Kikumon growled at her older brother. " Fine, but let's make a few…arrangements…" She snapped her fingers, and everything started to become distorted to Baku, except Kikumon. He looked back to see Zero's image warp.

" Zero!!" He reached a hand out to the knight, but he quickly disappeared, and was replaced by a wall. " ZERO!" He turned angrily to the pink musha. " What the hell did you do to Zero?!" he demanded.

" I just sent him away to fight Kane…" Kikumon droned nonchalantly while twirling her yari. (It's baaaccck >.>)

" You want to try and send me to hell? Fine. But I've been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt…"

We're face to face

Zero stood up slowly, and looked around for Baku. " Bakunetsumaru?!" he called out. He then saw something move out of the corner of his eye. " Baku?" He peered into the shadows, and narrowed his eyes.

" Kane!"

Kane stepped forth from the shadows, his hand still dribbling with blood. " Yes.." Zero blinked. Kane's voice lost its magic and seemed dull and unfeeling.

" What's going on?" Zero asked. " Why did you tell Kikumon?!"

Kane charged at Zero with his sword, but Zero rolled out of the way. Kane's sword hit the stonewall with a loud clanking sound.

" Mana!" Zero held up his hand as a blue circle appeared above him, but it quickly disintegrated. " What?!"

" Mana won't work here…" Kane said. " Only brute force and vampire magic can…"

Zero stood up and glared at Kane. He held his arms in a boxing position and thought, ` Thank god I didn't pass up the boxing and karate lessons from Baku…' But he knew it wouldn't be enough, Kane had a sword, and he didn't.

Damnit.

Bakunetsumaru did a back flip out of the way as Kikumon swung her yari under him.

" What's the point of having immortality if you can't even beat your opponents?" Baku smirked. Kikumon yelled while trying to stab Baku, but he nimbly kept dodging the point. Baku then grabbed it in his hands, and looked up at her.

" I don't know if it's just me, or if you're getting more pathetic with every fight!" Baku then tugged on the yari, and started making it spin around with Kikumon hanging on. The red musha let go, and watched her collide with the ground some feet away.

Kikumon stood up quickly, and glared at Bakunetsumaru. " Why you…" She felt something strange in her leg, then gasped, " No! Not now…"

Baku raised an invisible eyebrow. " Something wrong there? Are you dying finally?" Kikumon glared up at Baku.

" I'm already dead, Baka!" Baku slid his feet apart, and made circles in the air.

" Kimbuu…" He then ran up a ways towards her, then slashed his swords together in an "X" shape. " Tengyo KEN!!"

Zero staggered back as Kane had his sword jabbed up the Winged Knight's thigh.

" K-Kane…" Zero winched, trying to get the sword out. " Snap…out of it!" Kane ignored Zero's pleas. He drew his sword out, then slashed it at Zero, but he jumped back.

" Kane!! It's me, Zero!!" Zero placed a hand on his thigh and groaned. ` You'd only think that being immortal meant you couldn't FEEL pain…' he complained to himself.

" Kane, please!"

" Kane is not here…." Zero blinked. " What?" Kane thrusted his sword at Zero, but he moved out of the way. But it did cut his left arm.

" What do you mean?!" It then came to Zero.

" She took your soul out…didn't she…?"

He recalled Kane telling him one time, not too long ago, about reviving the dead. They were not completely dead because they had their souls in their body. Zero knew in Lacroa, it was illegal to do any magic involving souls and reanimation. It was illegal, because some people went as far as using the dead as prostitutes if they were freshly dead, and make them suffer for crimes they have committed in life.

Also, the necromancers or whoever brought them back, had the power to take out the soul, and put it back into the body as often as they chosen to. Doing that kind of magic was difficult, and rarely could be done properly.

Zero snapped out of his thoughts as Kane rushed at him again, with his sword pointed for his chest. Zero didn't have enough time to react, and screamed as the blade went piercing through his armor.

" K…Kane…"

Baku could've sworn that Kikumon's moves were slowing down after every failed attack. There was something wrong with her, but he didn't care. He'd strike as soon as she was worn out, or stopped attacking for a brief moment.

Kikumon kept swinging her yari in vain as Baku blocked and dodged each attack. It was starting to happen again…but it was too soon! It would give her away if it happened now!

Kikumon jumped away from Baku, then tossed her yari at Baku, Baku hit it away with one of his swords, then looked at her.

" Really, I thought you were going to be more creative then THAT." Kikumon was about to say something, but doubled over suddenly.

" …Kikumon…?" Baku blinked in confusion as his dead sister started twitching on the ground.

" No…not…yet…!" Baku then noticed her right arm turned black for a moment. " The hell?!"

Kikumon's body started to shift shape, but to what, Baku couldn't tell. Kikumon glared up at Baku, with pale green eyes that gleamed like the stars on velvet. A black mist started to rise up from the cracks in the ground, and cover her slowly.

" What the hell is going on…?"

Zero closed his eyes tightly as Kane started to walk over to where he was thrown. " I won't let you win…" He clinched his fists, which started to glow blue eerily. Kane kept walking towards him. Zero stood up, then clapped his hands together. An electric blue streak darted towards Kane, and hit him square in the chest. Kane was pushed to the ground, his chest burnt and singed.

Zero looked at his hands in disbelief. " Did…I do that…?" Zero blinked up at Kane, who was slowly getting up. " Is this…my vampire power?"

Baku stared in horror at the creature that took Kikumon's place. It was a giant shadow with green eyes. " It's a…cruth!" That explained why she acted nothing like Denshimeru, because she wasn't. It was a shape shifter of the dead.

" Yes, so what are you going to do about it?" the snake like creature hissed. Baku gripped his swords tighter, knowing from the old tales that cruths can only take a form of another being if they …

…Killed them.

" You killed my sister!!" Baku shut his eyes tightly, feeling anger boil within him. " Yes," the shape shifter croaked, " And you will join her…"

I need the rush
There's nowhere you could hide before you die..

Zero crossed his arms over his chest as the blue electric aura flowed over his arms. " You can't take me down that easily if you have no soul!" He then shot his hands in front of him, sending a blue wave in the walking corps's direction. Kane fell onto the floor from the impact.

He slowly rose to his feet, his eyes flashing red. " I may not be Kane…but that doesn't mean I don't have a soul…" Kane then jumped into the air, and landed behind Zero. Zero turned to shoot at him again, but Kane slashed his sword down on Zero's back. Zero grunted in pain while kneeling to the ground. He shot his head up to look at Kane.

" So who are you?!" Zero demanded.

Kane laughed. " …Kibaomaru…" He then held his sword so it pointed down directly above Zero. " I have taken over the Energy Drain's body!!"

Why won't you face me?

Baku crashed onto the ceiling as the shadow tossed his back against it. The cruth brought Baku down, holding onto his leg, and slammed him against the stone floor.

I may not be your beloved sister…But my name is still Kikumon…" Baku's eyes widened. He knew the name sounded familiar when she declared herself half a year ago, but couldn't quite put his finger on it.

" Kikumon the corpse stealer!" Baku exclaimed while rolling onto his back. He then kicked his feet up, and stood up, holding his swords in his hands. " Why did you take my sister?! WHY?!"

" Because she could not see me…she was wounded, and I was hungry for blood…" Kikumon licked her sharp, white teeth with a shadowy purple tongue. Baku glared at Kikumon.

" You bitch…"

Zero rolled out of the way as Kibaomaru in Kane's body threw the sword point down. Zero glared up at him.

" Let my friend go NOW!!" Kibaomaru laughed. " You think you can order me around, worm?" Kibaomaru held his sword to the side as black flames licked the blade. " Now, it's time you pledge your loyalty to me, or perish."

" Gee, isn't that a tough choice?" Zero spat. " I'll take my chances in oblivion!" Kibaomaru shook his head.

" Very well. It's a pity though…I have had high hopes for you….you could have become the most feared knight of all…" Kibaomaru was suddenly behind Zero. " Like when you were the Blood Caviler…" Kibaomaru held his black fame sword to Zero's neck.

" …Oh, and don't worry," Kibaomaru smirked. " I'll make sure to tell Baku how you died with your sanctity before I turn him into one of my slaves…"

" YOU LEAVE BAKU ALONE!" Zero's eyes flashed red, and Kibaomaru's sword suddenly was vibrating.

" What the--?!" Kibaomaru then screamed as the sword shocked him. He loosened his grip, and the sword flew into Zero's hands.

" The hell…" Kibaomaru's eyes widened. " No! You have your full power!!"

Zero glared at him with blood red eyes. " You want the Zero the Blood Cavalier, well here I am!"

Baku coughed as he lied on the ground. He shook his head, trying to regain his vision.

" Don't worry, little samurai," Kikumon slid closer to him. " I'll make sure you see your sweet, innocent sister very soon…" she cackled while coiling around Baku. Baku tried to hack her away, but he was tightly bound before he could get a hit in. Kikumon tightened her grip, making Baku choke.

" I will enjoy squeezing you slowly until your final breath…"

Zero slashed at Kibaomaru, and the dark tyrant barely was able to dodge. Kibaomaru growled in his throat.

" What's the matter?" Zero said coldly. " Whore got your tongue?!" He concentrated his energy into the sword, making it glow blue.

Kibaomaru smirked. He then threw his arms to his sides. " Come on and just try to hit me, Zero the Blood Cavalier! Just try and add me to your list of dead!!"

" RAHH!" Zero threw the sword at Kibaomaru, making it pierce though his middle, and embed itself into the wall behind him.

Zero chuckled darkly, but then gasped.

The eyes of Kane's body changed back to their normal state. Kane collapsed onto the ground, not moving.

Zero's eyes turned back to their normal color as well, and were filled with panic. " KANE!!" He ran up to his friend, and picked him up. " Wake up! Kane!? Kane!!!"

Kane opened his eyes. " Z-Zero…"

" Oh mana, look at what I did to you." Kane winched while putting a hand to his blood stained middle. " It wasn't…your fault…" Kane said. " It was Kibaomaru's…"

" I…" Zero choked back a sob. " I hurt the only person I've ever called brother…" Kane closed his eyes, then tugged on one of the wings on Zero's head.

" OW!"

" Shut up and quit blaming yourself, you big baby," Kane huffed. " It was my fault for not making another chip for myself…" He opened his eyes slightly. " Where's Bakunetsumaru and Kikumon..?"

" I..I don't know…"

" Fine them, quickly." Zero blinked. " Kikumon isn't who you all thought she was….and she will kill Bakunetsumaru…"

" B-but what about you?"

" I'll be fine, so get before Bakunetsumaru's dead…." Kane winched. Zero looked around the room, but couldn't find any doors. " How do I get out?"

" Use your powers, stupid," Kane barked while sitting up. His minor injuries started to heal. Zero stood up, then held his hands out to the farthest wall. He concentrated his energy into his hands, then let a blue streak hit the wall. It collapsed, making a large hole.

" Hurry up," Kane ordered. " I'll catch up later." Zero nodded, then ran into the hole.

Baku's eyes swirled as his lungs couldn't take in any air. He was suffocating slowly, like Kikumon wanted. She laughed. " Now, I'm growing bored of this…" She tightened her shadow coils around Baku, making him make a chocking noise. She laughed.

" KIKUMON!!" She turned her shadow snake like head towards the entrance, where Zero stood. " Let him go right now, or I'll fucking slice you to tiny bits!"

" Ooo, I'm so scared," she sarcastically remarked. She tossed Baku like a rag doll towards Zero. Zero dropped his sword and caught Baku.

" Bakunetsumaru!?" Zero shook his shoulders. " Come on, love…" Zero then saw that the gem on Baku's chest was cracked and crushed, and Baku wasn't breathing. " BAKU!!"

" I crushed his lungs…" Kikumon said, making Zero's head shoot up. She cackled. " I killed your precious musha…. suffocation is somewhat long, but it's effective…"

Zero looked down at Baku's still form in horror. " N-no…he…he can't be dead…" Tears swelled in his eyes at the thought.

" I don't want to lose you again! I don't care about anything else, as long as I have you again!"

" Yeah, well, you're letting them get away!!"

Zero cried while clutching to Baku's body tightly. Zero nuzzled Baku's neck while whispering, " Wake up firefly. Please…wake up…"
