Starry Eyes

Later that morning, when Maiumi-san came to check up on the two, she was surprised to find Haruka clinging to Seiya's hand for dear life. She giggled a little, as she went to adjust some of the machinery. She turned as she heard that telltale rustle in the sheets, signifying a patient awaking.
"M-maiumi-san?" came the now recognizable voice of the femme fatale racer.
"Hai?"
"Just making sure," and with that, Haruka closed her eyes, and Seiko was under the impression that she was sleeping.
'Heh, what a strange person,' she thought, shaking her head at the blonde's antics. As she moved over to the other young man, the one that had struggled up a beach cliff, just to get that young lady to safety, she couldn't help but wonder what other power had helped this young man to still be alive.
"Hmn," she mused, as she leaned over him.
"Could he possibly be..."
A while later, a young blonde with two odangoes positioned on the top of her head was surprised to find her trusted ally awake, leaning against the head board of her bed, watching Jeopardy reruns. Her senshi powers had apparently helped her to recover more quickly than a normal person, seeing as she was now yelling something at the third contestant.
"You idiot! The answer is iodine! IODINE! WHERE THE HECK DID YOU GET ANTI-OXIDENT YOU MORON!" Someone, apparently the doctor, was sitting beside her, trying to resist the urge to laugh her head off. she then noticed someone standing in the doorway.
"Oh, Haruka, is this one of the girls you were telling me about?" Haruka looked up from her rant, to take note of the new intruder.
"Oh, hai, that's...KONEKO-CHAN!" Usagi raced over to her friend, who in turn glomped her with a humungous bear hug.
"I'm so glad to see you awake Haruka-san!" Usagi cheered.
"Heh, you know it takes more than that to take me out!" Haruka winked, and Usagi apparently got her message, as she giggled behind her hand.
"Ahem."
"Oh, yeah, Usagi, this is the doctor for this ward, Maiumi Seiko." Seiko reached out her hand to shake Usagi's.
"I'm on my lunch break, so I decided to spend it with this, um, interesting pair." Usagi, cringed, knowing perfectly well what could possibly happen when you take Haruka and Seiya, and put them in the same room. of course, it probably was toned down, considering his, condition. Haruka caught Usagi's pointed look.
"Don't worry, I didn't hurt the stupid baka more than he already was." Usagi started as seemingly out of nowhere, a large pillow was thrown at Haruka's head.
"You shut up!" Usagi was stunned to see Seiya already without the oxygen tank, and throwing things, let alone talking.
"Seiya, h-how..."
"Don't ask me, I have no idea, unless the psycho chick over there woke up last night and decided to experiment with the test tubes."
"Don't ever, ever call me that again!"
"Alright, whatever psycho chick."
"AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!" Maiumi simply sat there, a hand over her mouth.
"You have some rather interesting friends, miss..."
"Usagi! Tsukino Usagi!"
"Miss. Usagi."
"Well," Usagi replied laughing. "They are rather, uh, special!" Maiumi walked over to Usagi and shook her hand.
"So, you're the princess I've been hearing about nonstop then, huh?" Usagi's eyes flew open wide.
"We had to tell her," Haruka concurred. "Think about it. Two people fall off a cliff into a rock pool, end up in practically a coma, and the next day are yelling at the stupid people on Jeopardy and throwing pillows." Usagi laughed beside herself, as she turned to face the doctor.
"Don't worry Miss. Usagi, the secrets safe with me." Usagi nodded, surprised that Haruka actually trusted her enough to spill the beans.
'But then again,' Usagi pondered. 'She had no other choice.' Maiumi's expression sombered.
"I am extremely glad to know this however, for your sake. Having to fight all those battles without a doctor to report to, I have already booked all of you for an appointment on the twenty-fifth, no if's, and's, or but's about it." Although more than slightly concerned, Usagi was rather relieved to have a licsenced doctor to report to, although Ami was almost just as good.
"And you, uh, actually believed her?" Usagi suddenly wondered out loud.
"Oh, it's no biggie, I have definitely seen and heard much stranger things in my day," Seiko added with a wink. At her friends surprised/confused look, Haruka put in,"On her time off, Maiumi-san is a P.A.S.I." Usagi know looked even more confused. Seiya slightly laughed at her strange face.
"P.A.S.I. means Paranormal Activity and Sighting Inspector."
"Ah," Usagi added.
"You would probably get along with Rei-chan!"
"Oh, my breaks almost over, I will see you two later, and, Miss. Tsukino," Usagi turned to look at the doctor.
"I will see you, and your friends, on the twenty-fifth, ten o'clock, SHARP!" With that, Maiumi Seiko left the room.
"Well, I see you two are alive and kicking," Usagi commented, as she sat down in a chair between the two beds.
"Hmph, if it wasn't for her, I might actually be enjoying my stay here," Seiya cut, his normal witticism returning.
"Hey watch yourself Kou..." Haruka threatened.
"Heh, what can you do all the way over there?" Haruka smiled, saying nothing, and held up the remote for Seiya's bed control.
"Oh, sh-"
"GUYS!" Usagi, yelled, bringing them back to civilized behavior.
"Try and get along, please?"
"I will if he does."
"You i-" Usagi sighed, knowing she was powerless to ever stop the two from feuding. Rougly three hours of talk, fights, and jeopardy reruns later, a nurse once again came in, announcing it was time to return home.
"Fine, fine, I coming." Usagi left the room, with an unreadable wink to Haruka as she left.
'Now I wonder what that was all about,' she thought, as Seiko returned for a second to get the two prepared for the night. After a few more minutes of conversation between the three, now friends, residents of the ward, it was finally only Seiya and Haruka in the dark hospital room.
"Hey, Haruka-san?" Seiya questioned wearily. He was still in pain, and still got tired easily, though not as instensely, and that eventful day had certainly worn him out.
"Mm, Nandesta?"
"Our senshi powers, they're the reason we are healing so quickly, aren't they?"
"Hai."
"When do you think you'll get out?" Haruka, who was in a much better condition, even able to walk to the actual cafeteria without assistance, didn't want Seiya to fret over it, so she strectched her estimate a little.
"Oh, probably in the next five days or so." Seiya could tell she was lying through her teeth, but said nothing.
"Where will you go when you get out?" he asked, treading on dangerously thin ground.
"I rented an apartment, down by the garage, so..." Seiya stared at the ceiling.
"Oh." Haruka was stunned. He actually sounded disappointed.
"Are you okay, Seiya?"
"Uh, hai..." Haruka looked at him from the side of her eye. She was worried about him. While he was asleep, she had overheard some of the nurses talking with another doctor about moving her home early the next morning, while Seiya was asleep.
'What will that idiot do without me,' she thought, unwilling to admit that she really didn't want to leave him. She fought herself for a moment, then decided that she was going to spend her last night there with him.
Seiya was surprised when he felt something slip under the covers beside him. He began stuttering,
"H-haruka?"
"H-hai..."
"What are you do-." He stopped when he felt her fingers wrap around his.
"This is your last night, isn't it?" he whispered.
"I-is it that obvious?"
"Hai."
"Well, yeah, it is. Demo-" she hastily added. "I don't, I don't want to go!" She grabbed him around his shoulder blades and pulled herself closer to him. Poor Seiya didn't know how to react.
"Haruka..." Haruka realized what she was doing, and knew it was a mistake. As she started pulling away, she felt a surprisingly strong pair of arms wrap around her body.
"Would you, would you like to stay with me tonight?" Seiya whispered into her ear. Haruka, stunned at her own display of affection, let alone his, let out an uncharacteristic whimper and nodded.
"Alright," Seiya pulled her to him again, and buried his face into her hair. He was hit with a gorgeous scent, there still even after the whole hospital experience.
"It's alright, Haruka. You won't... be... a..." Haruka chuckled slightly and settled next to him herself, as she felt him fall asleep in her hair.
