Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Sailor Moon E(ternals) ❯ Prologue ( Prologue )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/N: This is the first time I've tried to post a Sailor Moon Fanfic. Just a few notes. 1) I've tried to put the Japanese terms in italics throughout the story. 2) There are some girl-girl relationships, notably Haruka/Michiru, Setsuna and a character I made up, and Hotaru and a character I made up. 3) If you are confused over the meaning of words (though I tried to keep it to simple words common in fanfics), or over an aspect of my story, feel free to ask about it in your review. 4) Thoughts are written in italics as well. And finally, the disclaimer…
Disclaimer: I do not own the Sailor Moon characters. Naoko Takeuchi has that illustrious honor. I do however own the villains, the golden senshi, and the story line I am writing about.
On to the story

Prologue

In a beautiful city approximately one thousand years in the future, a young queen sat on her throne bored out of her mind. She had once tried balancing a pen on her upper lip, only to have it fall off and hit her dress, making a rather large stain. Since then she was told she could not have anything in the throne room with her. This was the worst part of being queen, she thought to herself, wishing she were anywhere by there. If I could only go out for a walk, or visit my old friends…

Suddenly, Neo-Queen Serenity, for that is who it was, felt a cold breeze on the back of her dress. She stood up and turned towards the source of the coldness and saw one of her friends standing there with her staff at an angle. “Sailor Pluto?”

“Your highness, there is a problem…”

Go back now, more than a thousand years from the beautiful Crystal Tokyo, then travel out from Earth towards the sun. Eventually, once you pass the planets of Venus and Mercury, you will reach a small planet that is not noticed because it only moves slightly slower than Mercury. Of course, the two will eventually not be in a straight line, but at this moment in time, the small planet is hid from Earth's view behind Mercury.

The ancients, who named the planets, got the names from mythology that is now lost. This mythology, if we still knew it, would call this small planet Minerva. All of Minerva's water is under the surface, so during the time of the Silver Millennium, which is where this mythology stems from, the Minervians, as they were called, lived under the surface. The Dark Kingdom didn't think that the Minervians were worthy opponents, so they left the conquering of that planet last after they had conquered all other planets but the Moon. When Metallia finally got to Minerva, she decided to use the planet's inhabitants instead of killing them. She infused the planet with dark energy and she left.

The people of Minerva stopped aging. They became immortals that everyone forgot about. Years passed and the senshi of Minerva wondered why no one came to see them. She wanted to finally use her powers for evil…use the full extent of her powers on anyone daring to come near. Years passed and no one came. Finally, she decided to visit them, instead.

She found, much to her surprise, that the only planet left alive in the entire solar system was the blue planet that kept the moon in its pull. Earth, I think is what it's called. Tcha…not really a planet at all. Cool and blue… Sailor Minerva sniffed disdainfully and headed back to Minerva.

“Ei-san, tell Calcite-sensei that I'm ready to report.”

Hai, Minerva-sama.”

Minerva concentrated faintly and pulled up some metal from the surface she was walking on and sat down on the makeshift chair she crafted from her powers. After a few seconds she crossed her legs and her top leg started bouncing, showing how ill-suited she was to waiting. “Where is that girl?”

“She was getting me, like you asked of her, Sailor Minerva.”

Hai, Calcite-sensei,” Minerva all but purred. “I have some good and bad news, sir.”

“Well? What is it? I don't have all day, child.”

“The solar system is mostly destroyed. All that is left is Earth, the `third' planet.”

“Is that the blue one?”

Hai, sensei.”

“Well, we don't need that one.” Calcite started walking away then stopped. “Just in case, Minerva-chan,” he said, managing to sound flirtatious while still looking cold. “Why don't you go down there and check it out. It might be worth our time.”

Minerva readily agreed, but inwardly sighed. Since this was a specific request from Calcite, she couldn't simply send one of her servants. She would actually have to travel there. After Calcite left, she said, “Umeka! Ei! Beniha! Miyuumi! I need all four of you to come with me.”

“Where are we going, Minerva-sama?”

“To Earth, girls. To Earth.”
