Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Love Hurts ❯ relationship problems ( Chapter 4 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]

Wow ppo, chapter 4 already? It seems like I just started. So how is my story so far? No thanx to an unhappy reviewer who flamed every single chapter, I stopped writing. Now im going on a witch hunt. Who will join me?

Disclaimer: man o man, if I owned SM, I'd have Darien on his knees. (along with the rest of the generals). Now, I only said if, so don't go sueing me now.

Some insight on Darien: look, some of you have reviewed me that Darien has completely changed from the Darien in Chapters 1 and 2. Well… maybe he is opposite. I can't tell you why I did that yet, but as you read on, you'll find out. Because on the outside he is dark and arrogant, but on the inside, what is he really?

Read on and find out!

Relationship problems

While Serena was in her room recovering, Darien was either pacing or sitting down drumming his fingers or pinching the bridge of his nose to relieve the stress. He did this in Serena's room and the throne room.

Everyone avoided him because of the dark look on his face. He felt angry that Alan had tried to take Serena away from him. Why did he feel angry? Because she was his! `MINE' was the first thing that came to mind when he looked at her. Besides, everyone knew not to lay a hand on her because of the ring that he had given her.

His gaze softened for a moment as he glanced at Serena. Her lustrous hair was splayed out across the bed. The golden locks were silvery. Inwardly he sighed, her hair still had some lustrous shine to it, but most of it was gone. Her face was gaunt and this was only a shadow of the Serena that he knew.

Where the original one had gone, he did not know. She was no longer his concern. His whoring ways had displeased him already. Andrew may have been his friend, but the night he had found them together in his very own bed, and in a tight embrace, Darien had lost it. That night, he had lost his temper and had taken it out on her. She fled into their room and locked the door. Minutes later, he found it open, with Serena sobbing into Andrew's chest.

Andrew held Serena tight while kissing the top of her head.

But now Darien really wondered. Serena told him that she still loved him and would never betray him. Was she lying or telling the truth?

What if she was telling the truth? Would she ever be able to forgive him?

A soft knock on the door alerted him. Rini walked in and crawled into his lap.

“Is Serena okay?”

He didn't answer her because he truly did not know if Serena was alright. The Serena lying in front of him was an empty shell and broken.

Rini sighed and pushed against his chest to make him let her go. She climbed on the bed and played with Serena's hair for a while. Darien watched enviously as her fingers went through Serena's hair. He used to love running his fingers through Serena's hair. Since he had turned to others, he no longer felt satisfied and fulfilled. Serena had made him happy whenever he was with her.

She didn't mind that he was always busy and seldom had time for her. She didn't mind when he had nothing to give her, all she requested was something simple and his love. Love. What is love? How does one define it?

Serena described love as infinite. There are too many ways to describe it. In truth, Serena loved everyone, but what he was doing towards her, should have made her hate him, instead she gave him pity and love. Love. There was that word again. When would it go away?

Others saw him as cold, arrogant, and a brute. Serena worshipped him where his stood and watched him through adoring eyes. Through Serena, he would have Rini. Rini made him fell happy along with Serena. But this Rini was from the future. He didn't know how long the engagement would truly last. How many years had it already been?

As he sat there and brooded, Serena woke. She watched him quietly under her eyelashes. She brushed Rini to the side to let her up. Weakly, she made her way to Darien and knelt before him.

She cupped his face and made him look at her. She searched his eyes for a fleeting glimpse of the loving Darien that she had once loved. Where was he? Here and there, the present Darien would drop hints of the former one.

Darien glared at her as she searched his face. Her deep cerulean eyes unnerved him. It felt like she was looking into his soul.

He threw her hands off of him and hissed, “Get off me, you cow! I don't want you near me or to touch me!”

With that, he stormed out of the room with Rini hurrying after his wake.

Serena remained kneeling and unmoving. Once again Darien had cast her to the side and broken her heart. Was it really that hard for Darien to love her? He had her undying love for him, but why couldn't he return it? Last night, after the incident, Darien had locked the unconscious Alan in the dungeon. He ordered the Senshi to bring Serena into her room and lock the door from the outside, so she wouldn't get any ideas on escaping with Alan. Then, he went into his chambers and into Anne's arms and retired for the night.

Meanwhile, the Senshi stood guard outside Serena's door. Serena woke up a little while later because of all the noise that Darien and Anne were waking. She covered her ears and sobbed. She crawled underneath the covers and huddled shivering. Through out the night, she couldn't sleep. Images of Darien and Anne assaulted and haunted her through out the night. It was cold and the windows were barred. There was a fireplace that was never lit. The room was pitch black and the wind howled outside.

What was it truly like outside? She hadn't been outside in how many years? Sure she went to school, but it was indoors. All the windows were barred and tinted, so no light went through.

That had been last night. She didn't know where that slut was now. If she did see her at the moment, she felt like clawing Anne's eyes out. This was not the loving Serena that everyone knew. This was the Serena that Darien had transformed.

Maybe when she was free of Darien, she could change back into the Serena she had once been. It would take some time to heal though, how long it would take, she did not know.

End Chapter

Sorry ppo about the short chapter! I'm developing writer's block slowly as I type. I noe that I should dedicate myself to my reviewers and my stories…but it's hard to. Lol.

So how am I doing so far? O yeah! Forgot to mention. Anyone interested in RK fiction here? Cuz I have a new fic called Painful Anguish. It's a misao and aoshi coupling. Cool huh? *sighs. Again with the angst and darkness. Well wut can I say? It's my specialty. Well it's also because I have a twisted mind. But that's not important rite now.

Ok ppo, let's have a vote:

(1) Should Serena and Darien have a happily ever after? (but with lots of difficulties of course)

OR

(2) Should Serena and Darien not have a happily ever after?

I shall list the polls as I go on with later chapters.
Here are the polls: 6 ppo say no to a happily ever after
27 say yes with one have her mother interfere
3 said that Serena should go with Andrew because a reviewer commented that darien is an arse
serena gets back at everyone who hurts her
Serena should break down, and threaten to kill herself on the day of her wedding. She should say something like, "If I die, Rini will never be born," and stuff like that. Or Serena is like dying... and only Alan can save her, and so he takes her and she falls for him or something. o.o;; Or the Senshi's betray Darian and kick his butt.
Semi-happy ending
Serena dies and darien forgets everything else
a reviewer told me that she would be happy with my choice
and another reviewer told me that my story would be a big hit anyways because im smart…that's cool.
A reviewer also commented or flame (I don't noe which one the reviewer intended) that alan came on too strongly and the chapter was just wrong. Okay. So I guess that's a no darien vote?
