Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ The Price of Love ❯ Chapter 3 ( Chapter 3 )
Ren grimaced as the pack dug deeper into his shoulders. They must have walked hundreds of miles by now and he was dead tired. He glanced wearily at Haruka who seemed to have a limitless amount of energy. How does she do it? He wondered. He forced his feet to walk another few steps before he felt his knees shaking. When he and Jadeite agreed to this job, he never expected it to be this hard… He grimaced when he stubbed his toe… Or this painful. He wanted nothing more than to slump on the ground and give up, but his pride kept him going. Jadeite wasn't weak, and he wasn't weak either. He respected his twin, who always strived for the best.
"Usa. You have to be strong," he told her once. His blue eyes darken with pain. " Other wise the world would eat you to bits. You should never give up" Ren sighed. He was still so young back then to help out much when they were little and the fact that he was both genders made it difficult for him to deal with life even after they're parents abandoned them. If anything, he was going to be stronger and smarter. He'll make Jadeite proud of him. You hear me, Jade? I'm going to make you proud of me!!! Ren smiled a bit at his resolve. With determination, he walked even faster.

Nephrite glanced out at the corner of his eye, the beautiful woman that was assigned to him.
"Something wrong?" Setsuna asked him. Nephrite felt himself flushed.
"No…it's just that you reminded me of someone."
"Oh?"
"Yes, a close friend of mine"
"Tell me about her"
"She was beautiful and smart. She was going to be an astrologer. She could read the future in the stars" Setsuna smiled.
"Did she become an astrologer?"
"No" he answered quietly, the memory still fresh in his mind. " She was killed in a gang war back on my planet."
"I'm sorry"
"That's ok" Nephrite glanced up. "She's back in the stars where she's happy" They walked the rest of the way silently.

Jadeite glanced. It was beautiful, he admitted, the grass and emerald color and the sky a deep blue. He wished Usagi was here to share it with him.
"You must love your brother a lot" Hotaru remarked.
"I do. He's all I have left"
"What about your parents?"
"They abandoned us" He watched her expression closely. Most people after hearing that would move or looked disgusted like it was his or Usa fault they were left on the street. Hotaru just smiled with sympathy. He was slightly surprised when she reached out her hand to grab his.
"I'm sorry, do you have any other family?"
"No, just Se…er…I mean Ren"
"I see" Hotaru smiled sadly. "I never knew my parents. They died when I was little. I was raised by the other scouts"
"Were they good parents?" he teased. There was just something about her that made him instantly feel at ease.
"The best" Hotaru laughed enthusiastically. "There was this one time where Haruka-father and I snuck out to eat at this tavern. I had a stomached ache for weeks! Michiru-mother and Setsuna-mother was so upset!!!" Jadeite smiled at her.
"There was this one time Ren and I…"

Zoisite tried not to frowned as he walked into another puddle. There was something off about this forest that they were walking through. It was almost as if they were alive…?!!! He could have sworn that they walked through this part of the woods before. In fact that broken tree branch was familiar!!!
"Michiru?" he called out. He turned around only to see the green hair senshi nowhere in sight.
"Michiru?" He didn't notice a shadow with glowing red eyes as it snuck out from behind him. He barely had time to grunt as it jumped and attacked him. He felt his arms being twisted around his back. Michiru laughed a bit as she released him.
"You have to be more aware, if I could do this to you, image what other more scarier and stronger things could do." She smiled at him.
"Come on. We have to get going." With a groaned, Zoisite got up and followed.
