Sailor Universe: Chapter 16

“Serena, what is going on??! Your mother is going to be here any minute. She cannot see you like this!!”

“Which mother, huh Darien? I am so sick of living with two different sets of memories. I hate loving two different mothers. In a way, I love two sets of people. Those from the Moon Kingdom, and those here on Earth. Even all of you are different from the way you used to be, so I really love two sets of you. There are two different men I love, Endymion and Darien. Heck, I am even two different people! I cannot see the point of living like this!!”

“Because at least you are living! Your mother from the Moon Kingdom gave you that chance. Do not waste it!”

“MOM?! HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT??! I could have changed the past! I have gone back so many times to see her, and she knew! I told her what would happen, but I said that no matter what, she could not change it! I could have saved us all from living like this!”

Tears begin to form in her mother's eyes as she looked at her daughter. Mrs. Tsukino looked like she was at a loss for words. Then her anger struck out with a vengeance.

“You would rather not know me?! You want to throw away everything you have here? You have so many friends and family here that you did not have in the Moon Kingdom!! If that is the way you want it, THEN FINE!! I WANT NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH YOU!!”

Serena watched in horror as her mother ran from the room. So many thoughts ran through her mind, and she could not believe what she had done.

“Oh Lord, can't I do anything right? She will never for-forgive me!!”

Serena choked on her words as she began to sob uncontrollability again. She fell to her knees and cried. Darien came and held her, while everyone else left the room.

“Shh, shh, it will be ok. Your mom loves you, and would never truly abandon you, no matter what. Oh, my love, we are more like our past selves than you realize. Just like in the Moon Kingdom, we give each other strength. Sweetie, I know you miss Queen Serenity and everyone of the Moon Kingdom, but you know that the consequences of changing the past would be devastating. We do not know what kind of future we would be creating. We all love you Serena, and we always will. You know, I used to feel like a part of me was missing. I never felt complete until I found you and the others. Slowly, that hole began to fill. Then, our memories were restored, and I never felt hollow again. Our past lives are a blessing, not a curse. We can learn from them, and create a better world for the people of this Earth. The type of world that could not exist then because of Beryl.”

“Darien, I just don't know if I can handle all of this. I am not the type of person to be a queen, and I am nothing like Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom. I am so weak, and I fear that I will lose all of you.”

“Weak?! Are you kidding me??! Who was it that defeated Beryl? And all of the Enemies since? You are Sailor Moon, the leader of the Sailor Scouts. Oh, Serena, you are the strongest person I know. It is because of you that we keep fighting, because you never give up. Please, do not quit on us now when we are so close to making Earth a peaceful place. I need you, and so does everyone else.”

“Thank you, Darien. I know now why I loved you so much in the Moon Kingdom, and why I love you so much now. I just hope that everyone can forgive me.”

Darien gently wiped the remaining tears from her eyes, and kissed her. Mina, who did not know about Serena's breakdown, walked in and immediately started to apologize.

“It's ok, Mina, but could you do me a favor?”

“Of course, what do you need Serena?”

“Will you get everyone to come back here? I need to tell them that I am sorry. And please, try to get my mother here too. I said some things that I shouldn't have.”

“I'll be back soon with everyone, even if I have to drag them.” Mina said with a wink and a smile as she walked out. Darien and Serena just stared after her, and then started kissing again. Do not worry, they made sure to stop their make-out session before they got back! ; )

**AT THE CORONATION**

(It is at night, during a full moon.)

“Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom, we, the people of Earth, wish to, uh, administer an oath of some sort. Just to ensure you will be a fair and just queen.”

“Of course, I expected nothing less. I know that you fear to be ruled by one royal family, instead of being many countries. What kind of oath did you want?”

“Princess Serenity, please place your hand upon this orb…”

“NOO!! DO NOT DO IT PRINCESS!”

“Sailor Universe?! What is going on?! You were supposed to be here an hour ago, and in your princess form!”

“It is a trap! That is not the person that Earth has picked to administer the oath. The orb will drain your life out of you!”

“It is not true! I am one of the ones who chose him!”

“Many Enemies have passed as perfectly normal-looking human beings before. I refuse to place my hand on that orb until we have proof for either side. Since you were among those to chose him, what is the oath he is supposed to give me?”

“Well…we had not planned upon the use of an orb. We were simply going to have you place your hand upon your Silver Imperium Crystal. I do not know why he has changed the oath, but I am sure he has good reason.”

“Princess…please do not, urgg, do it! He is a…”

“Silence you pitiful human! I should have killed you when I had the… opps. Well, I guess now you know!” As `he' said this, `he' transformed into one of Karimenta's minions, with the look of a female.

“Thank you, Sailor Universe for stopping me. And thank you, brave man, for proving just how strong and courageous ordinary people can be. You vile beast! I will not allow you to harm him or anyone else! Taste the wrath of the Moon Kingdom. MOON ULITMATE POWER!!”

“We will help Sailor Moon!!”

“No! This one is mine to punish. To harm someone who was just trying to protect Earth in some way was your biggest mistake! I believe that the true heroes of this world are the ones who live normal everyday lives, but still face danger to protect something they care about! We are merely their protectors! CRYSTAL HEARTS ATTACK!!”

Fueled by her anger at the deceit, the hearts smashed into the imposter and destroyed it. The crowd began to cheer. Then the oath giver stepped forward, still wanting to do his duty, though he was terribly weak.

“You may give me the oath, but then Princess Ami is going to tend to your wounds personally.”

“Thank you, Princess, though I would have done anything to protect you. I remember a time when the Negaverse attacked, and you saved me. Now, please place your right hand upon the Crystal on your staff, and repeat after me…”
