The Love Of My Life…And His Brother
The next morning I awoke in the love of my life (or so my amnesia lead me to believe's) arms.

“So I see you're awake.” He whispered in my ear.

“Yeah. I don't want to get up though.” I snuggled closer up against him. “I'd rather sleep in your arms for awhile more.”

“How long is `awhile'?” Hao asked pulling me closer still.

“Forever.” I sighed.

“I'd love to hold you forever…” he glanced down at me and noticed that I was falling back asleep. “I love you.”

“I love you too…” I barely managed to mutter before I drifted off to sleep. “Yoh…”

Hao sat up quickly letting go of me, causing me to wake abruptly. “What?!”

I too sat up looking totally clueless. It was then I realized that Hao's face was as white and pale as a dead man's, and that he had broken out in a cold sweat. “Hao, what's wrong?”

“What did you say?!” He took me by the shoulders and begged me to repeat my last sentence.

“What? `I love you'?” I blinked stupidly at my frightened fiancée.

“After that.” He looked as if he was about to break down in tears.

I smiled sweetly at him and brushed some of his stray hairs out of his face. “Shhh…I didn't say anything after that. I swear.” I kissed him softly on the cheek and lay back down.

This seemed to comfort him some, and he began to settle back down beside me again. “Are you sure?” He whimpered.

“I'm sure.” I insisted. “Hao, are you okay? You're not sick are you?” I felt of his forehead to see if he had a fever. “You're acting really strangely all of the sudden.”

“I'm fine now.” He smiled at me, gently pulling me back into his arms.

“I don't think so. You wouldn't be acting like that if something wasn't wrong.” I furrowed my brow and studied his face intently.

“Don't ever leave me Ivy. I'd die without you.” He tightened his grip around my waist.

“I won't.” I assured him. “But I think I should get Luca and Opacho to look you over. You're acting weirder than usual.” I got up and slipped on my boots as I walked outside the tent.

I was too far out the door, so I didn't hear Hao mutter, “Something is wrong. You're starting to remember that brother of mine. I just don't want to lose you…”

Several minutes later Luca and Opacho came, and Luca looked Hao over. “The problem is, Ivy: your health is starting to affect his.”

“What?” Hao and I said in unison.

Opacho took the moment of shock to jump into my arms and give us his explanation, “In other words, Mistress Ivy has been so sick that Master Hao has worried himself sick over her. How sweet that Hao loves Ivy so much, doesn't Ivy think so?”

Opacho didn't wait for my answer, but instead jerked Luca out of the tent, leaving Hao and me alone yet again. “Yes, I do think so.” I answered as I sauntered over to sit beside Hao on the bed. “I just don't know why he would bother worrying over someone as insignificant as me.”

Hao pulled me on top of him and kissed me. “Because I love you.”

“Want to go for a walk?” I asked.

“With you, or by myself?” Hao teased.

“With me.” I rolled off of him to my feet and dragged him out of the tent in a similar fashion to how Opacho drags Luca around.

We walked and talked for hours on end. He with his arm secured possessively around my waist, and I with my head rested on his shoulder. We talked about anything and everything including many interesting topics.

“Hao?”

“Hmm?”

“What's it like to die?” I asked whatever questions popped into my mind.

“It's not so bad. Not like everyone makes it out to be.” He shrugged it off as if I had asked if he thought it was going to rain or not. “Sure it hurts, but that's kind of obvious. That pain isn't what makes it unbearable. The real pain comes when you're being put to death by your family and friends. That's when it really hurts.”

“Hao…” I murmured as I snuggled closer up against him. “Were you afraid?” An icy chill ran up my spine.

“The first time. I was afraid then, but the second time I sort of figured they would murder me again, so there was no point in being afraid of the inevitable. I wonder which one of my friends or relatives is gonna do me in this time? Maybe even you, my darling.” Hao's sadistic voice stung my ears.

“Don't say that.” I begged, near tears.

He held me away from him for a moment to get a good look at me. “You really are something Ivy, to feel sympathy toward such a horrible person as me.”

My ebony eyes were a full-blown tempest by now. I threw myself into his arms and held him. “Everyone needs someone to love them!”

“God, Ivy you're amazing. I really don't deserve you at all, but will you be mine anyway?” The next thing he did shocked me into speechlessness; he got down on one knee. And pulled a ring case out of his back pocket.

“Oh. My. GOD.” I muttered my familiar catch phrase.

“Ivy will you marry me?”

“I…you…but…yes.” And then I fainted.

=In A Vision=

My world faded and another world started to form around me. It was a world covered in white, completely blank. No one with in the vast confines of my new environment. Or so I thought at first, but I was soon proven wrong.

“Have you totally forgotten me then?”

I turned around and there standing before me was a boy. A cute boy right around my age; he wore a loose fitting white shirt that was unbuttoned so I could see his thin, but muscular physique, pants that looked like jeans, only green, a bear claw necklace, sandals, and orange headphones. He had shoulder-length mahogany brown hair, and dark brown eyes to rival my own. He looked like Hao.

“What do you mean?” I asked, not entirely sure of who he was.

“You said you would marry Hao. If that's not totally forgetting me, I don't know what is. Oh why do you torture me like this Ivy?” the boy moaned.

My heart melted when he said my name. It sounded so beautiful, so delicate.

“I love you Ivy.” The boy stepped forward, took me in his arms, dipped me like the tango move, and kissed me passionately.

When he pulled away, I was completely awe-struck. “Oh. My. GOD. Yoh!! How could I forget you!?”

“Hao exactly.” Yoh spat bitterly. “Come back to me Ivy. I miss you so much.” Yoh begged. “I love you; he can't have you. He can't take you away from me. He can't!”

He started to fade to white like the rest of the world, and I tried to hold him, but it was of no use. He was of as thin a substance as the air. He left me with but a faint whisper, “Come back to me Ivy…I won't let Hao have you…”

I woke with a start, and for a minute didn't realize where I was.

“Oh, good you're awake! Don't scare me like that; you faint too much for your own good.” I looked for the source of the voice, and found him sitting right next to me. It was Yoh!

`No. Not Yoh.' My mind reminded me. `It's that idiot pervert Hao. The one who took you away from Yoh, remember?'

“Are you okay, my love?” He asked genuinely worried. “I didn't mean to spring this on you, but I just thought—“

“—It's okay.” I cut him off dryly. I realized how upset and angry I sounded and adjusted my voice to sound tired. “I'm really happy you did. I just, I need to go do some stuff, so I'll be seeing you later.” I quickly excused myself, and headed for the tent door.

Hao stood up and kissed me on the cheek. “All right, I'll see you later Ivy my darling.”

I smiled sweetly as I left, counterfeiting happiness, but all the while as I walked away, a plan was running through my head. `Oh you'll see me later, but after that, never again. I'll get away. Poison Ivy has a plan.'
