True Love is Not Cliche: Mirai Trunks and Mina

Part 14: The End of Round 2

The intermission ended and round two was about to begin. "Man, I have one tough battle ahead" Gohan told Trunks. "Yeah, at least you get a challenge," replied Trunks. "Yeah, I guess" he replied.

The announcer stepped into the ring and outstretched his microphone. "All right ladies and gentlemen, it's time for round two! Our first match of the round is Videl vs. Sailor Jupiter!" called the announcer.

Videl and Lita entered the ring and faced off. Punches and kicks flew at each other. "Sparkling Wide Pressure!" called Lita as she hurled the crackling sphere of energy at Videl. This caught Videl off guard and slammed into her chest. Videl was knocked down, but quickly jumped back and regained battle stance. Videl threw a couple of ki spheres at Lita. Lita was hit by them, but was only momentarily out of it. Videl took the opportunity and flew at Lita. She began to pummel her. Lita got her bearings and began returning attacks. An antenna extended from Lita's tiara. Videl jumped back and began to build ki for her own attack. "Supreme Thunder Crash!" called Lita as she concentrated the thunder attack towards Videl. Videl powered up for a powerful ki blast. The blast collided with each others and exploded. Smoke billowed and Videl took advantage of Lita's inability to sense ki signatures. Videl blurred behind Lita and delivered a hard punch to the small of her back. This took Lita by complete surprise as she was hurled from the ring. Lita landed on the grass outside the ring. "That's it people! Videl is the winner of this match!" called the announcer. Videl and Lita exited the ring.

"Now lets start the next match! We have an interesting one here people. Two former competitors that have both done quite well in the past. This will be a close on ladies and gentlemen. This match is Krillin vs. Tien!" called the announcer.

Tien and Krillin stepped into the ring. The friends smiled at each other and took fighting stance. The announcer gave the signal and the match began. Krillin and Tien blurred and clashed in the air. They both exchanged equal attacks before stopping in a stand off and staring each other down. Tien smirked and prepared for a technique. "Tri Form!" called Tien. Tien split into his tri form and all three attacked Krillin at once. Krillin dodged furiously from the bombardment of attacks. Krillin flipped away from them and prepared to strike. He released two powerful blasts that collided with two of the Tiens. This broke Tien's technique and the tri form ended. Krillin powered up for an attack to finish the battle. "Ka..me..ha..me..ha!!" called Krillin as he fired the signature move at Tien. Tien countered with one of his own, but was soon over powered by Krillin and thrown from the ring. "Tien has been knocked out of the ring! The winner of this match is Krillin!" called the announcer.

Krillin and Tien both walked proudly from the ring.

"Okay, lets get on with it. Our next match features Satan's city's own Mr. Hercule Satan, and west capital's very own Trunks Briefs!" called the announcer with his usual corny dialogue. Trunks sighed, this wasn't going to be much of a fight. Although, he knew that his next battle would be against Gohan or his father, and that would be more than enough challenge to make up for this one. Trunks and Mr. Satan entered the ring.

Mina giggled as she looked at her husband's bored expression. 'Don't worry honey, you'll get your fight' she told him telepathically. 'I know,' he replied back.

The announcer gave the signal for the fight to begin. Mr. Satan began making weird Ginyu Force movements and uttering high pitched squeals. 'Man, this guy is strange' thought Trunks. Mr. Satan finished his Ginyu-like stances and charged at Trunks. Trunks did a simple drop spin kick and then punched him with minimal force. But Trunks' minimal force sent Mr. Satan crashing into the wall. Trunks exited the ring while Mr. Satan was helped up escorted from the ring.

"Trunks is the winner of that match! Now for the final match of this round. It's Gohan vs. Vegeta!" ranted the announcer. Gohan and Vegeta met each other in the ring. The announcer gave the signal for the battle to begin. Gohan and Vegeta stared each other down waiting to see who would move first. Suddenly they both launched at each other. Their fists connected with each other's and continued to feverishly punch. They both powered up to super saiyan level 1 and continued go at each other. The powering up continuing until they both had reached their maximum at super saiyan level 3. Vegeta fired a Final Flash at Gohan while he fired a Kamehameha wave to counter. The blasts clashed and fought for control. Gohan poured everything into the blast and it slowly began to cancel out Vegeta's final flash. Vegeta was hit with the massive Kamehameha. The blast exploded around him and Vegeta's singed body fell outside the ring. Gohan powered down as did Vegeta. Vegeta stood up and crossed his arms as he walked away from the ring. He had to admit Kakarot's brat was one hell of a fighter, the question was, was his brat strong enough to beat him. Vegeta smirked. His brat had beat the tin cans, his chances were pretty good. "Hey, um, good fight dad," said Trunks meekly. "Brat, you have one hell of a match ahead, so I suggest that you train your mind so that you are ready," Vegeta said as he walked off. Trunks simply nodded knowing that his father was right.

The announcer called another short intermission. Matches for the semi-finals were posted. Trunks vs. Videl and Krillin vs. Gohan. The intermission ended and the announcer began again calling out the first match of the semi-finals

"Now ladies and gentlemen we have Videl vs. Trunks!" he called. The two fighters entered the ring. Videl knew she wouldn't win, but that it would be a fun fight. Trunks also sensed a fun fight coming. Videl was pretty strong and a worthy opponent.

The announcer gave the signal and the fight began. Videl launched at Trunks and began to punch at him. Trunks blocked all her punches and delivered a few of his own. Trunks and Videl continued to spar until Trunks decided to end the fight a harder punch that knocked Videl from the ring. "Videl has been knocked out of the ring, Trunks is the winner and moves into one of the slots for the final round!" Now on to the final match of this round. We have Gohan vs. Krillin!" called the announcer.

Gohan and Krillin entered the ring. The two friends smiled at each other and remembered all their adventures together like the trip to Namek. They both took fighting stance. The announcer gave the go ahead and Krillin and Gohan blurred out of sight. They exchanged punches and various fighting techniques. Everyone knew Gohan was likely to win, but anyone who had fought Krillin before knew he was far from weak. They stopped their onslaught and flew apart to regroup. Krillin began to power up for an attack. "Distructo Disk!" called Krillin as he fired three of the lethal disks at Gohan. "Yikes!" Gohan yelped as he dodged the sharp disks. Krillin used his manipulating techniques to make the disks chase Gohan. Gohan continued to dodge the disks until he had enough and powered up to super saiyan. Gohan blasted the disks and destroyed them. Gohan and Krillin continued their fight, but Krillin was soon knocked out of the ring by a hard punch from the super saiyan. "Krillin has been thrown from the ring, Gohan is the winner and moves into the second slot for the final battle of the World Martial Arts tournament! After a short intermission, the final match will begin! Gohan vs. Trunks!
