I don't own Saint Tail or its characters. The characters belong to Megumi Tachikawa! I only own the plot of the story and any ocs in the story!

Heavy breathing was being heard as Meimi and Daiki watched over the girl that they could talk to about anything. Meimi couldn’t believe how stupid she was, bringing along Seira in this kind of police work. Meimi heard a small sob from Seira as she poured alcohol down the nun’s throat. Daiki looked at Meimi in horror at her actions. However, it was like a light had appeared in his brain and understanding showed on his handsome features. He understood why Meimi was just casually pouring hard liquor down Seira’s throat. After a while, Seira’s face was getting flushed. It took half of the bottle to get her tipsy. “Sorry, Seira, but this is the best way at the moment.” Meimi spoke to Seira, tangling her hand in her hair. Seira was confused, but her stomach felt so warm and full and so, she started to giggle. Meimi smiled at Seira, happy to have helped her best friend.

“Why did you give her that?” Daiki asked Meimi. Meimi tried not to glare at the foolish young man standing beside her.

“Isn’t it obvious to you? I gave it to her so she could stay happy and safe.” She spoke to Daiki. Daiki caught what Meimi was saying and he wondered if it was too late to take her back to the church where she was raised.

“Is it too late to take her back?” Daiki asked with a defeated voice. Meimi suddenly felt fear as she pondered Daiki’s question. Guilt filled her as well because it was her own fault that she had Seira in her arms when they spoke to Daiki that one time. That one time had forced them into this position where they had to hide from every corner in Seika. Damn it! This is the bad side of Seika too! Meimi tried to calm down as she helped Seira up to her feet. Seira giggled again, but this giggle was weaker was her first giggle.

“Yes, Daiki, it’s too late to take her back. We have to bring her along with us and her being tipsy is better than her being natural and scared.” Meimi answered the question that she was sure that the question didn’t need to be answered; she just wanted to hear her voice. She wanted to keep Seira tipsy as it meant that Seira won’t scream at everything. They needed her quiet. Meimi glanced over at Seira and she was watching them with that same innocent smile, only this time, the tipsiness was in her eyes somewhat. “Hey, Seira, what’s two plus two?” Daiki looked over at Seira, hoping that she’ll get it right.

“Four?” She answered with a giggle afterwards. Both Meimi and Daiki sighed in relief.

“At least, she’s not a dumbass when she’s tipsy.” Daiki was relieved over this fact as it meant that Seira still does have her common sense.

“We still have to babysit her, however. The church did a great job keeping her sheltered.” Meimi tells Daiki. Daiki didn’t mind babysitting at all as Seira wasn’t as difficult as Meimi was. Meimi then watched the corner that they were about to pass. Meimi threw her arm out which told Daiki to stop moving. Daiki grabbed a hold of Seira and pulled her closer to him. Seira slightly panicked until she remembered who she was with. She relaxed in Daiki’s tight hold and she placed her head on his chest, making him slightly panic about the jealous rage that Meimi has and then he remembered that he hasn't confessed yet. Damn! He thought. “She gets clingy to people holding her when she’s in that state. Don’t worry, she likes to switch.” Meimi tells Daiki.

“That sounds wrong.” Daiki tells Meimi, who did realize how bad that sounded when the words left her mouth. They couldn’t talk about Seira any longer as they started to hear sounds. To keep Seira quiet, Daiki pressed his hand against her mouth. Seira suddenly felt uncomfortable as she fought against Daiki and Daiki had to hold her very tightly. “Why is she?” Daiki couldn’t finish his question as another person walked upon them. The person was a tall female and she was sporting a smirk on her lovely features. The only issue was that she had a gun in her hands.

Meimi had to ignore Seira’s soft cries in order to face this new enemy. “Who are you brats and why are you here?” The woman demanded from them. Daiki released Seira’s mouth as she promised that she would be quiet. Meimi didn’t want to answer that she was Saint Tail as she knew that there were some criminals out looking for Saint Tail.

“What do you want from us?” Meimi demanded back at the woman. The woman laughed at Meimi’s bravery. This brat is brave as hell! She thought, watching Meimi through her dark eyes.

“You’re on my territory, kid.” The woman answered with a simple, yet dark tone as she raised up her gun. Meimi didn’t falter at the sight of the gun, but Daiki placed his hand on his back pocket, willing to pull out his gun to fire at the woman threatening Meimi. The woman started to press on her trigger and that was when Daiki had pulled out his gun and fired.

The bullet went through the woman’s stomach, killing her intently as the limb body fell to the ground. Meimi looked at Daiki in both shock and horror as she wasn’t expecting him to shoot the woman. “Daiki, what the hell?” She shouted at the young man. Daiki was breathing very heavily and Seira shivering in his hold didn’t help matters as he turned his gun on her.

“Wait, Daiki!” Seira called out to him. Daiki suddenly regained his senses. He noticed where his gun was aimed at and shame overtook his being. He removed his arm from Seira and pushed her away. Meimi caught Seira as Daiki shot the ground.

“Damn it!” He cried out, unable to believe that he was about to shoot Seira. What was I thinking? He cursed himself.

“Go hide.” Seira obeyed Meimi’s order as Meimi went to hug Daiki. “It’s alright, Daiki. You’ve lost your mind for a moment. Look at the predicament we’re in. It’s normal.” Meimi calmed Daiki as much as she could. She gazed over the woman’s body, watching as blood came out very quickly. She dry heaved at the sight. Is this what it has come to? Meimi wondered.
