Chapter I

"Mama!!!" The little girl in the sailor fuku ran towards a falling figure. Before she could get there, a tall figure grabbed her and gently placed her against her chest.

"Puu!! What's going on!!" A sad smile crossed the face of the striking woman with long green hair. It was so cute how Hikari called her Puu, just as Chibi-Usa did. That was of course, years ago. She rarely saw Small Lady anymore. Too much training. But this was distant in her mind; her first concern lay on the barren ground. Her dear Saturn. Blood ran from her forehead in trickles. It ran slowly towards one eye, and Pluto brushed it away. It left a bloody trail on her temple. Tears began to cloud Pluto's vision and she blinked them furiously. The guardian of time had never cried in front of anyone, not even her dearest companions. Saturn looked up at her, smiling.

"You can cry, Setsuna-mama." It was a weak smile, full of pain. The tears began to cascade down Sailor Pluto's face, dripping down on Hotaru's bloody face. A bloody hand groped around in the air, and then someone took it. Sailor Pluto looked over to see Uranus, tears running down her face like smooth streams.

"Saturn!! Don't go!!!" Uranus squeezed Saturn's hand tighter, as if she would keep her in the living by her own will. Another person took Sailor Saturn's other hand. It was Neptune. Her face was composed, yet her eyes showed another story. They glittered with unspilt tears and were deep with sadness and despair. Her long, elegant hand entwined with Saturn's. Pluto sat down next to sat gently, placing Hikari on the ground. When she saw Saturn, she shrieked. "Mama!!" She cried. She ran and threw herself on her mother's wracked body, ignoring the feel of the warm blood on her soft legs.

"Mama...Mama." She sobbed, tears mixing with blood.

"Hikari." Saturn pried her hand away from Uranus and began to gently stroke Hikari's hair. Hikari's sobs grew louder.

"Hikari, look at me." Hikari picked up her face immediately. It was red and puffed, and her bottom lip quivered slightly. Hotaru waited until all the scouts were huddled around them, then began.

"Give me your hand, Hikari." Hikari did so with no question. It was amazing at the complete trust Chibi-Saturn had in her mother. As their hands clasped, Hikari felt something enter her. It was a fullness, and yet it was emptiness. She felt herself going limp in her mother's arms. "Hikari, I'm sorry." When the girl was asleep and Hotaru had her heart crystal gently in her hand, Jupiter moved little Hikari away gently, with the care of a mother. Her eyes were glittering with fresh tears.

"Sailor Moon. Queen. I ask you to keep this. When Hikari is older." Hotaru broke off choking, spitting blood. Sailor Moon nodded at Saturn.

"I will Hotaru-chan." Her voice cracked with a sob. "I will." Saturn offered her a quick smile. Eternal Sailor Moon took the crystal, carefully holding to her chest.

"I will live on in her, for now. Teach her as you taught me, Setsuna-mama, Haruka-papa, Michiru-mama." There was suddenly a bright flash, and a young girl with bright pink hair ran to them, followed by a man in black clothes with long, dark brown hair. "Hotaru-chan!!!! Hotaru!!!!" They yelled together, running towards the fallen senshi. The girl nearly tripped, then doubled her speed. Small Lady collapsed next to Hotaru, sobs wracking her slim body. The man stood quietly over Hotaru, watching as Small Lady sobbed over Hotaru's chest.

"Ho-Hotaru!!" Saturn clasped her hand gently, as if to soothe her.

"Chibi-Usa. I love you."

"I love you too, Hotaru." Her voice shook. Hotaru reached up once to stroke Chibi-Usa's hair gently, then Small Lady moved out of the way, allowing the man to come forward.

"Raven..." Hotaru coughed, blood spurting out of her mouth and trickled down her chin. Sailor Pluto ripped of a piece of her fuku and dabbed at it gently. Raven took Hotaru's hand, a tear finally seeping out of his blue eyes. Hotaru smiled weakly at him.

"Hotaru...please..." Hotaru shook her head.

"Raven...I cannot remain here after using my powers to defeat her. You know that as well as I." Raven nodded, admitting defeat.

"Hotaru. I love you..." Hotaru smiled again, lifting a hand to touch his cheek.

"None of you despair. I will return, for my spirit is immortal. Raven, I love you...take care of our dearest..." She whispered, her eyes fluttering shut and the hand that touched Raven's cheek falling to her side gently. Raven gently lowered his head to kiss her lips, and Chibi-Usa gave her one last kiss on the forehead. Small Lady then stood quietly, eyes fixated on Hotaru's beautiful daughter, her daughter who would remember nothing of this day.
