Chapter 1
It was going so well

Afternoon:
4 years have passed since those days. The youma attacks were over. The coming days of a prefect future was soon. Most if not all of the girls were now beginning to age slowly, but even now it would be still a few more years until they were to take their place as the rulers of the world. Galaxia was a memory they talked about once in a while.
For now life was good. These 4 years were as the way it should have been, and should be forever.

Some time ago Chibi-usa was sent back the future where she belonged. Friends and family alike threw a joy filled party that lasted nearly the whole night. Everyone also found out the little princess couldn’t hold her liquor. Like mother like daughter. A whole picture album was filled with pictures of the night, and of each other.

Even the land itself seemed to recognize the peace that had been settled. The trees had new, more live filled colors of green. The sky had a rich blue color with a crisp clean smell that woke up every part of your mind when inhaled.
These were the times most sought for and paid for at a high price. All for these days, and for these times.

A slow lazy breeze scattered petals and a few leaves across the grounds of the Hikawa Shrine as Rei swept
the natural debris into a neat pile.
Makoto was at the store with her biggest problem of the day. Should she get the dark green dress, or the Carmel brown dress?
Mamoru and Usagi were at the park near a pond having a privet picnic. Just the two of them.
Ami and Minako spent some time together reading books and a lot of talking. Many things were talked about with no particular subject.
Michiru and Haruka were in a good mood, because of the Macbeth Theater that would play tonight, and Michiru had bought the tickets.

In town, people were as happy as ever. Even the work place jobs people usually didn’t like seemed for different
reasons seemed pleasant. Even the bus drivers, who usually had to put up with crying children, were unfazed by the day. Even the bus driver on route 4 doing well.

Everything was going well.
[CRASH!!] The whole bus stopped with a violent force and was turned on its passenger side. The bus drivers, among others, were frightened and confused at the moment. Outside, they could all hear screaming and panic. He had a shallow cut near his eye. All the fussing inside from the passengers stopped when they heard a skin crawling sound of thin metal being ripped apart from the front of the bus. In half a second the whole front of the bus was ripped away, then everyone started screaming. Everyone was crawling over each other to get away from what they saw. Children and the elderly were being trampled on and stepped on, the screaming was so loud. One man was already crushed to death being packed so tight in the back.

At the Shrine, Rei was just beginning to do the floors when she felt something. Like a thousand little bugs crawling on her head.
“What is this I feel?” She said under her breath. A feeling, a different feeling. Then her heart grew heavy and sad.
“What has happened?” Just as she was about to pursue the feeling further, it stopped.
“Maybe it was just me.”

Downtown at the accident scene, it was a living nightmare. The bus alone was torn up like a soda can.
Parts of the bus could be found at either end of the street. Inside the bus was different; there was no screaming, moaning, or crying. Everyone inside was dead. Noxious suffocating fumes could be smelled everywhere. Policemen, firemen, paramedics, were all wearing oxygen masks. Nearby birds unluckily enough to flyover were dropping dead in midair, the trees were withering as the bark was already turning a bleached white. Nine business buildings were closed because of the fumes that seeped into the air vents. Over two-hundred people had to be rushed to the Hospitals from brief contact of the air.
Even through the madness, the agony and horror. The people and officials were unaware the assailant-the cause was in the middle of the crowed. Watching, and looking. Seeing how they reacted to this incident. The novelty of what occurred wore off and soon put both headphones on {Sun doesn't Rise-Mushroomhead .tm} and walked away. Thirty cops all around and they didn’t notice a thing. Everyone was too amazed by the bus accident to even notice.

Evening:
Ami happily finished dinner with her mother, and offered to do the dishes. She turned on the small TV by the sink to pass the time. The sound was turned down as to not distract her. It wasn’t until she saw the bus wreckage she turned it up.
”…crashed today. The bus had 17 passengers. Most puzzling was the fact it wasn’t the crash that killed the passengers but rather the large amount of corrosive acid found by investigators. Police have no comment as to how this was accomplished at the moment, but over twenty eyewitness accounts, tell of a large monster that seemed to come out of nowhere and attacked the bus.”

“That’s awful, all those poor people.” Ami said with both soap covered hands covering her mouth

“Two eyewitnesses earlier came forward and have submitted pictures of the attacker.” At that point all the sound turned off in her head, as she saw a picture on the TV of some kind of monster. Like a gorilla and a dog, it had a big hand on top of the bus. (Oh-no, not again, not this soon!)

Haruka was half-dressed when she heard the TV in the next room and saw the accident. A lot went through her mind at the moment. She knew she had to tell Michiru, but she really wanted to wait till after the show. Commonsense prevailed by a hairs-length. [riiiiing, riiing] She had an idea of why the phone rang.
“Hello?”

“Are you watching the news?” Came Makoto’s voice.

“Yeah, I just saw it.”

“What or who do you think it is?”

“No one I know.”

“Listen, I calling the other to meet. I know this is gonna involve us.”

“Yeah, I’ll do the same. Talk to ya later.” They both hung up. She turned around to see, at the bedroom doorway, her elegant mermaid, in a rich green and white Versace evening gown.

“Were not going to the show are we?” Haruka shook her head.

“No, not tonight. Not anymore.”

“I’ll go change again.” Haruka was undoing her long-sleeve shirt when she then followed her lover in the bedroom with a smile.

That-Night:
At the shrine, Setsuna had just arrived.
“Well we’ve all seen or heard about it so… who wants to guess who this is?” For whatever reason, everyone looked at Luna at the same time.

“Well I’m not aware of any dark forces that are still abound. As far as I know, and aside from the enemies yet to come, their shouldn’t be anyone else.”

“Could any of the pass evil forces come back?” Usagi asked.

“Well… it is possible, but even if any of them did, this doesn’t match any of their pass motives.” Rei answered.

“If that’s the case, then it must be someone new.” Michiru stated.

“Great, but we still don’t know why it happened, or even for what reason.” Usagi added.

“What about what could have been gained by this act of violence? Possibly something symbolic?” Mamoru added
“If everyone here also noticed, that thing went straight for the bus and just as quickly left after he was done.”

“What about afterwards? It wasn’t just the bus. I was shopping near-by when it happened.” Makoto joined.
“It started with the bus, but even afterwards the damage continued on. Almost every building at the end of the day on that street was evacuated. You should have seen all people being carried out. Even after it ended, people were still being hurt.”

“So it was just a random act? Whatever did it, did it to just to kill innocent people?” Haruka said.

“What kind of sick coward gets off this?” Makoto said getting angry.

“Well, we’re not going to find answers tonight. We should rest and meet tomorrow. We can discuss this with a clear mind.” Luna added to end the meeting.

“Makoto.” Haruka said from behind.

“Yes?”

“If you wouldn’t mind, would you come with us, to show us where it happened?”

“Yeah, I don’t mind.” Haruka, Michiru, and Makoto got in the Toyota convertible and drove off. Rei on the other hand, was more troubled. She had experienced a strange feeling, and it didn’t feel right. She had to consult the fire.
About 30 minutes passed until the three drove far enough into town, and then Haruka was assaulted by a strong sent, and she slammed on the breaks.
“[Cough-cough-cough] Oh man, what is that? [Cough-cough]” Michiru almost screamed at the smell lingering in the air. They quickly covered their mouths with their jackets sleeves. Their was only a little bit of sunlight left, enough to see the wreaked street. The bus was taken away hours ago, but the evidence of the accident was everywhere. Walls were slightly eroded, there wasn't a nearby tree left untouched by the monster. Most of the tires of the parked cars were burned open and flat
Haruka saw the large holes that scarred the street. One large hole was so large she could see the buildings foundation. (That has to be at least 50 feet down.)
Makoto rubbed her hand on the side of a small tree and the tree snapped softly and hit the ground, and on impact with the ground, turned into a cloud of ash.

Michiru was so busy looking around she didn’t see what was on the ground. Under her foot was something soft and round.
(What is this?) She bent down and saw a dead bird, and three more next to it, and ten more behind her. They were everywhere.
(Death was here, and he made his presence known to man.)

“So what else happened?” Haruka asked out loud to Makoto.

“Not much to add. As soon as it started, it ended. I got out just as the police arrived.”

“Jeez, whatever did this; he’ll pay for this action. These people will rest in peace, I swear it.”

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Some time had passed since everybody left. Rei sat in front of the fire and had prayed hard. She had to know what kind of monster she was about to go against, now she will know. Looking back, she had sensed many approaching forces and just as many spirits, but why today did she feel something and passed under the wire of a full presence? Especially considering how could so many people be killed and she barely notice that?
“I must know what force caused this violence, give me a vision so peace can be regained.
“Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, sai, zen! Show me this demon!” She looked closely in the fire. Nothing.
“Come on, concentrate. This day’s events should not cloud my thoughts. I have to see the danger, no matter how well he thinks he can hide. “Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, sai, zen! Reveal his identity to me!” Even after focusing her thoughts into the fire, nothing was shown. No faces, no locations, not even the smallest of clues were given by the fire.
“I guess I should get some rest. I must be tired if I can’t think straight.” The day was almost over and it had taken its toll on everyone. She had to rest, and a good soak would be first. She got up and turned for the reached for the door.
“Huh?” She tugged on the door but it didn’t open. She grasped the handle with both hands and pulled again.
“OH, COME ON!!” She pulled harder and harder. At this point she thought she was going to rip the door off the guide rails on the floor.
“Yuichiro, Grandfather!! Can either of you hear me? I’m locked inside and I can’t get out!!” She continued pulling on the door. She put her foot against the wall and really pulled hard on the door.
“Come on you dumb door, open up!” She grasped the door-handle tightly and pulled with full force. The door flew open and she fell almost face first on the floor.
“Ugh” She sat up placing a hand on the sore area of her head as she stood up.
“DUMB DOOR!!” She kicked the door at the frame. The she slid the door closed.
“What the...?” She opened and closed a few times and it didn’t stick at all. She walked inside and to her bedroom. Her bath became secondary, and it just didn’t matter anymore. She sat down at her vanity in her PJ’s and started brushing her hair. [Scratch-scratch] She turned to face her door. [Scratch-scratch]
(What is that?) [Scratch-scratch-scratch]
“Yuichiro?” [Scratch-scratch]
“Come on, knock it off!” [Scratch-scratch-scratch]
“STOP IT!” She opened the door, but no one was there. She looked one way, then the other way, nothing. She stepped back into her room and closed the door. [Scratch-scratch-scratch]
“I said stop it!” [POUND!!] Her whole door and wall shook, and she saw a thin crack along the frame of the wall.

“What’s going on?!” She heard her grandfather from the hall.

“Be careful, there’s an evil spirit here!” No sooner had she said that, he saw several scratches along the door and walls. [CRASH!] A large hole burst open, taking the front door with it, to the outside. All three look outward, amazed and scared. Mouths opened, and frozen. This force that had intruded in their dwelling, and physically damaged their home. This entity ignored the protective barriers surrounding the temple grounds, as well as doing so undetected by Rei’s psychic abilities.

“To Be Continued.”
_______________________________________________________________________ I’m interested in the feelings you (readers) have of both the accuracy of the Scouts, and the (as of yet seen) enemies.

I might as well get this out of the way. I have not seen season 5 of SM, and I'm going on what I've researched online. Their will be things I write that will blatantly not make sense (for now).
