Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ Sailor Moon: The Guardian Saga ❯ The Scion of the moon ( Chapter 2 )
Last time on Sailor Moon: The Guardian Saga: Hotaru Tomoe, otherwise known as Super Sailor Saturn learned the history and true identity of her partner Guardian Saturn. When Luna prepared a slide show that told the history of the Order of the Guardian Knights, The scouts learned another surprising fact, that Guardian Moon was, in the past, the wife of Queen Serenity and the mother of the scout's own princess, Princess Serenity.
....Luna blushed and was hesitant to answer, as though she didn't like how she expected Moon to react. "That man was Guardian Moon of the Order of the Guardian Knights…" She made one final breath as if bracing herself for what was going to come and then spoke. "He was also the husband of Queen Serenity of the GinSennenkan…and the father of Princess Serenity.
The girls were shocked and Sailor Moon Fainted. Hotaru relaxed in Guardian Saturn's arms, nowhere near as surprised as the other girls, having guessed that fact from her memories. Guardian Saturn was not surprised at all, as he had been present at the birth, and had in fact held the little girl in his arms before leaving to take care of an Attack plan they had to make.
"The man you see before you," An arrow appeared on the screen, pointing at Guardian Saturn, "Is the Leader of the Guardian Knights and was the prince of both Pluto and Saturn." Most of the girls, excluding Saturn raised their hands, all with the same question, so Luna called on Mercury. "Yes Mercury-chan?"
"Why wasn't Guardian Moon the leader of the Order Of Guardian Knights, instead of Guardian Saturn here?" At this Guardian Saturn growled like a lion and Sailor Saturn, who was lounging in Guardian Saturn's lap, gently elbowed him in the chest. He grunted and went back to braiding her hair.
That was the question Luna knew was going to be asked and she had an answer ready.
"Alternate versions of reality can have more than one thing different. In this case, the warriors that defended their alliance with their crystal are male AND the planet in charge of the "Good Guys" was Saturn as opposed to the Female warriors and Moon leadership we have here."
The Scouts nodded and Mercury hit herself on the head. When everyone looked at her as if to say "something wrong?". She blushed and responded, "I should have thought of that myself."
Guardian Saturn concentrated and then stood up, gently displacing his female counterpart. "I have some business to take care of elsewhere. Saturn, if you ever need me, I will be at the Casting ground." With that he vanished, leaving the smell of aged paper and dust in his passing.
The girls ended the meeting then, leaving Saturn wondering what he had meant with that final remark. Makoto and Hotaru walked home together, as the older girl had taken charge of taking care of Hotaru after she had returned, fully grown. They had gotten a computer to make Both Makoto's college homework and Hotaru's High school homework easier. They also had DSL and cable. As they walked, they talked about life, boys, homework and other things relevant to the life of a teenage girl. When she got home, she logged onto her IMs and signed on to Google and typed in "Casting Grounds". She found that a Casting Ground was a special arena where a new trading card game, Card Casters, was played. She also learned that there was one quite near to her home and blushed when she found it was called The Princess Rhea Casting Ground. She grabbed her coat and headed for the door, yelling out to Makoto that she was going to meet a friend.
When she arrived at the Casting Grounds, she was surprised to see a battle going on at the moment. She climbed into the stands where she could see better. Most of the arena was taken up by a large holoprojector, divided into a grid. On the grid were a number of monsters and a few buildings. Two monsters were engaged in a battle. One was a dragon that looked remarkably like the dragon Guardian Saturn had with him earlier, except this one was dressed in metallic body armor, not unlike the armor that Jin wore in his Guardian form, except the armor the dragon was wearing was sized to fit it. Its opponent was a creature with a lion's body, Large demonic wings growing from its back, and a face that wore a look of true malice and hate, with a large mouth, filled with dripping fangs, its head topped with two large goat horns that spiraled a few times. It was pure black, as if it were made from solid shadow
"Guardian Spirit of Saturn, Use your Time Force Lance attack!" The dragon pulled his hands back and charged a violet orb of energy, finally releasing it when it was the proportionate size of a basket ball, then pushing his hands forward, shooting a long, lance like beam of amethyst light at the foe.
"Night Shadow Sphinx, Counter with Shadow Orb Shield, then retaliate with Strike Shadow Claw!" The beam of light fired by the dragon struck the shield made by the Sphinx and dispersed. Then the lioniod charged at the Dragon, its right paw's claws glowing a deep black.
"Guardian Spirit of Saturn, Defend with Dome of The Chronostone!" The Dragon drew a circle in the ground around it and a dome of glowing green light surrounded the lizardiod. The Sphinx charged forward and leaped into the air, dragging his darkly glowing claw across the shield.
A bell sounded, and it must have meant something to the two players as they added two cards each to their hands.
Jin played one of his cards face up and a building popped up on his side of the board. It looked like a temple, carved from a yellow stone. It glowed bright gold and the Guardian Spirit of Saturn glowed with the same light. He also played a another card and a scythe appeared in Guardian Spirit of Saturn's hand. It appeared to be made of purple crystal, with flashes of various colored lights running through its length and blade. The Dragon slashed. Jin hit a button on a panel near his seat and a bell went off.
She also felt herself being compelled to walk towards her boyfriend. She gave into the feeling and walked proudly towards the strong, handsome life mate and sat down on the bench next to him, relaxing in the warm arms that immeaditly sensed her presence and pulled her into their strong embrace.
The foe was also making changes to their side of the board. A building that looked to be carved from black crystal sprang up on the other side of the playing field. The opponent then it a similar button and a loud roar echoed through the park.
Jin played another card down and a new creature appeared next to the armored dragon. It was a Sphinx, dressed in armor similar to the dragon except instead of being made from purple metal it was made from what looked like sand. The sphinx had an hourglass filled with clear sand on a chain made from a silver metal around its neck and it growled at the other sphinx. Once he did this and hit a button. Then he pressed his lips to those of the woman he loved with all his heart.
As Card Casting matches go it was uneventful, ending with Jin's victory.
As Jin left he picked Hotaru up in his arms and walked into a hidden alley and snapped his fingers. He looked down at her and smiled. "Are you sure you it is okay with you to go this way? It is unpleasantly like being drunk."
It was another of his many cultural references, one that she knew the response to with out thinking. "What is so unpleasant about being drunk?" She smiled and snuggled deeper into his arms and nuzzled his strong chest.
He smiled at her and nuzzled her head gently. "Ask a glass of water." He drew some High Moonian in the air with his finger and a portal opened. It was your typical portal, with a black background, laced with an occasional flash of colored lightning. For a few moments she felt like she was in an incredibly cold place, her only source of warmth her love's body. It was also pitch black. And then came the feeling that Jin had been talking about when he said that traveling this way was like being drunk like a glass of water. All of a sudden there was a extremely bright flash of like she was lying on her boyfriend's chest on a soft bed. She looked around and saw that she was in a room tiled in black marble with Obsidian Gargoyles and dragons.
She rolled off of him and looked around. "Where are we?" She had a strong sensation that she had been here before, A long, long time ago.
"We are in the master bedroom of Castle Sunadokei on Saturn. In the past, this was the home of the royal family of Saturn. These days it serves as my house and Guardian Saturn's Base of operations, as well as my holding place for all I have acquired over the course of my travels. You may stay here with me if you wish or you can continue to live with Makato, it is up to you."
She smiled at him and snuggled deeper into his arms. "I would stay but how would I get to school? Besides, without you, how would I get here when it was time to come home? Besides I couldn't bring my friends over to play."
He smiled at her and hit a button on a panel near his bed and a wall slid open to reveal a swirling portal leading to who knows where. "This is a subspace tunnel I made so I could get to Earth quickly and without using much energy. I have exit tunnels located all over the world. Some are disguised as houses, Others are tied to tokens or statues. In fact I have one right near your school. You know that old house, decorated with dragons and other creatures of myth that you see every day?" She nodded and he continued. "That property belongs to me. When you walk through the door, you appear back here. You can use that to get back from school and I will give you a map of the locations of the exit holes if you need to get back without me. As for your friends, If you enter from say, the portal inside the house near your school, the windows will seem to you like what the windows in that building see. So it will look like you are in that building. You should be getting home soon. You have school tomorrow. Before you go, would you like to see my trophy room? It is the room where I keep all of the artifacts I have collected in my travels."
She snuggled into his arms, disliking the idea of having to leave his arms. But the thought of seeing all the interesting objects that she just knew he possessed was too much to turn down. "Of course I want to see it. You must have some amazing things there."
He picked her up in his arms and hit a button on the panel. The image in the portal changed to that of a room filled with shelf after shelf of objects that were made hazy by the portal. He picked her up and brought her into the swirling vortex. She closed here eyes and when she opened them, she was in a room like the one pictured through the portal. The shelves that had been previously obscured were revealed to be covered with Anime Paraphernalia. It was the most realistic she had ever seen. Among the objects there were an exact replica of Kaneda's bike from Akira, not just one, but two Mao Mo Lin bells from Ranma ½, many pokéballs and a number of badge cases filled with badges, a number of Pokemon League trophies, three PokéDexes, one from the Johto League and one from the Kanto, A guardian from the Tenchi Series, A sword in the style of TenchiKen that appeared to be made from black crystal, with a Pummel shaped like a rose blossom and a hilt like a standard Japanese Sword , and many other objects, all the most realistic she had ever seen. She was about to jokingly ask if his journeys had been through an Anime Convention, when she saw something that knocked her socks off. He had taken one of his many pokéballs and tossed it at a wall. She covered her ears and readied herself for a crash, wondering what on earth he was doing when she heard a strange cooing sound. When she looked up, she saw a tall orange dragon, as tall as, if not taller than, him. He stroked its chin and fed it brown spheres that looked like large cat treats. When he pressed a button all of the pokéballs disappeared down a tube beneath the display. He hit a button and an elevator popped up. It opened with a whoosh and revealed a room with two chairs and another pokémon that looked very much like an elephant, this one dressed in a tuxedo, pushed the huge buttons with his forefeet. [If you don't get it, don't worry, there is indeed a joke hidden there, but it is rather trivial. If you do get it, I am amazed. Also if you didn't get it, I will now give you a small hint, though it most likely won't help] Hotaru sniggered slightly as she had been a fan, and was still, of American Children's programing. When they reached the where they were going, the elevator pulled to a stop and the elephant pulled a leaver that opened the door. Jin tipped his nonexisitant hat at the elephant pokémon and left the elevator, leaving, wondering what just happened. As she left the door, she found herself on a large field divided into various regions. There was a region that was like a volcano, one that was like an ocean, a third that was like a mountain and a whole numbers of others. In all of them Pokémon were frolicking, kept under the watchful eyes of other pokémon. The Volcano area was watched over by a large rainbow colored bird with a crest of yellow feathers on its head. The guardian of the Water area was a large blue pokémon that had two large flippers with white protrubrences on the ends. The mountain Area was watched over by a pokemon that looked like an anthropomorphic pile of rocks. When he walked in, these and other pokemon turned to nod at him as he entered.
He approached what looked like a rather large cat. It was mostly white, with a purple tail that looked like it was an outlet in a plug because some of the purpleness could be seen covering the crotch. The feline had three ball like fingers. It had two toes on each foot and had two large knobs on its ankles. It was dressed in body armor that covered its head, torso and arms, It was made from a silver material, and there was an opaque black stripe before the creature's eyes, or rather where she assumed its eyes were
She expected them to talk to each other, but it just stood (Or hovered) there. She got a sense that they were both Telepaths and were conversing telepathically. When she got the hint that they were finished, She heard Jin's voice. But it echoed more than usual and it seemed only she heard it. His voice said ~~Come~~ and that was all. She started walking over to the group of one feline and a man.
When she got within a few yards from them, she finished the rest of the distance at a run as she suddenly felt a serious need to be held in Jin's warm arms. He seemed to know exactly what she needed as he was ready with his arms open when she got there and he wrapped his arms around her waist, her arms going around his shoulders.
She heard another voice in her head, this one deeper and echoed a lot less than the one that she knew to be Jin's. She figured that it was the voice of the feline creature before her. ~~Greetings, M'lady. I have waited a long time for your return.~~
~~In case you didn't know, all of the legendary pokemon that live on Pokéworld are the re-incarnated souls of great heroes from other universes. Mewtwo here is the soul of the man who died protecting you from agents of the Negaverse.~~
She didn't know what to say. ~~Oh.~~ When she thought that, every single pokémon in a thirty yard area turned and looked around as they heard an unfamiliar voice, one that echoed terribly.
Mewtwo smirked and Jin smiled at her ~~You obviously need to work on your focus, M'lady.~~ The voice of the strange Feline emoted through her mind.
Jin smiled and held her close, stroking her hair gently and tenderly. ~~Also you have to work on your control. Did you hear how my Psionic voice echoed slightly and Mewtwo's didn't at all? That is because he has perfect control over his mental voice, while I have some, but not as much as he does, and you have even less than I do.~~
Deep inside her mind, she heard a voice deep in her mind. ~~Lord Cronus, the Negaverse Empire is at at again.~~
Jin nodded and scooped Hotaru into his arms and Highjumped to a cliff, where he jumped down. When they landed, she could see what looked like the door to a mausoleum, engraved with the pairs of the sigils of all nine planets, plus the moon. Each pair had one facing foreword, the other an exact mirror image. . He said some words in a language she didn't understand but she could guess from the door's sliding open, she guessed that it was either an incantation or a password.
He led her inside and what she saw amazed her. There were
A number of stone boxes. When she walked up to one, she saw that they were sarcophagi, set in pairs, one the one on the left with a foreword sigil, the and the one on the right with the mirror image. "W-what is this? Why are these here?" She was obviously shocked.
He smiled at her and bowed to the four corners of the room, then to the ceiling and the floor. When he finished, leaving her more confused then she was when she saw what this room held.
"This," He said, turning to smile at her. "is the final resting place of the Sailor Scouts and their Guardian Knight lovers."
She gasped and he took her by the hand and led her to a wall. The wall was decorated with a statue of image of a woman, clothed in armor with the sigil of Saturn engraved on her forehead. He pressed his hand to the symbol and kissed the stone woman on the lips and the wall swung backwards like a door,
The room that was revealed was well lit by a number of glowing characters, drawn on the walls, and most of the space was taken up by another Sarcophagus. Just by taking one look at the statue on the door, she could tell that it was her past form who lay in the stone box.
"Place your hand on the lid. Then all will be explained."
She wondered what on earth that could possibly do, but did it anyway. When she did, she felt an awesome burst of warmth, the kind that came from being held tight in Jin's arms.
He smiled at her and placed his hand on top of hers and the warmth doubled. When she got enough of her mind awake enough to look around, she saw that the world had been replaced with the world she went to when she transformed.
"Gods whose stories are old and rotten
Bring back the might that was once forgotten
Bring forth the power of love unbound
And let the song of the planets once more resound."
He began to chant and she felt a flow of power go through her. Her world was filled with swirls of light, streaks and flashes of light before going completely white.
After some amount of time had passed, though she didn't' know how long, she awoke. She was back in the bedroom of the castle. She smiled up at him and reached her arms out to him. "How long have I been out?"
He reached down to her and gently held her against his chest. He gently stroked her hair and smiled down at her. "Only a few hours, love. And now that you are rested, we will go join the princess and her allies in the battle against a Youma that they can't hope to defeat."
She got to her feet, for some reason feeling stronger than she ever had before. He led her to the portal and they stepped through. Then came the feeling of cold before the feeling of being drunk.
When they emerged, what she saw amazed her. She saw her fellow scouts battling against what looked like a monstrous biological mech, with many jewel like eyes. Its body appeared to be made of muscle, blood vessels, and bones, with a large beating heart. With each beat of the hideous sac of muscle, a large amount of some black liquid flowed through the clear "blood vessels". The creature's hands were encased in clear gauntlets, with the fingertips missing to let the creature's huge claws be free. The form of its body was like that of a cocoon with arms and legs The sailor scouts were firing their strongest attacks at it but it was merely shrugging them off.
"Saturn Aeon Ascension!" He transformed and his naginata appeared in his clawed hands. But his costume was slightly different. His claws were slightly longer and a pair of metallic dragon wings grew from the back, along with what looked like a long, thick tail.
He charged into battle, Naginata held high, leaving her in the dust. She held her hand high, expecting her normal weapon, the Silence Glaive, to appear. Instead something she had never seen before appeared in her hand. It was a long staff that would have had a rectangular head except for the jagged "C" shaped cut in the head. As soon as it fell into her hands, memories assaulted her. Memories of this weapon, lovingly crafted for her by her husband. She pushed a hidden button and a Scythe blade of light that glowed darkly, laced with purple streaks of lightning formed and she smiled.
As she charged into battle, she flew forward with a speed she would have not thought possible prior to Jin's arrival. She leaped into the air and made a number of quick slashes at the heart and at the limbs. The monster swatted at her like one swats at a fly. When she realized that her attacks were about as effective as if she were the aforementioned fly. She landed and looked to find her partner. It appeared he had gone back to the Castle and picked up his jet glider, as he was flying around, firing black beams of energy at the creature's heart, making it roar in pain. She wondered what he was doing when what looked like a high tech rifle appeared in her hands. She looked up and saw the smoke trail that meant that her partner had brought her this gift. She aimed at the creature's heart, having taken up range shooting as a past time and pulled the trigger. A lancing beam of black energy shot from the barrel and struck the creature's heart dead on. The creature roared in pain and she noticed that with each shot, less and less of the black goo flowed from the heart.
Just when the flow of black goop had almost stopped. The cocoon portion of the creature broke apart to reveal even bigger monster. It was like a giant butterfly, but it was twisted and perverted, with wings decorated with demonic, arcane symbols drawn on the wings.
Guardian Saturn sighed and pulled a crystal flute carved like a dragon and played a number of notes. The music echoed through the city, which had been abandoned when the large monster appeared. A loud rumbling could be heard in the distance and everybody except Guardian Saturn turned to look at place they percived the sound as coming from. As it turned out, everybody looked to a completely different direction. Guardian Saturn cleared his throat loud enough that every one could hear him and pointed in the direction that the sound was actually coming from. When everybody thought about it, they realized that if they had thought for a few more seconds, they would have found the same spot.
To be Continued....
Next time on the guardian Saga: What is making that rumbling. Why is this monster so much harder to beat than any other before? And Exactly who did it work for? What happened to Sailor Saturn? And what was this gun that Guardian Saturn gave his partner
