Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Phoenix ❯ Sunfire's Keeper ( Chapter 5 )
Disclaimer: I do not own it, don't want to.
I know it took me a long time to get this chapter online, but I have a few other stories to work on. This is last on my list at the moment, until I get some reviews that don't involve begging for more chapters. Tell me what you think, what you want, things I need to make the story better. Anyway I'm putting in someone I found online, Sailor Berserker; I know that it's actually Sailor Pluto, but it's an A/U fic, so it's not her. Here's the chapter.

Chapter 5: Sunfire's Keeper
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
18 hours after last chapter ended.
Phoenix sat on the beach, listening to the waves lazily lap at the shore. He wasn't sure exactly what his mother had actually meant, but he figured he wouldn't be alive to see his sister grow up. He was alone, everyone was inside the cabin, and loud banging sounds could be heard from upstairs.
"Will they ever get over themselves?" he asked the silence around him.
"Probably, but not today," said a voice from behind him.
He turned around to face someone in white armor, like a knight's armor (like the inferno armor from Ronin Warriors; except no black tiger and swords of ferver). The long handle of a broad sword was at the knight's hip. The helmet, though, completely covered the person's face, but he was sure it was a woman's voice. The knight reached up and slowly removed its helmet; a long mane of red hair fell in the process, reaching to the sand. He was right, it was a woman. Her red eyes shown as bright as her hair. Her eyes were large, giving her an almost girlish innocence.
"It is good to see you my prince," she said bowing. "Your mother sent me to help you."
"I don't remember you," he said pulling a red shirt over his head.
"I am Sailor Berserker," she said, "I was her majesty's bodyguard."
"My mother ask you to come here?" he asked sitting back down.
Berserker moved forward and sat beside him, removing her shoulder plates and gauntlets.
"Yes," she said removing the breastplate of her armor, revealing a white shirt. Once she removed a piece of armor it disappeared. "Please call me Mila."
"Now I remember you, you were always there."
"I was exiled for trying to defend your actions. Queen Serenity was devastated when you were banished that nothing stood in Carpa's way."
Phoenix, after hearing the name Carpa, slammed a fist down into the ground; causing a slight tremor the rock the island. Carpa is the name of the judge who sentenced him to exile, and had fun doing it.
"Phoenix what's going on? What was that shaking?" Ami asked as she came out of the small cottage. She stopped and looked at Mila, and stared at her for a moment before remembering. "Hello."
"Hello Princess," Mila said nodding.
"Phoenix, there isn't much time left till your time stop wares off," she said sitting down on his other side.
"I know," he said placing his arm around her. "It makes me wonder what to do afterward."
He threw his head back and looked up at the clouds, that had not moved since he got here. It didn't seem strange to him, having not seen a single cloud for 1000 years. What did seem strange to him was that so much seemed to be gathered around the Earth. Surely there were planets with greater treasures of power than this little place out in the boondocks of the universe. The Imperium Silver Crystal was gone, broken into five pieces. Each inner scout had a piece. In doing this it had increased each of their power 25 times. The bearer of the largest piece of the crystal was Serena, increasing her power by 50 times.
"Prince, what shall we do when she comes?" Mila asked.
"You don't have to call me that, I stopped being him when I cursed the day I was born," Phoenix said staring at the sun. "Other than that, I'm not sure. We must first find out what she came here for."
"I'm guessing `she' came here for you Phoenix," Ami said still not fully believing that the entity was female. "If `she' could possess your power, then it is likely `she' would become invincible."
"Then she'll have to pry it from my cold, dead body," he said looking from the sun to his secret weapons, the boots he wore.
"That just might be the case, Phoenix," Mila laid back down onto the sand, her arms behind her head, and one leg bent. "And don't even think of taking those boots off."
"I'd never dream of doing that," he said giving her a wry smile. She smiled back and kneed him lightly in the ribs.
New sounds had joined the ones already coming from the house, now there were more female screams.
"Well, I guess Haruka just couldn't contain herself," Ami said pulling Phoenix to the sand with her.
"Oh yeah, you told me about that," he said, his eyes flitted from the house, to Ami, then to Mila. He felt perfectly at peace.
"What happens when you remove those boots?" she asked, her large eyes boring through his.
"You don't want to know."
"But…"
"No."
"Fine, I'm sure I'll find out one way or another."
"I've been thinking about what you said, about changing destiny. Most people may be able to do so, but I can't, and you'll have to accept it," he said knowing she would try to get him to reconsider.
"I'm sure whatever is coming won't be strong enough to kill you."
"But she is Princess, she is strong enough to kill him, me, and Saturn combined."
"When she does I want all of you out of there, the explosion of power will probably decimate everything within a three hetra radius," he looked at the sky, the motionless clouds, the golden sun, the semi-transparent moon.
A hetra is an ancient means of measurement, which I myself made. It simply means about 500 feet. Ami somehow knew what a hetra was, as more memories came to her. That was unimportant to her, what has important to her was why he had to die.
"She has no minions, like the others, nothing so strong would need them. She will immediately dispense with the weakest of her opponents, then move on to others," Mila said.
"You sound like you've seen this happen before."
"During my banishment, I saw her, saw her evil, her malice, her undeniable, and unstoppable power. By showing her you are a worthy enemy Phoenix, she held back from attacking. But now that you're here, she will take her time getting here," Mila closed her eyes, remembering the complete and utter destruction that befell her temporary home.
"We should go inside, are you hungry Mila?" Ami said quickly changing the subject to something a little less intimidating.
"Yes, thank you," Mila said also standing. Together the two women heaved Phoenix to his feet.
They made their way slowly to the cabin, and once inside the noises from above were magnified. They all sat at the table, and Ami went to the fridge to get some food. She returned with a few sandwiches and three glasses of water. Phoenix didn't eat, but Mila ate like she had never seen food before.
"Are they ever going to STOP!" Phoenix yelled at the ceiling, and with a loud crash, the noise stop. "THANK YOU!"
"Was that the princess?" Mila asked.
"Yes," he answered hanging his head in shame.
"I've never heard anyone make a sound like that," she said.
"Get used to it," Ami said with a small laugh.
"When they actually have something to occupy their time with, their okay," Phoenix said, taking a sip of his water. "But when they get bored, you might want to just ignore them."

Finally done, chapter five. I hope you like it, the next episode covers the week between the end of the time stop and the landing of the enemy. I'm sorry for this chapter being so short, and that it took so long. The next one shouldn't take too long to write, I'm going to take a break from my main story to write it. Also, a few more reviews would be great.
