SOMETHING ABOUT YOU
By Sailor DKC
Setting: during the time of the Silver Millennium
On Earth, Jedite, in his civilian clothes, ran across the town,
heading toward a schoolhouse. Immediately, he saw the creature,
trapping some youngsters in the corner of the schoolyard. He heard
rumors that the Moon people had been harassing the Earth people by
sending monsters to attack unexpectedly. 'Looks like the rumors are
true,' he thought, as he switched on his communicator. "Guys, I'm at
the schoolhouse down south of town. Get here, quick!"
Putting the communicator away, he twisted his jadeite ring once
around his right finger, then shot his hand straight up, fingers
spread.
"JADEITE STONE, TRANSFO-!"
Suddenly, Jedite was blasted from behind. Landing hard on the ground
face forward, he cried out in pain. Turning his head to look behind
he saw another creature behind him, preparing another strike. He
knew he could not move in time to save himself. 'I failed to save
the kids,' he thought, shutting his eyes to await the fatal blow.
"FIRE...SOUL!"
A charging fireball enveloped the creature attacking Jedite. As it
burned to a crisp, its screams alerted the first one with the trapped
children. Jedite opened his eyes, seeing the remains of the second
creature. In its place stood a woman with long raven hair in a red
sailor uniform. Dropping his jaw in awe, Jedite took in the beauty
of her deep, fiery violet eyes, her hair, her figure, and her pose.
She suddenly crouched and leaped out of the way as the first creature
attacked her. She charged another fireball, but missed the creature
which managed to knock her down a few feet from Jedite who is
struggling to get up and help.
The creature leaped and was about to land on the sailor girl, its
claws spread, when it was enveloped by three energy blasts. It
burned up, screaming as it disappeared. Jedite and the sailor girl
turned to see who saved them. Jedite was relieved to see the
Guardians of Earth- General Kunzite, General Nephrite, and General
Zoisite- lowering their raised hands.
"Are you all right?" called out Zoisite.
Jedite nodded and pointed to the children. "Check to see if they're
all right, too."
As the men headed toward the school children, Jedite felt a hand on
his shoulder. Turning, he was greeted by the lovely image of the
sailor girl, looking at him with concern. "You took that blast
pretty bad," she said. "Are you certain you're all right?"
"Yes." Mesmerized by her exotic beauty, he stared into her eyes. "I,
uh, uh, well, um, tha- thank you. You saved me and the children."
She gave him a sweet smile. "I'm glad everyone's fine."
Making a sound of utter disbelief, Jedite then blurted out, "Who are
you?"
She stared back into his eyes, very deeply. "Mars."
"Hey!" Kunzite yelled. Jedite turned to acknowledge the forthcoming
generals, but when he turned back to the sailor soldier in red, she
was gone. Bewildered, he looked all over the place. "Where'd she
go?" he wondered. "She disappeared without a trace!"
"Jedite!" Kunzite called out again as they approached him. "Was that
a Sailor Soldier you were talking to?"
"Sailor Soldier?"
"Yeah, these Sailor Soldiers serve Queen Serenity of the Moon
Kingdom," informed Zoisite. "Was that girl in league with those
creatures?"
"No!" Jedite defended, surprising himself and the generals by his
outburst. "I mean she saved me from one of them. So, she can't be
working with them. She just can't!"
Nephrite came forward and placed a hand on his friend's shoulder.
"Jedite, calm down! We're just being cautious because of the rumors
concerning the Moon people. If you say she saved you, then it's a
possibilty that these rumors are false."
"Even so," Kunzite replied. "we must be on our guard. Our duty is
to protect the prince and help him protect planet Earth. That Sailor
Soldier didn't see you transform into General Jadeite, did she?"
Jedite shook his head, then became aware of something else. "The
children!"
"They're fine," Zoisite assured him. "We'll take them to their homes.
Then we'll take you back to the castle to patch up those scratches
and tend those bruises."
"We have to report this to the Prince," Nephrite advised, as they all
started walking. "about the creatures and the Sailor Soldier."
As the Guardians started discussing about how to present the report,
Jedite lagged a foot behind them as he thought about the sailor girl
who rescued him. 'There's something about her. I wonder why she was
here on Earth in the first place.'
As he walked, his mind recalled her lovely and brave image.
'Sailor Mars.'
Using the Crescent Wand which she borrowed from Queen Serenity,
Sailor Mars ran through the streets of the town. The beeping on the
wand grew louder and louder. 'I'm getting close!' she thought. She
came upon a public park and ran toward the entrance. A couple was
exiting, and Mars focused on the blonde female. "Princess!" she
yelled out. Immediately, her male companion flapped his black cape
around to hide his face and fled into the streets. As Mars caught up
to the blonde, she saw only the back of his retreating head. His hair
was midnight black. Then he was gone. She took hold of the blonde's
arm. "Princess, you must come with me, now!"
Princess Serena of the Moon stared at her in shock. "Mars, how did
you find me?"
"With your mother's wand. We must return to the Moon Kingdom
immediately!"
WEEKS LATER...
In the Moon Palace, Raye was zipping up her red princess day. 'It's
not right,' she thought. 'Why should the Guardians of the Earth come
here to the Moon? We don't know who's attacking Earth with those
creatures. We've been attacked a few times, too!'
As she fixed her hair, she thought about the blond man whom she saved
as Sailor Mars on Earth. Smiling thoughtfully, she giggled to
herself. 'I hope he's all right now. And he is kind of cute,
despite his scratches and bruises. I wonder what he's doing now.'
Sighing, she got up and headed for the door. 'Might as well face the
music and meet with the Guardians of Earth.'
As she walked out, there was a loud commotion of shouts, then a
thunderous crash. Then Raye saw Luna and Artemis running down the
hall. "Hey, what's going on?" The cats stopped.
"A creature is attacking the castle entrance!" Luna exclaimed. "We
thought it came from Earth, but the Guardians are fighting it!"
"The Guardians of Earth are defending us?" Raye asked, incredulously.
"Yes! The creature surprised them as they approached the castle,"
Artemis informed. The cats took off again with the white cat yelling
back, "We're getting the sailor soldiers to come help them!"
"Go!" Raye shouted, pulling out her transformation wand. "I'm going
to give the Guardians a hand!" She ran toward the entrance, then
heard a deafening blast. The creature flew into the hall and headed
straight for her. Raye ducked, and the creature flew over her.
Quickly, Raye straightened up, faced the creature, and raised her
wand in the air.
"MARS POWER, MAKE-Uh-!"
The creature slammed into Raye so fast, knocking her flat on her
back. Her wand skidded across the floor, out of her reach.
Struggling to get up, Raye saw the creature in front of her, its tail
forming into a spear, ready to stab her.
"SPHERES OF FIRE, CHAAAARGE!"
Round bursts of fire knocked the creature from Raye, but it recovered
quickly and attacked again. Then a young short-haired blond man with
a navy blue uniform jumped in front of Raye. Forming an invisible
shield around them, he managed to fend off the creature's retaliating
attacks. However, he couldn't hold on any longer and started to go
down on his knees. Raye saw the look of determination on his face as
he refused to give in to the creature's relentless beatings on his
shield.
Then a blast of bubbles surrounded the creature, freezing it in its
spot, and followed instantly by a striking ray beam and flashes of
lightning which finished the creature off. Still under the shield,
the blond man and Raye saw the Sailor Soldiers- Sailor Mercury,
Sailor Venus and Sailor Jupiter- running towards them. The man in
uniform powered down his shield, turned to Raye and helped pick her
up. "Are you all right?" he asked.
Breathing steadily, Raye focused on his face as she held on to him.
'Wow! He's gorgeous!' she thought, taking in his wavy short blond
hair and deep purple eyes. Then she blinked rapidly, coming to her
senses. "Oh! Um, yes, yes! Thank you! You saved me!"
"Princess Raye!" The sailor girls surrounded her, moving the man out
of the way. He gave a look of surprise as he observed their
uniforms. Then he looked around as if expecting someone else to
appear.
"You're not hurt?" Jupiter inquired.
"No, I'm fine."
"Thank goodness, you're all right!" Mercury breathed, relieved. "We
got here in time."
"We should also thank your savior." Venus indicated to the blond man.
"He's one of the Guardians of Earth."
"He is?" Raye gave him a shocked look. "You helped us?"
He shrugged. "My comrades and I were hoping to hold off the creature
until further help arrived. I managed to get in here ahead of it
after it blasted the entrance open."
At that moment, the other Guardians showed up. Raye gasped as she
recognized them from Earth when she rescued the civilian blond
Earthling while searching for Princess Serena. But this short-haired
blond Guardian was new to her.
"No one is hurt?" General Kunzite asked.
"No," said the blond Guardian. "Everyone's fine. The creature's
destroyed."
"We should go report to the Prince!" General Nephrite said.
"We must report to the Queen as well," Mercury added.
Jupiter nodded. "We'll take Princess Raye to her quarters. She'll be
ready to join the other princess escorts in your meeting with the
Queen and her daughter."
"Will you Sailor Soldiers be there as well?" Zoisite asked.
The sailors looked at each other, rapidly. "No," Venus spoke up. "We
will be throughout the kingdom, looking for more of those creatures.
But who knows? Maybe we'll meet again."
As the girls turned to escort Raye, she turned back and walked up to
the blond Guardian. "I want to thank you again for saving me." She
stared into his serious eyes. "What is your name?"
Giving her a gentle smile, he replied, "Jadeite." Then he turned to
his comrades, and they walked off. Raye stared at the retreating
blond Guardian.
'General Jadeite.'
IN THE LATE EVENING...
'What a day!' Raye thought as she laid on her bed. Then she conjured
up the image of General Jadeite, smiled and snuggled her head deeper
in her pillow. All she could picture was his eyes and how similar
they were to the civilian blond from Earth. Jadeite's eyes seemed so
serious while the Earthling seemed so gentle. 'The Earthling is kind
of cute,' she thought, feeling her eyes grow heavy. 'And yet Jadeite
is so intriguing! Why wasn't he with the Guardians when I rescued the
Earthling?' She yawned. "I wonder...will I...ever...see...him...again?'
She drifted off to sleep.
Back on Earth, Jedite ran his hand through his hair as relaxed on his
bed. 'I'm glad the meeting with Queen Serenity turned out all right,'
he thought. Then he smiled when he remembered the first time he saw
Sailor Mars. 'So fiery are her eyes. Very different from Princess
Raye's soft ones.' Sighing, he turned on his side. "Raye is pretty,
but Mars is so breathtaking.' Then he frowned. 'I wonder why she
wasn't there with the other scouts today? I thought she'd show up
after when the others saved me and Raye.' Feeling his eyelids droop,
he gave himself one last thought. 'Maybe I'll...see...her...again.'
He drifted off to sleep.
Raye and Jedite each dreamed the same nice dream. As Sailor Mars and
General Jadeite, they ran to each other, arms open. They enfolded
themselves into each other and hugged very tightly.
* They pulled back a bit to look at each other. Jadeite stared
lovingly into her soft violet orbs. 'There's something about you,' he
thought. Mars looked adoringly into his gentle purple gaze. 'There's
something about you,' she thought. *
They leaned in to share a tender kiss and hold each other closer.
As they slept, the dreamers whispered,
"Jadeite."
"Mars."
