the beautiful sight, but that didn't matter he was still mad at the others.

******FLASHBACK******

Darien was walking down the stairs when he heard his named mentioned by Jadeite "You know Darien can be a pain in the ass all the time, I think we just leave him. He doesn't deserve people like us if he's going to treat us like crap all the time."

"I agree with you, Jadeite, but we just can't do that. What would his father do once he found out? We had him fooled into thinking that Darien was one of our best friends." Said Nephrite.

"Nephrite, his father wouldn't care. I've already talked to him about it if something like this was to happen. He said that he wouldn't care and that he would just let him be on his own."

"Well, Zoicite, what about Serena? What would she think? I'm sure if she found out she would definitely kill us." Malachite stated.

"For once he makes sense."

"Shut Up Jadeitie!"

"Fine if you think that I'm an ass to you guys then leave right now, because I don't want to deal with you guys any more. I'll be just fine with out you guys." With that he stormed upstairs and slammed the door. Downstairs the others were a little shocked and confused. He wasn't supposed to hear that, thought Malachite. Slowly they packed their things and left the small little cottage that Darien and them shared so they wouldn't have to put up with the palace life. They left not knowing what lies before them. Not knowing if they would see Darien, Serenity, or the scouts again.

******END OF FLASHBACK*****

He could barely see them; he knew that he might never get to see them again.

Suddenly he felt arms wrap around his waist and a head lay in the nook of his neck. "Hello Serena." He whispered with somewhat of a sadden tone in his voice. She let go of him and turned him around to where they were looking eye to eye.

"What's wrong, love?"

"It's nothing. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."

"No you're not, I can see it in your eyes. Please tell me what's wrong?"

"Well if it really matters to you, my generals just left because I treated them like crap and my father wouldn't care. So I'm all alone in this world now."

"Why would you say a thing like that? You still have me or are you going to push me away as well?"

"I don't know Serenity. I'm afraid of hurting you too. I couldn't bare to see you be hurt by me. Could you do me a favor?"

"Any thing my love."

"Will you give me a few days to think and be by myself so I can collect my thoughts?"

She hesitated a moment before saying, "Sure. If you need me you know where to find me." He slightly shook his head in agreement. In a bright flash Serenity went back to her kingdom on the moon.

***A FEW DAYS LATER***

After a few days went by Serenity came to see Darien. He was sitting at his desk staring at paperwork, but wasn't doing anything with them. She could see that his focus was on something else. "What are you thinking about?" She came over and sat next to him. He turned and looked her square in the eye. She saw the pain and regret in his eyes and she knew what was coming.

"I'm so sorry Princess Serenity, but we can't see each other any more." He held his head high. Serenity didn't say a word. She just got up and left never to return. He just sat there thinking about what he did. How could I do that to the girl that I love, he thought to himself. He felt a tear run down his cheek. Soon they were in a steady stream.

Meanwhile on the Moon, Serenity ran to her room with tear streaming down her face. Of course the girls were in her room in a mere two seconds of their best friend. The first one to talk of course was Rei. "What did that creep do to you? I told you he wasn't good for you!"

"He bro…brok…he broke up with me." She said in a trembling whisper. The girls just looked at her in sympathy. "Can you please leave me alone for awhile?" They didn't say anything, all they did was turn around and leave. Outside Ami said, "What are we going to do? I can't bare to see Serena looking like this."

"I agree with you Ami. I thought they would have made it, you know me being the daughter of the Goddess of Love." Said Mina. "But I think he might have a good reason to have done that. I say we go and found out what's wrong with his highness."

"Oh Mina, forget about it, it doesn't matter what he did!" Rei said in an angry whisper. "He broke her heart and now Serena won't ever be the same."

A flash of bright silver made Darien cover his eyes. Before stood a very angry looking woman. She had lavender hair that went passed her ankles, her eyes were a deep purple that flared with anger. She wore a dress similar to Serena's but it had no sleeves and flowed behind her with an invisible wind, and she was about two inches shorter then he was. "Wh…who…who are you?"

"A very angry goddess, Endymion Darien Andrew Shields!" Darien gulped. He had seen this goddess in paintings and such, but she always had a happy mood. Her name was Nichele, Goddess of Sword masters and fighters. "How could you have done that to Serena!?"

"I had to, I didn't want to hurt her like I had hurt my generals." He whispered softly.

"You see, that never would have happened. Now that you broke up with her, you did hurt her and the future as we know it will change forever!"

"Why do you care about mortal affairs, such as Serena's and mine?"

"Because that girl you hurt is my bloody sister and I don't like it when she's like this! No I'm not going to explain it right now, all will be explained in due time. Remember my words, and I'll be watching over you my dear Darien." The young prince sat there in silence and disbelief of what he just heard. `I didn't know she had a sister who a great goddess.' He thought to himself.
