Echo Through the Ages

Neo Queen Serenity looked over her vast kingdom with confusion. The borders were re-aligning, and a Golden fog had covered the planes of Terra, leaving a mysterious Golden frost in it's wake. Something was not quite right. She felt a queer sensation in the pit of her stomach

*Endymion * she called into the stillness. She reached out along the bond that she'd formed with her husband ages ago, only to discover that the familiar presence at the other end was missing. She looked around her immediate surroundings in horror. Crystal Tokyo was fading!!
*How is this happening?! This can't be happening it's impossible! *
Memories she'd held dear to her heart for millennia suddenly began to lose their clarity, and a wave of nausea washed over the Queen.
*Endymion!! *
No response.
*I must stop this! *
It took all her strength to reach for the Imperium Silver Crystal, her only hope against this new "enemy."
She wielded its power with all her might; calling forth the ancient magic's stored inside.
A wave of sliver energy washed over the city, racing toward the Golden fog.
Within seconds it had been consumed. Serenity could only watch in horror that sickly fog enveloped the entire city.

*Pluto! * She called *Pluto, what is happening! Where are the other scouts?! *
Sailor Pluto's ghostly form appeared before the Queen, a strangely calm look on her face.

*The time lines are re-aligning, Highness. * She answered.

*Re-aligning?! What does that mean!! *

*It simply means that things will not be as they once were, Highness. Something important has happened in the past, something not meant to occur in this time line. An epic event, Highness. A life-altering event. *

*Life-altering? *

*I can tell you no more than that, Highness. Trust me, in time, you will know all. *

*Then there is no way to stop it? *

*Not even you can change the past, Highness. *
Serenity sighed in defeat. She knew what was coming, and it scared her to death.

*Pluto? What of my family? Will they service this re-alignment? *
The Senshi of Time regarded her Queen with silent respect. Truth be told, she did love Endymion and Rini with all her heart. But, she reflected, she had been the one born to protect time, and not even her service to the Terran Empire interfered with that duty.
*You will know all soon, Highness. * The Queen shivered.
With those words, the Senshi of time made her leave. Serenity was strong. She'd survive.

A river of silver tears slowly flowed over the angelic face of the High Monarch of the Moon. Serenity wept for the loss of her family, her thoughts hovering over her beloved husband and daughter. She loved Endymion, her soul mate with every once of her being. Their daughter Rini, was the very symbol of their love for each other.
*Rini. *
With what had happened in the past, and the quite riddles whispered by the Senshi of Time, Serenity knew her lovely daughter would cease to exist. Not even she could stop the flow of time...
Not even she could change the past.
Time waited for no one it seemed. Not even the all-powerful Queen.
She collapsed then, her soul shattered, her heart torn to shreds. As the golden fog moved in on her broken form, all Serenity could do was weep.
She wondered vaguely, as the fog consumed her, which evil was responsible for this hell...

Inside her sanctuary near the Time Gate, Setsuna laughed bitterly. So Serenity wondered at the evil that had sealed her fate? How ironic that it had been the decision of the Moon Princess herself that had undone the time-weave. She sighed, tears of grief slipping across the planes of her face. It was agonizing to watch the Crystal utopia crumble with such ease.

Time had fully re-aligned itself by then, the puzzle complete and waiting for observation.
Setsuna gasped.
A stunning vista of gold greeted the Senshi's eyes. A league of planets from all across the galaxy were bound together, forming a massive empire. *What is this? *
She scrolled through the pages of written time, feeling faint as history caught up with itself.
*What have you done sister? *

To be continued...

I know it's short, but I needed to bridge the gap between part two and the next part. This looks as though it'll be a long saga right now, so be patient with me! Oh yes, a reminder: feedback people, feedback! I crave it, praise or flames, send it my way!
