Revealing Revelations Part 1
Marco immediately stormed over to us and slammed me against the wall, holding me up by my throat. “You get off of him you evil whore!”

Lyserg obviously took offense to this horribly mean comment, as he dashed over to Marco and tried to pry his hands from my throat. “Marco stop! How can you say such horrible things about her; she's just a normal girl!”

“She sleeps with the devil, Lyserg, and with that kiss she's tainted you as well! She must be destroyed! It is God's will!” If I could have, I would have shouted `It's not TRUE!!!!!!! I should kick you, you, you…Ahhhhhh! I don't know enough bad words to describe you! I would never sleep with that demon fiancée of mine!'

“Wait…Hao is her fiancée!?” `No Lyserg, don't listen to him!'

“Yes. He's anxiously looking for her even now. It seems to me that they're very much in love.” `Liar, liar, liar, LIAR!' I wanted to scream. “That kiss you and she shared was a sham. She was only trying to turn you against us, to make you lose your way on the path of righteousness.” `Well, it wasn't a real kiss, but I didn't mean to make him “lose his way on the path of righteousness.”'

“Marco, put her down. We need to interrogate her before she can receive her judgment.” A soft but commanding voice wafted into the room, and there at the door stood Jeanne-in-a-can.

Marco instantaneously dropped me and bowed deeply to the tin-bucket. “I am sorry My Lady. I shouldn't have acted without first consulting you, but she was corrupting Lyserg.” I would have yelled `I was NOT!!' at the top of my lungs, but I was preoccupied with a little activity called breathing. Apparently Marco didn't seem to realize that this activity was necessary for me to live.

“I-it's n-n (cough) not true. H-he's (gasp) lying!” I finally managed to choke out between coughs and gasps.

Jeanne's Iron Maiden opened to reveal a girl a little younger than myself topless and dripping in blood. (AN: That's how she was in the manga.) She shook her head sadly as she walked forward. When she got over to where I lay she sat down beside me. “Please, tell me who you are and where you come from. Tell me all about you.”

She didn't seem mean. `Maybe she can help me.' So I got up to pace while I told them my story. “Well, I was abandoned outside the Tao's palace when I was born because my family was afraid of my shaman powers. So I grew up as a Tao: Judo Tao. Judo was always being shipped around to a lot of fancy American boarding schools because of the “accidents” she caused. She loved being an American more than anything else, so she refused to go “home” to China despite all the “accidents”. I could never really control my powers, so lots of innocent people got hurt. One day Tao En, my “father”, said that Judo was attracting too much unwanted attention and that they needed to get her powers under control.

“She was sent to Izumo, Japan to live and train with the Asakuras. She loved it there. The temple soon became the home she had never had. First I was sent to Kino to learn to be and Itako. I think they thought that if I mastered one shaman skill I would have more of a handle on my powers. Not only did it not work, but also Judo got even stronger; and my powers were even more out of control than before. When Kino could do no more, Judo went to study with Keiko to be a Miko, shrine priestess. That didn't work either, and my problems worsened. Yohmei then took me up as his protégé and taught me divining. As I learned and mastered each new skill my power levels increased and became gradually harder to contain. Judo was on the brink of despair when Mikihisa taught her to fight, how to do spirit possessions, and eventually use an oversoul.

“One night everything came crashing down on Judo. I was having such a weird dream that night. I dreamt that the temple was on fire and lightening was raining down upon us. A monster was destroying my home! Then my four teachers came and bound the monster down with chains upon a spare bed. The dream ended and when I woke up I went out of my mind with fear when I found that on my arms and legs were chains. Chains of unbreakable steel held me fast to the bed. I cried for hours. To my surprise they came and comforted me. They forgave me and even went so far as to say it wasn't my fault! They blamed themselves for not being able to help bind my powers before it was too late.

“They said there was only so much more that they could do. Judo was sent to the devil's cave, The Tunnel of Tartarus. I made it out in four days instead of the usual seven with no improvement of my control of my power. If anything, it just got worse with more power to try to keep under wraps.

“The Asakuras had one last trick to try to help me: The Tome of The Shaman. I got the fright of my life when I opened that book. When I broke the seal, two creatures came out of the book and attacked me. I had no idea what they were, and the aura they had around them scared me a little. I just stood there for a moment not sure what to do. I looked back at Master Yohmei for instructions.

“He seemed a little scared as well, “Well don't just stand there! Do something before they bite your head off!”

“Oh…well you could have said so before hand!” I yelled back. Yohmei and I had that kind of relationship: I yell at you, you yell at me, we get into a fistfight; we laugh it off when I pummel you. Anyway, I bound the two creatures, which I later learned were shikigami, and sealed them into two talismans.”

Jeanne cut me off in mid explanation to ask, “Where did you get the talismans? Do you just randomly carry blank talismans around with you?”

`What a stupid reason to cut me off. I had a good ramble going there, and she ruined it to ask about the contents of my pockets!' I wanted to slap her for her stupidity, but I thought that would be impolite, so I just answered her question. “No, my sister is a Dao-shi, and she taught me the basics, so I carry around blank talismans to command my Jiang-si.

“Anyway, I studied the Tome and learned of Hao. Surprisingly, the Tome gave me immense new power, but it was the type I could control. My training with the Asakuras complete, I returned to China. Sadly my family was having problems. Ren and Jun had rebelled against our father's wishes, and they were now imprisoned in the dungeon of our home. A group of shamans came and rescued them, and Ren left. My father, or at least what I presumed was my father, (he looked so different without his huge oversoul on.) met me at the door and came clean about my past.

“Judo,” he said, “I'm so sorry for deceiving you all these years, but you are not truly my child. I know this may come as somewhat of a shock, but do not talk, listen for now, Okay? We found you on our doorstep when you were only a few weeks old. There was a note there with you. It said:

`Dear Tao Family, this child is called Ivy Kyôyama. She was born on March tenth along with her twin sister Annabelle. This child is a demon in human form. She has magic powers which we do not understand or, for that matter, wish to understand. We cannot have a child like this running around free to do others harm; she's already killed the maid and two others who tried to touch her. Electrocuted to death…poor dears. Anyway, we did some asking around as to somewhere we could take her, and we found out about you…“people”. Take her or not; she's your problem now. -The Kyôyamas'

“So we took you in and called you “Judo”. I'm so sorry that you had to find out about this now. We should have told you.”

“I lowered my head to answer, “Does everyone else know about this but me?”

“No. Your mother, grandfather, and I are the only ones who know.”

“Then I'm off. I'm going to find my birth parents and sister. After that, I'm going to win the tournament. Goodbye, and thank you for not leaving me to die. Tell Mom and Gramps I love them. I'll see you around Dad.”
