Summer is Here!

Chapter One

Summer vacation can get...well-get damn exciting.

"Jen, turn off that CD player!" Laurie yelled. "We only got seven hours till the flight to London departs!"

She's (Laurie, that is) the princess of the Moon Kingdom... actually, the queen. I'm the princess. Laurie is the principal of Richmond private school in Brooklyn.

"Alright!" I said and turned it off. "Where's Matt?"

Matt's the son and the heir of a mega company, Microsoft.

"Oh, hes coming on his private plane. Dont worry about him."

I sighed and packed every clothing I had in the suitcase.

"Doesnt notebook cases count as carry-on?" Laurie asked.

"Yeah." I closed it and put it on my bed. (this is my house,by the way. Laurie keeps her laptop here) "Well, let's get going."

We carried our stuff to her Jaguar. "I hope you have enough space here in this Jag," I said.

"I do, and I'm sure." She put the suitcase in the trunk and closed it. "Get in." The car started and drove off torwards the airport.

"Laurie, do you have the tickets?"

"Yeah, I do." she held them up. "I so love British Airways's first class." She drove into the airport.

The lines were long. "Sheesh, Laurie, I told you to buy them in May!"

"Well, we gotta indure this." We sighed. "I just hope the laptops dont get damaged in the metal detectors."

"Well just request a hand inspection."

We finally got through the crowds with three hours to spare.

"Let's get to the gates and then get some stuff,"I said. "There's stores near the gate."

"Are you sure?" Laurie said. "I mean, I've never been to G-45."

"I have. Just relax."

We walked there, stopping to withdraw money from an ATM and exchanging it for pounds sterling at a bank.

"Wow, we're lucky. We got alot of pounds for dollars," Laurie said.

"Well, they didnt charge much." We bought some snacks and started for the gate. They had started boarding.

"Let's go!" I yelled. We ran for the gate and presented boarding passes, then ran to the plane and sat in first class, which was almost empty. "Wow, how did it get this empty?"

"Because, these tickets are expensive," Laurie said. "They're 800 dollars a pop."

"Oh. Well, when I came here I took US Airways, and I sat in first class, they were 290 dollars. Or was it pounds?"

"Pounds, theyre not that cheap." We sat in the seats and looked out the window. "Do you see anything out there?"

"Well, there's the sun and the crew."

"Oh. I thought..."

"What?"

"Nothing."

I took out the notebook bag and took out the cell phone. "I better call Matt. Hi, Matt."

"Hey," He said on the other side. "Did you take off yet?"

"No. Oh, there, I see your plane! Can you see me? I'm waving."

"Yeah, I see you."

"Did your dad object to this trip?"

"No, just because he wants your Taurus OS." He laughed. "Well, get Laurie on the phone."

"Well, she's currently lost in her head. I'll try though. Laurie, Matt wants to talk to you."

"Oh. Hi Matt."

The plane started up and taxied. "Well, here's goes a trip to London," I said.
