The next day Kaoru went to the parlor where she was to be received. She entered and felt two presences in the room. “Who's there?” Then two figures came, both with red hair. Were there two Battousais? Then she noticed that one had golden eyes and that mocking smile while the other one was smiling that said that of sincerity and violet eyes. Men like this often were dangerous because they were often stupid and did stupid things, which put others in danger, or they were good at hiding their emotions through a smile rather than a frown or grim line. Her back stiffened and she felt something sizzle in the air.
She breathed one word out of mouth, “Battousai, I believe I haven't met your twin yet.” The man with kind violet eyes came forward, “Miss Kaoru, I am glad to see you. My brother speaks highly of your skills, something he does not do often. I am Prince Kenshin and I believe you have met my younger brother, known sometimes as Battousai. But his real name is Prince Shinta.” Kaoru absorbed this information with a smile, hiding her shock. She would have never connected the two but facts were facts.
She smiled and replied as she cocked her head to the side, “I need not know these facts as I have a job to do and would rather stand guard then listen to these that will not come of use to me, your highness.” Kenshin smiled at her frankness. Battousai smirked at her. “If that is how you want it, then I believe I shall to you your duties. First, you will guard me during the day while my brother will do so at night. You are to keep women away, men and such unless I wish so. Do you understand your simple duty?” Kaoru looked at him and replied, “Yes. Shall I start today?” Kenshin smiled and nodded.
Kaoru watched him from afar and knew he felt her presence. He smiled at her a few times and her heart stopped a few beats. The man had gotten under her skin, why she wondered. What was so special about him? He was too gentle and somewhat feminine in her opinion but yet she was drawn to him. He wore pink for goodness sake! Then there was her brother, a man she didn't feel safe in but craved more of. They were complete opposites, one rough and hardened by life the other gentle and caring, showing happiness and lack of lack of anything. Two souls of opposites that she was attracted to. Battousai's eyes were mesmerizing, a fire burning within a deep layer and arrogance, a scarred soul that also scarred his face, a man if mystery and danger. Kenshin's eyes were innocent and showed all, a shyness with a touch of coldness and propriety added with calmness, a man without so much a scratch in his soul, a man too of mystery because he showed all, a man of security and gentleness.
She sighed. Then she felt a presence and saw Battousai staring at her. She stared back his gold ones. He seemed amuse. She raised a brow and smiled at him. But the smile did not reach her eyes. Battousai saw so. She hid her feelings well, even he could not decipher its cold language. And he somewhat felt rage when she stared at Kenshin.
He did not know it for a fact but in his theory, the young blue-eyed girl had a harsh life. One that had not scarred her pretty face but rather her heart. She had the eyes of lost love and torture, the eyes that held a hard glint that meant she faced hard times. Her eyes were narrow, but her face of angelic to men. It seemed that she was experienced but she still held an air of innocent around her. She was a contradiction.
He liked that about her. She was a new challenge he needed. He grinned when eh thought about all the things he could with her. She stared at him in curiosity. He wondered if she was a virgin. She didn't seem they type to go after men or give away her virginity.
The next day Kaoru watched Prince Kenshin through half lidded eyes. Women swarmed to him like nothing but she saw that his back stiffened and that he tried to be polite. He probably hates fussing women. Who would? She sighed. This was a boring job. The day was ending as the sun walked into the never-ending horizon as waves of light kissed her body.
Battousai stared at her. She was even more beautiful in the light but she was god awful pale. She also never smiled. But somehow she was getting into his skin. He wanted her ever more, the more he saw her, the harder his cock grew. He needed her badly as he went and walked to her room. He knocked and….
