Sailor Moon: Calendar Girls
Chapter 1
My name is Usagi Tsukino. I am 18 years old, and my friends and I have just started attending college at Mugen Gakuen. It's been two years since my friends and I have had to use our powers to fight evil. Oh, let me explain! When I was 14 years old, I met a cat named Luna who became my Guardian. She gave me a locket which allowed me to transform into the Sailor Warrior of Love and Justice, Sailor Moon. Over the years, we discovered several enemies, and discovered several things about ourselves. For example, it's hard to believe that I was a princess of an ancient civilization on the Moon before it was destroyed by an evil woman from Earth by the name of Beryl. The other Sailor Soldiers? Well, back then they were considered as my Guardians. When the Moon was destroyed, my mother, Queen Serenity, sent me, the other Sailor Senshi, Artemis (Minako's cat guardian), and Luna, 1000 years into the future to the present day Tokyo that we live in today. After defeating Beryl, I ran into some trouble with enemies from the future, who were bent on destroying our Tokyo to rule the future Earth. Then we fought against heart-stealers called Daimon who were bent on turning the world into darkness, possibly even destroying it! Next, we went against the Dead Moon Circus, whose leader, Neherenia, was determined to break a curse laid on her to rule the Universe. Finally, we fought against a slew of evil Sailor Senshi whose main goal was to destroy everything, period. Their boss went by the name of Chaos, who rules over all evil in the universe. Finally, after defeating Chaos, we're able to enjoy true peace. It's hard to think that I was only in high school, then. But finally, all of us can live a normal life.
"Usagi! Come on! Rei said we had to help her at the temple today!"
Oh! That's right! Well, I've got to go, but I hope to see you soon!
Usagi turned and ran over to Minako Aino, arguably the most beautiful girl in Mugen Gakuen. Minako's hair seemed longer than ever since she was younger, still adorned by a beautiful red bow. It seemed that everything about Minako was beautiful.
"So, how is class going for you, Minako-chan?" Usagi asked as they strolled down the street.
"You mean my voice classes? Well, they're going okay. The instructor said that I'm able to sing in a higher range now!" She cleared her voice and demonstrated.
Usagi giggled. "Wow, Minako-chan, you ARE getting good!"
Minako smiled. "Thanks. What about you, Usagi? You want to become Mamoru's bride, right? Aren't you being trained in Home Economics for that?"
Usagi grimaced. "Yeah, and we're starting to learn sewing. Sewing! I remember the time I tried to sew for that wedding dress contest. That was a disaster!"
"So how are you doing in there?"
Usagi grimaced more. "Well, if I could figure out how to get the thread through the sewing machine, I'm sure I could do just fine from there."
Minako gave Usagi a look. "You mean… you're having trouble with the sewing machine?"
Usagi nodded, and looked up at the familiar "Hikawa Shrine" gate as the two girls continues down the path.
Elsewhere…
Inside a black star…
A young woman stood over the reflective waters of her pool, her eyes gazing into the waters with fury.
"Those Sailor Senshi think they destroyed Chaos, when in all actuality, a small portion of Chaos lies dormant at my feet, never to awaken. I am the last hope for Chaos to awaken, and to do that I MUST destroy those Sailor Senshi. How to do this?" She turned toward the doors of her chamber. "Lazulis! Desdamona! Phira! Arcadia! Come forth!"
The four young maidens came forth. "Yes, madam?" Lazulis replied.
"I want you all to head for Earth, find the Sailor Senshi, every last one, good AND evil, and destroy them all."
Desdemona spoke up. "Excuse me for asking, but why the evil ones?"
The woman turned. "If they have even the slightest chance of teaming up with Sailor Moon, then they need to be destroyed. Seeing as they're Sailor Senshi one way or another, they have the chance of joining her. We can't let that happen if we want Chaos to reawaken!"
"And after we destroy the Sailor-suited senshi?" Phira asked.
"Not after. During… WHILE you are going against the Sailor Senshi, you are likely to suffer casualties. Therefore, you are to find some way to turn the hearts of human minds. Be they pure or impure, bend their mind to your will. Do ANYTHING you must to get rid of those annoying brats. Do you understand?"
"And when we destroy them, Master Chaos will awaken again?" Arcadia asked.
"That is the plan, with a little work. Then we can go forth once again and destroy the entire Universe."
"Yes, Mistress Sin."
* * *
"Wow, Usagi-chan. I can't believe that you were on time for once."
Usagi glared at Rei. "See if I ever help you again."
Makoto laughed a little. "It's funny, though… it seems you've gotten better at that since beating Chaos, right Usagi?"
Usagi nodded. "Yeah, I know. Maybe some grace and time management is finally on my side since we won that last battle. So how are everyone's college classes going? I know we don't really see each other during school hours anymore."
Ami nodded. "My medical studies are going pretty good, I was able to take the Germany classes over the Internet, and my mother says she's proud of me."
Rei spoke up. "My Music Studies are getting harder. I didn't think there was so much to it, really. It's also hard to believe that you and I are engaged, too, Usagi. I mean, I knew that Chad and I were the perfect couple, but you and Darien? I'm amazed your klutziness still hasn't scared him off."
Usagi glared again. "Watch it, Rei!"
"My culinary classes are going great! I made another triple-decker upside down fudge bundt cake. The Chef was impressed!"
The other girls stared.
Rei sighed. "I can't believe it. We've all found the path to our dreams. It'd be so much harder if none of us ever met, though."
Minako looked over to Usagi. "And how's your English going?"
Usagi grinned the best she could. "Better."
Rei snuck a look at Usagi. "Conjugate the following sentence; The cow jumped over the moon. In precise detail, please."
Usagi shot over to Rei. "Cow, noun. Jumped, verb. Over the moon, prepositional phrase."
Rei smirked. "What about 'the'"?
Usagi blinked and hung her head.
Minako grinned. "It's okay, you'll get it. At least you're doing better."
"Yeah, Haruna-sensei would have a conniption if she knew how much you've improved." Makoto retorted.
Minako groaned and held her head.
"You okay, Minako-chan?" Ami queried.
Minako nodded. "Yeah, I'm okay, I've just got a little headache. It's nothing. I'm going to the doctor's anyway because I've had small headaches every day for about a week now, so I'm having it checked out."
"You'll let us know if something's wrong, right, Minako?" Usagi asked.
"Of course. I've got to go. It's almost Artemis' feeding time, and I haven't gone home yet." She stood up and turned to leave when something caught her attention.
"What's wrong?"
Minako shook her head. "I thought I saw something, but I guess I was mistaken. I'll see you guys later!"
