Sailor Moon Fan Fiction ❯ The Start Of Something ❯ The Start Of Something ( Chapter 3 )

[ A - All Readers ]
Happy Valentine's Day 2002! Sailor DKC here, back with my 16th story!
This is the concluding part of the trilogy, starring Raye and Jedite.
The first two were Something About You and Could It Be? It sure was
fun doing this trilogy. I'm doing another one again with my last
story, #15 -Girl! You There!, starring Lita and Nephlite.

The picture I am using is from the artist Soylent Green from the site
Generals Love. My other stories are from that site, too, as well as
A Sailor Moon Romance, Lalala Land and Lovers That Never Were. When
you see this *, I am describing the picture of Raye and Jedite.
Rated G. Entertainment only. Don't own Sailor Moon. Takeuchi does.
Have fun reading!

It's been six months since September 11, 2001, and I'm always saying
long phrases to keep the spirits up and not give up hope for peace.
From now on, I'll just mention peace before every story. So, for the
last time, hang in there, everyone and give peace a chance!

Dedicated to Soylent Green! Your work is so beautifully dramatic!

THE START OF SOMETHING
By Sailor DKC

On the Moon...

The party had already ended. Guests left either to go back to Earth
or to their guest rooms in the Moon Palace. Three princesses bid
good night to three Earth Generals and went to their rooms. The
Generals went to the transportation room to wait for their prince.
One princess had stayed in her room throughout the whole party ever
since...
One Earth General stayed out in the balcony throughout the whole
party ever since...
...they found out who the other's real identity was.

Still in her party gown, Raye sat on the bed staring out her window,
and looking at the blue planet, Earth. "I can't believe it!" she said
to herself. "General Jadeite is Lord Jedite!"
Pacing around the balcony, Jadeite shook his head slowly in
wonderment. "How amazing!" he muttered to himself. "Princess Raye is
Sailor Mars!"

Princess Serena and Prince Darien were walking in the royal
courtyard, holding hands. "The party was wonderful tonight,"
complimented Darien.
"Yes, and nothing happened." Serena smiled at him, squeezing his hand
gently. The prince then stopped and turned her to face him.
"I'm glad." He gently caressed her face. "If anything should happen
to you-" He suddenly stopped talking as he leaned toward her. Serena
raised her head up, offering her lips. They kissed very tenderly.

"RRRAAAGGGHHH!!!"

They broke apart, and they turned to see a huge winged creature,
swooping toward them. Darien grabbed Serena in his arms, and they
both dove to the ground just as the monster missed them. As it swung
for another attack, its huge body knocked down a couple of statues.
Hearing the noises, Jadeite leaped down from the balcony and dashed
toward the courtyard. Fleeing from her bedroom, Raye ran through the
halls.
The other Generals joined up with Jadeite as they arrived at the
attack scene. The creature was diving toward the prince and the
princess again.

"SPHERES OF FIRE...CHARGE!" (Jadeite)
"SPHERES OF ENERGY...BLAST!" (Kunzite)
"ZOI-PETALS...PULVERIZE!" (Zoisite)
"STAR SWORD...STRIKE!" (Nephrite)

The Generals' powers managed to hit the creature, wounding it.
Suddenly and incredibly, it managed to get up and attacked the
Generals, knocking them across the air, yelling. The creature then
headed toward the fallen men again as they tried to get up.

"MARS...FLAME SNIPER!"
"VENUS...LOVE AND BEAUTY SHOCK!"
"MERCURY...AQUA RHAPSODY!"
"JUPITER...OAK EVOLUTION!"

The creature was blasted to the ground. The Sailor Scouts powered up
again. "Hurry!" yelled Mars. "Help us before it recovers!"
The Generals quickly shot out their attacks at the same time with the
Sailor Scouts. Screaming in defeat, the creature was finally
destroyed. "We did it!" Jadeite shouted. Everyone cheered, then
quickly went to the prince and the princess. Darien held Serena very
close to him as she trembled but managed a relieved smile.
"This is getting serious," Darien quietly said.

It was decided the next day that Princess Serena would have security
always by her side. The Generals and the Prince stayed on the Moon
for a more days before they returned to Earth. On the day when they
had to leave, Jadeite closed his guest room and headed for the
transportation room. "Wait, General!" Sailor Mars ran up to him as
he turned to face her. "I, um, I wanted to see you before you left."
"You do?" Jadeite was shocked. "I didn't think you want to after you
found out who I am."
Folding her hands and looking down shyly, Mars replied, "Well, I was
surprised that you were Lord Jedite this whole time, but I already
liked you then."
"But you gotta admit that you were more taken with me as General
Jadeite," he said, chuckling.
"What about you?" Mars gave him an oh-yeah? look. "You were more
interested in me as Sailor Mars then in my true self."
"True." Jadeite reached out to take her hand. "But now that I know
that you're Princess Raye, I like to get to know you better."
Mars blinked her eyes in awe. "Really?"
Nodding, he squeezed her hand gently. "Will you spend a day with me
on Earth?"

Her heart leaped. He's asking her out! "On one condition, we meet in
our civilian forms so we can get to know each other better in our
true selves.
Smiling, he kissed her hand. "As you wish."
After a while, they heard the Generals' voices ahead toward the
transportation room. "I must go. I will let you know through a
message when we will have our day together." Jadeite backed away
from Mars a few feet, his eyes never leaving hers. "Goodbye."
Then he turned and was gone.
"Goodbye." Mars' heart thumped wildly as she watched his retreating
back. "Contact me soon."

A few days later...on Earth

Raye and Jedite walked through the streets of a city miles from the
castle of Prince Darien. "That was a great meal!" Raye said.
"Although I admit that side order was a bit spicy."
"Would you like a cold drink?" Jedite offered. She nodded, and he
went to a nearby ice drink stand. Raye sat on a public bench,
waiting for him to return. Then to one side on her left, she noticed
a person going into an alley. At first, she decided to look the other
way, but then an eerie purplish glow from the same alley caught her
attention. Curiously, she got up and walked over to the alley. As
she peered in, she saw a woman with long red hair, kneeling before
what seemed to be a black void with purplish glowing energy
surrounding it. From the void, she heard the most eeriest voice.
"Beeee...ryyylll."
"Yes?" replied the woman. "What are your orders, Queen Mettalia?"

"Raye!" Jedite called out. Gasping, Raye hit a stone on the ground
with her foot. She then quickly darted away as she saw the woman whip
around toward the sound. Raye hurried back to the bench where Jedite
was, holding two lemon ice drinks. He handed her one, and they both
sat down and drank. "So, has there been any news yet of who is behind
these attacks on Princess Serena?" Raye asked.
"We're not sure," Jedite began. "But there had been witnesses who
said a woman may be part of this."
"A woman?"
"Yes, her name is Beryl. I remember seeing her a few times at some
parties when the Prince attends. I think she has a thing for him."
"Beryl? Does she have red hair?"
"Yes. How did you know?"
"Well, I think I saw-" Raye was interrupted by a piercing screech.

They both turned to see a creature running towards them and, dropping
their drinks, leaped separately out of the way as it crashed onto the
bench. Quickly, Raye took out her transformation wand, and Jedite
twisted his jadeite stone ring and raised his hand.

"MARS POWER, MAKE-UP!"
"JADEITE STONE, TRANSFORM!"

When the creature recovered and stood to attack again, it turned to
face Sailor Mars and General Jadeite. "How dare you spoil a peaceful
afternoon of conversation!" Mars proclaimed. "I, Sailor Mars, will
punish you!"
"You have no right to attack innocent people!" Jadeite exclaimed. "It
will not be forgiven, so says I, Jadeite, General of Earth!"
The creature looked at them closely, then focused on Mars. Its eyes
glowed the eerie purple glow, as if receiving instructions. "Beerryl
ssays kiiilll giiiirrrll!" it growled, then sprang at Mars. She
quickly jumped over the creature, landed behind it, turned and cried
out, "FIRE...SOUL!"
Swiftly turning, the creature knocked the fire ball back at her. Mars
screamed as her own attack slammed her against a wall. She slumped
to the ground. "RAYE!" Jadeite ran to her and held her in his arms.
She moaned and passed out.

The creature screeched again and ran toward them. Jadeite looked up
at the advancing monster, his anger rising to a furious level. He got
up and cried out, "SPHERES OF FIRE...CHARGE!"
Short rounds of fire bursts headed straight for the creature. It got
ready to hit them back, but instead the fire bursts flew over the
creature so fast they bounced on the wall behind it and hit the
creature in the back. Screaming, it burned up to a crisp. Jadeite
then turned and lifted Mars in his arms.

* Holding her in his arms, Jadeite looked down at his lovely Sailor
Soldier. Moaning slightly, Mars raised her right hand to press her
fingers against her forehead. *

"Mmmm, Jedite?" Mars moved about as she opened her eyes. She found
herself in a bed, then felt a cold cloth pressed on her forehead.
Sitting by her bedside, Jadeite carefully positioned the cloth on her
head. "I'm here. You're gonna be fine. Just a nasty bump."
"The creature-"
"It's gone, destroyed." He smoothed her black hair. "I'm so glad
you're all right. I'd go crazy if anything happened to you."
"You would? Oh, Jadeite." Mars reached up to caress his cheek.
After a while of adored gazing, Jadeite said, "As you awoke, you
called me Jedite. Is it really me you're calling for, or General
Jadeite?"
"You," she whispered. "Before I passed out after the creature got me,
you called me Raye. Is it me, or Sailor Mars?"
"You." Bending his head, he placed his lips on hers.

They kissed for a while. Lovingly, he caressed her temples with his
mouth and his nose. "I already informed your Sailor friends that
you're here in the prince's castle and what happened. They're on
their way. It seems whoever you saw didn't want you saying
anything."
"If it is Beryl, do you think she could be a part of these attacks?"
"I don't know, but it does start to make a lot of sense. Prince
Darien will want a full report on this."
"Then this could be the start of something happening. What do we do?"
"For now, nothing until everyone, the Sailor Soldiers and the
Generals, knows what we know. We should stick together no matter
what. OK?"
"OK."

Mars smiled and Jadeite smiled back.
"Raye."
"Jedite."
They kissed again for a long while. When they ended their kiss,
Jadeite said, "It looks like we're both on the start of something
also." He touched his forehead with hers.
Mars responded by rubbing her nose softly with his. "The start of
something wonderful," she agreed.
