Chapter 6 - The Princess

Murmuring reached my ears as the sound of girls talking invaded my privacy. I opened my eyes but the vision was nothing but a blur.

"Come on Serenity what are you waiting for!" yelled a voice.

"Hold on a minute! I'm almost ready." Said the one called Serenity.

"We'll if you don't hurry the Ball will start with out you!" a more irritated voice called out. A creek sounded and heels clattered across a hard floor.

My impaired vision improved enough to see an outline of the people but no great physical features (eyes, mouth, nose, etc). A woman appeared gracing her presence on eight other women around her.

"Ready?" the blonde haired one, said in a voice that sweetened the air.

"Right!" The other cried in unison. And so two by two they made their way down the hall. The Serenity girl bringing up the caboose.

I felt my body race through the wind peering through an open window it seemed. Staring thoroughly at the great celebration thing before her.

Again my vision cleared this time perfectly. I looked around the room people were every were laughing, drinking, and just having a swell old time. On the farthest wall right in the center stood two large thrones. Sitting in one a lovely woman with silver hair sat surveying the people about her.

"Now Approaching, the Angel of the Moon. Her Royal Highness Princess Serenity!" bellowed a guard, who was now opening the doors of this great hall. Silence filled the room as the nine girls entered the room.

The women entered the room and slowly marched to the thrones by a path formed by the onlookers. As they reached the thrones the girls would separate into two lines around the throne's platform. However when the young blonde reached it walking straight to the unoccupied throne turned and faced the people.

The older woman stood and began to speak, " I Queen Serenity of the Moon wish to introduce the heir of my kingdom Princess Serenity. This celebration is in honor of her sixteenth birthday and I thank all of you for attending. Please fill free to dance and eat all that you wish. Now please continue to enjoy yourselves." And with that they both sat down and applause over came the silence.

Now I could get a better look at them both. The Queen was tall and more beautiful than I had ever seen her silvery hair was tied in two buns located on either side of her head with the excess hair flowing down in voluptuous ponytails. Her violet eyes scanned the room and finally to her daughter. The princess had been asked to dance and was stepping off the platform, guided by a brown haired young man of her own height.

The Princess was her mothers duplicate with the long hair only the color blonde and her eyes of sapphire. She danced with all the men young and old before kindly edging her way to the balcony relieving her tiered feet.

She passed through the doors under which I sat gazing at the party.

"Oh how I long for the adventure over there," whispered the princess pointing at the Earth?! She sighed as I compensated what was going on. Then a dark haired man stepped on to the balcony. His ebony hair blew in the breeze, as did his cape. His face was covered by a lone mask, but his other features showed how handsome he really was.

"Ah the Earth isn't it beautiful," He said, "Filled with things no other planet can offer."

"When can I come again?"

"Not until the war is over I am afraid. It is safer here."

The princess sighed again and silence cut off the conversation. I waited and watched something wasn't right.

The man broke the silence, "I you are not to tired your majesty may I have a dance?" The princess laughed and then said of course my shining knight. The man bowed and offered his arm and together they strolled into the ballroom once again. The two dance for hours.

Soon I heard a song burst from know were! The Queen looked straight at me, as did every one else. But I couldn't find the source of the sound until I realized it was I who was singing. My body flew down to the floor. My arms seized two daggers located at my sides. I didn't know what was happening I had no control over myself.

The crowd parted as I made my way to the princess and masked man.

"It's Endymion! "I screamed, " He's infiltrated the castle. Queen Serenity shouted for the guards but the prince had already made a run for it over the balcony. While I struggled with the princess to let me pass.

A rumbling started to shake the castle as the queen, princess, and I raced out to see what was happening. A dark shadow had formed over the land and a red headed woman stood in the mist of it all.

"Serenity so nice to see you " said the woman, "It's been awhile." She laughed menacingly.

The other eight girls produced themselves in front of the Queen and Princess. So I took off to take part in the battle that had already begun. My body moved with out me and I could not stop it. Swords clanged all around me and soon I found myself in a vast wooded area.

As I stepped out of the woods and heard the red woman cry, "If you will not love me tan you will love no other I" And with that a bolt of black energy struck Prince Endymion (who was protecting the princess) and killed him.

"Endymion NO!" cried Princess Serenity, "Beryl how could you!" And with that Princess Serenity picked up Endymion's sword and killed herself. My body froze as I stood there and let her fall.

Rushing pain fell through my gut as blood spilled over my hands. I fell to my knees and looked back. A tall man stood over me bloody sword in hand smiling as his white hair brushed over his face. My left hand grasped a ring on my right and dropped it in front of myself. With that I fell. Slowly dying in my one blood. An orange cat came out of the brush and picked up my ring and with sad eyes watch me die.

My head jerked up as I glanced at my surroundings. I was back in the tree. I looked at the sky darkness had set in. I panicked and with out even looking at my watch grabbed my stuff. I opened the hole in the floor again and lowered my self to a near by branch proceeding to climb down the tree.

Once on Mother Earth again I started toward the thicket. Until a rustling noise was heard. I stopped and listened but could not trace the noise. Shrugging an eerie feeling a way I proceeded again. But then the rustling became louder and out of the shadows came a great man that approached me grabbing my arm and pulling, pulling, pulling me away.
