The Star Scouts all glared as the Sailor Scouts arrived. Emerald shot a look at Jupiter and said "Concentrate Scouts. We have youma to take care of."

A few minutes into the fight the Star Scouts found themselves back to back with their Sailor Scout counterparts. Emerald growled in annoyance as she blasted a youma away from her with a lightning ball.

"Look, why don't you and your friends go do something more productive, like staying out of our way." Emerald snapped. Jupiter and Emerald both turned and glared at each other.

"Oh yeah-" Jupiter started, but there was a whirling sound and they found themselves chained to each other by some kind of handcuffs.

"What the-? Get these off of us, right now!" Emerald glared at the youma.

"Ahh, forget it!" Emerald easily destroyed the last youma with a blast of electricity.

The Jovian tugged at her cuffs, irritated. Jupiter jerked her arm back, pulling Emerald forward. Emerald shot a nasty glare at her future mother, and she then summoned her sword to her free hand. She raised the sword with her right hand and swung it down onto the cuffs. The blade ricocheted off, flew out of her hand and buried itself in a tree trunk. Emerald was shaking from the aftershock of the blow. Jupiter supported her until she recovered.

"Are you alright?" she asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine." Emerald responded rubbing her head shakily. All of them detransformed.

"Umm.... How come you two are the only ones cuffed?" Serena asked.

Hannah glanced over at the blond and responded "Because everyone else avoided the attack."

"Look it's getting late, why don't you just stay with Lita at her apartment." Amy suggested.

"No way!" Lilly protested, taking a step forward.

"Lil, it's the most logical thing to do right now." Hannah pointed out, in a slightly defeated voice.

Lita's Apartment:

The trapped Jovian pair had discovered that the cuffs would extend in length. Hannah and Lita sat on either end of her couch. Hannah sighed in frustration.

"If James was here, he'd be able to get this thing off us." Hannah muttered, glaring at the floor.

Lita opened her mouth to speak after having some foreign maternal protectiveness stir inside her.

"Someone mentioned me?" said a masculine voice. A boy a year or two older than Hannah stood in the doorway. He had dark blue eyes and dark brown hair, and he wore some kind of dark green armor and wielded a sword.

"James!" Hannah leapt to her feet and shot over, extending the cuffs. James gave her a light kiss on the forehead. Hannah turned back to Lita, and leaned against James' chest.

"And this is?" Lita looked inquiringly at Hannah.

"My, um, boyfriend, James Sodano." Hannah responded.

"How many boyfriends have you had?" Lita asked.

"Two, including James. I don't go ga-ga over every cute boy I see, unlike someone I know." Hannah smirked at her future mother.

"Now, can you get these things off?" Hannah asked. James smiled and unsheathed his sword.

The sword sliced the cuffs cleanly in half. Hannah grinned and tugged the remaining pieces of the cuffs off.

"I guess I'll be leaving now, bye!" Hannah made for the door.

"Wait a minute." Lita cut her off. "He can go. You have to stay here."

"But-" Hannah started to protest.

"No buts, I'm your future mother." Lita smirked.

Hannah sulkily obeyed and sat down.

Bianca's Room:

Amara looked around her future daughter's room. There were several posters of motorcycles, cars, and racers on the walls.

"I suppose you inherited the love for racing from me?" Amara inquired.

"Of course. Hannah's into it too. We're the only two princesses you'll ever see working on and racing our motorcycles." Bianca responded.

Kaze's Room:

Kaze's room had photos of the ocean, animals, the sky and storms on the walls. Michelle examined a photo album. One photo that caught her eye was of Kaze, Bianca, Amara and herself having a picnic. The next picture was of Kaze and Bianca, each carrying a small kitten in their arms.

"That was taken when Bianca and I first got our guardian cats." Kaze said as she walked over.

"All of you have guardian cats?" Michelle asked, looking at the small black and white kitten in the picture.

"Yes. Mine is Ariel and Bianca's is Cressida." Kaze replied.

Lilly's Room:

Lilly and Raye sat in an awkward silence. Lilly kept her eyes on her feet, thinking. There was a knock on the door.

"Yes?" Lilly called, looking up.

"Can we come in?" Kate's voice asked.

"Sure."

Kate and Mina entered the room.

"Hannah called on her communicator. They got the hand-cuff thing off, thanks to James." Kate reported, smiling.

"Good, is she coming home?" Lilly asked.

"Umm…… I don't think so. Not tonight." Kate answered as white kitten with a black tipped tail jumped on her shoulder.

"Okay, than we'll see her tomorrow." Lilly said. A brown black-pawed kitten padded over to jump onto Lilly's lap.

"Raye, Mina, meet Calypso. My guardian." Lilly said.

"And this is my guardian, Rhea." Kate chipped in.

"Speaking of Guardians, where're Artemis and Luna?" Mina asked.

Lilly and Kate looked at each other, and then shrugged.

Two Weeks Later at School:

The day was unusually warm. Kids laughed and ran down the streets, their jackets in their fists. Adults fanned themselves with papers and air conditioners hummed to life all around the city.

Outside during lunch, Hannah stood in the sun. She had her arms around her and was shivering with cold. Kate walked over to her.

"Hannah, what's wrong?" Kate asked, seeing Hannah's pale face.

"N-Nothing, I'm fine Kate." Hannah responded. The young Venusian princess scanned her leader with her sky blue eyes.

"It's at least eighty degrees out here and you're shivering. You're anything but fine, Hannah." Kate stated, worried.

Kaze, Bianca, Lilly, Misty, Marie, and Anna walked over.

"What's up?" Bianca asked, hand in her pockets.

"Something's wrong with Hannah. She's sick." Kate said.

"I'm fine." Hannah repeated stubbornly.

Misty noticed Hannah shivering and felt her forehead. It was burning.

"You're burning up." Misty confirmed to Kate.

"That's it. You, Hannah, are going home now. Bianca, Lilly, could you take her?" Kate asked.

"Sure." Bianca and Lilly chimed together. The pair led Hannah off, much to her displeasure.

-----------------------------------------------

After school the Star Scouts were doing their homework in the living room. Hannah's communicator started beeping.

"Scouts, major attack in the park." Luna Belle said.

"We're on it Belle." Hannah replied.

"Hannah, you stay here." Lilly said firmly.

"Hey! You of all people should know never to try to get me to stay away from a youma battle." Hannah shot back, irritably.

"Have it your way than. Mars Planet Power!"

The others followed her lead and transformed. They then teleported to the park. What Luna Belle had failed to mention was that it was just a attack. It was a full out war.

The clouds were swirling black. Rain pounded, and lighting cracked across the sky.

At least a thousand youma were scattered around the park and everything surrounding it. They were undoubtedly in the city too.

"I think it turned from a few fights to the war we knew was coming." Crystal said darkly.

"If it's a war they want, it's a war they'll get." Emerald stated. By now all of the scouts were soaked through by the rain.

"Well, let's start taking care of these youma." Ruby piped up.

Emerald grinned and lifted one hand into the air, palm opened. An emerald green sword materialized. She twirled it around in her hand a few times, getting the feel for it. When she looked back at her team, she saw that they each had their own weapon in hand.

Ruby had a bow and arrows. Aquamarine had a mirror like Neptune's. Garnet had a magic staff. Amethyst had a glaive. Sapphire had a scimitar. Tanzanite had her Wind Sword.

---------------------------------------

Sailor Moon and the Scouts arrived in the park to see eight figures cutting down youma expertly. Sailor Emerald did a back-handspring away from three advancing youma.

"Well, what're we waiting for? Let's go help them!" Sailor Mars said.

-----------

Sailor Emerald looked over at the scouts distracted, unaware that a youma was speeding at her.

"Emerald, watch it!" Tanzanite shouted, panicking.

Emerald looked up just as a blade ran her through the stomach. The Star Scouts started struggling to get through the youma to her. Her eyes glazed over as she stared at the sword in her stomach. Emerald looked up at the triumphant looking youma, and, with the last of her strength, shoved her own sword through its heart. The slain youma fell.

Emerald gritted her teeth and removed the sword, but she knew that the damage was done.

"Hannah!" Aquamarine screamed.

The Star Scouts were by their fallen leader in a flash. Ruby caught Emerald before she fell and carefully held her best friend.

"Hey…" Emerald brushed away Ruby's tears. "Don't cry. I'll always be watching over you."

"No! You can't die Hannah. You can't! Not like this." Ruby cried, tears mingling with the rain.

"I didn't want to go this way either, Lil. But it's destiny." Emerald said gently.

"This isn't your destiny, Hannah. You still have your whole life ahead of you." Aquamarine said, tears streaming down her face.

"Tell Luna Belle that I'll miss her." Emerald said weakly.

"You'll be able to tell her yourself. You'll see. Misty'll come up with something. And you'll recover from this." Tanzanite choked out.

"I'll miss you guys too, a lot. You're all like my sisters." Emerald's eyes were misting over.

"Hannah, you can't leave us!" Sapphire cried.

"This isn't goodbye, it's merely farewell." And her eyes closed and her breathing stopped.

"No, don't leave us! Hannah, we need you!" Amethyst begged.

All of the Star Scouts broke down crying. Ruby hugged Emerald's body tightly, sobbing.

All the while the Sailor Scouts watched in numb disbelief.

Hannah Kino, Princess of Jupiter and Leader of the Star Scouts, was dead.
