"Sanosuke? Are you okay?"
"Yea, I guess."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive. You have nothing to worry about Kenshin."
"Okay, I'm going to go assist Miss Karou in the ktichen."
"Alright."
That was the last thing that Sanosuke Sagara said that night. He lied to Kenshin. Something was wrong. Even if Sano told Kenshin what was bothering him, Kenshin still wouldn't be able to help him. The problem Sano had was in himself. You see, when Sano was a kid in the Seki Hoti, he had his sister with him; she too was also part of the Seki Hoti. However, when the Seki Hoti dispanded, the two were separated. Sano spent many years searching for his sister, but never found her. Eventually he gave up. Sano still doesn't know if it was the right choice, but he didn't know where else to look for her.
(in the kitchen)
"Have you noticed something wrong with Sanosuke?"
"No."
"Miss Karou, he's been unusually quiet, that he's been."
"What's so bad about that?"
"It's not like him."
"Oh well."
Karou didn't really care that something was bothering Sano. She didn'tn really care if he was hurting. She didn't really care if he cried. She didn't rell care that much. It's not that Karou hated Sano it's just that she wanted him to pay her the money he owed her. Until then she really wouldn't care to much about him, and let's face it that could last a long time.
(the next night)
Dinner had passed. It was now late at night. Sano was lying on the grasss staring at the starts. He really did miss his sister.
"Sanosuke?" it was Kenshin.
"Oh Hey. What's up?" Sano sat up.
"I know you've been lying to me, that you have. Now please tell me, what's wrong?" said Kenshin.
"Well I guess you caught me red handed, Kenshin, I have-" Sano was cut off.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" screamed a voice deep in the woods.
