Running Into Lampposts is Hazardous To Your Health
`How could I have been so stupid! What kind of idiot runs away without any form of protection what so ever! Apparently I did. Stupid, stupid, stupid!' I couldn't believe I had forgotten everything! I was in so much trouble. I had to get out of here and find Yoh before someone attacked me!

Kanna stood up and started walking towards the door, leaving the mocha latté behind. “Let's go girls.”

“Miss!” Kanna hadn't paid for her drink, and the waitress noticed. “You owe three Patchdollars for your drink!”

Kanna turned on the poor woman and glared, “I'm not paying for that! It tasted like cheap crap!”

The waitress was scared stiff, but she wouldn't let that get in the way of doing her job, “Miss, I'm sorry, but I can't let you leave without paying for your purchase!”

Kanna pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and stuck in her mouth. Macchi jumped in to answer for Kanna, “Looky here, you. We work for Master Hao, and we'll do what we want, when we want. Got it?”

“Yes Miss.” The poor waitress whispered, and the Hanagumi left.

I watched out the window to see what direction they were going, and when I could no longer discern their figures in the distance, I rose to my feet.

The waitress ran up to me before I got to the door and insisted, “Now Miss, please, you must pay! If you don't it will be taken out of my pay check!”

I cocked my head to the side like a curious puppy as I asked, “How much do I owe you?”

The waitress, Debbie as her name tag read, paused for a moment to stare blankly at my odd facial expression. “Two Patchdollars.”

I handed her ten. “For that blue haired girl's, mine, and a tip.” I turned and left, heading in the opposite direction of the Hanagumi.

I stopped in several shops on the way to the inn, but to my utter dismay NONE of them had any sort of weapon what so ever! I found myself thinking `How can they do this to me!? I need a weapon!! What kind of shaman shop doesn't supply weapons!?'

During my momentary rant I had forgotten to pay attention to where I was walking, so I was more than slightly surprised when I ran face first into some metal thingy. Apparently it's unhealthy for you to ram your head into metal things. It could even knock people unconscious, because that's what happened to me. Out like a rock. Oh, don't worry; I eventually woke up later.

I stirred slightly as I felt a hand gently caressing my cheek. The hand paused for a minute, but when I settled continued to stroke my cheek. I willed my eyes to open so I could see whoever it was who was touching me without permission. My hand flew up to my face and trapped the intruding hand. My eyes fluttered open and two perfect emerald pools met my gaze.

“Uh…hello.” And they talked! `Cute voice.'

“Can I help you?” I asked in my typical innocent fashion.

“No, actually we were the ones who helped you. You walked right into our leader. You were out for three days.” Right about here I noticed that the two eyes and voice had a body. Not a very big body (he was about my size) and hair. Green hair. Strange. Not many people had green hair. Well my—no. There I go again, she's not my sister. She's Judo's sister. —Judo's sister Jun Tao, she had green hair, but that was all the people like that that I knew. I also noticed that the boy standing before me had on a white jacket and just barely hidden by the jacket were his shorts! Short shorts!! HAHAHAHA!!

Then his words really sunk in, “`We' who's `we'? And what's this about your leader? I could have sworn that I walked into a lamppost or something.”

“No. That was no lamppost. That was Holy Girl Iron Maiden Jeanne, our leader, and I am Lyserg. We are the X-LAWS!” I could have fainted right there. In retrospect, I should have. It would have been a lot easier if I had.
