“Hey, Kaku-kun? Do we have any pickles left in the cooler?” Lounging across the saddle of shimmering beast soaring through the sky a young woman asked her companion as she put a bottle to her lips.

“I asked you not to call me that, ma'am. And no, there are no more pickles. You ate the last of them yesterday.” And older looking man replied to the woman from his spot towards the front of the saddle.

“Aw, I really wanted a pickle right now… You wouldn't happen to want to stop on the way too the village, would you?” Rolling over onto her tummy the woman looked up to the elder with curious eyes.

“No ma'am. If we stop now we'll make it too the castle in the desert and that means no scripture.” The older man didn't even bother too look down at the woman as he gently pulled on the reigns in his hands.

“Why are you always so stuffy?” The woman asked frowning as she rolled back over and looked up at the sky. “I mean seriously, if you'd let go of the rules you'd have way more fun.”

“And I'd end up getting hunted by humans, your own kind, like you end up doing every where you go.”

“It's not my fault that they just can't handle flamboyant personality.” The woman said sitting up. Grinning over at the older man she reached over to a small carrier bag by her feet and slipped it over her shoulder. Tugging on the stiff collar of her jacket she let out a sigh.

“Flamboyant is an under statement.” The man grumbled. Turning to glance at the woman he quirked an eyebrow at the woman and asked, “What exactly are you doing?”

“Can't you feel it? A Flying Youkai is heading our way.” The woman slowly came to a stand as she grinned at the old man. “I suggest you take our ride back home. I can handle this from here.”

“Are you sure? I can help you fight.” The old man's eyes narrowed as he wheeled their transportation around.

“Positive. I need to stretch my limbs once in a while, and this whole trip will do my endurance good. Go on ahead and go home. Tell mum I'll be home in a few months. She shouldn't be too worried. After all, I'm her failure daughter.” The woman laughed lightly as she kicked off from the saddle on the flying beast. Falling past the head of the beast she tapped it beak and continued down towards the sand below. “Take care you two! And lil' bro, make sure you give peckers here a good ol' bath when you get home, K?”

“What!” The older man yelled in anger.

“You heard me! He's gonna be all sweaty after flying through this desert weather!” Waving as she fell she grinned and disappeared into the golden sands of the desert.

“God, I finally got rid of him. He's such an old fart now, I mean her did fall for the old “Here comes a demon!” ploy.” Shaking her head the woman turned west and set her course for the castle buried in sand.
