Shaman King Fan Fiction ❯ Love Me Once ❯ Chapter 3. ( Chapter 3 )
Chapter: 3
Standards disclaimers will always apply. Duh.
(( A/N: I'm changing it up, for just a bit. Maybe for this one chapter only. I wanted to try out First Person. It'll be Anna first, then Yoh. I usually don't like 1st person, but hey. - Shrug -. ))
Anna.
That's who I am. I had finally convinced Yoh, with his sudden acts of fiance rights, to let me go. I don't know why I did. I should've been glad that he didn't want me to go. But, I wasn't. Why?
I was confused.
I kept walking though. Walking down a dark road in the middle of the night. If it were someone else, I'd think "Idiot." But, of course. It's me. I'm not afraid. What have you known me to be afraid of? Not much, I'll tell you. I could kick weirdo's asses blind. I smirked to myself, with my hands deep in the pockets of my white jacket. I was nervous, but if you had seen me now, you wouldn't be able to tell. Well, you'd probably think I was lost. I didn't know where I was going. Whom I was going to. What I wanted to do. All I knew is that I had to keep walking. So, I did. Farther and farther out. Until the lights of the city glared in my face, the sounds of skitter skattering people running amok and about pounding in my ears, and the sight of loving couples making out furiously in places where they thought they couldn't be seen.
I wanted that.
Me and Yoh.
**
I knew he was waiting. Waiting to be talked to, told to do something. To even hear me say, "Go away." But, nah. I didn't. Even though I was ignoring Amidamaru , I was lonely and I liked his presence behind me. But, still.. I didn't say a word. I just kept staring out the window.
Karsha.
I'm obsessed with his name now. It's sickening. All I know about him is that he's with my Anna. My Anna.
My Anna.
I was watching through the window as if I could still see my Anna. But, no. She was long gone. Until morning. What was she going to do all night? Other than the movies. Movies don't take that long. Where will she sleep? Where will my Anna sleep? In Karsha's bed? In a hotel.. with this Karsha?!
No.
I frowned, and a huff of anger had apparently escaped me because suddenly Amidamaru was by my side. But, he didn't say a word for a while. Not a word.
I was angry.
"Amidamaru," I spoke sharply.
"Yoh."
"Amidamaru," I said again. "I'm going out."
"Would you like me to accompany you?"
"This won't.. I won't need you to be there for this." I looked out of the corner of my eye and saw him nod. I think he understood. I think he understood that I needed Anna. She couldn't be going out getting dates and hanging out `til morn with some dude that I don't know. No, she couldn't. She may be a little scary..
But, I still need her. It scares me more to think about being here without her. I need her.
I grabbed my shoes and my thin coat. Before I could even head out the door, I heard Manta's small voice say, "Be safe."
I had forgotten he was here.
I turned around and nodded to him, smiling because he was such a good friend. I realized that I needed him.. but I needed Anna too. More than him. More than a good friend.
I left out the door and started down the dark street. "Anna."
**
I was grinning. I didn't even think about Yoh. Except for a couple of times. Or a little bit more. But, still I was having the time of my life. My body felt light and free, free of pain, anger, and stress. Free of everything. Free of my need to be the Shaman Queen. But, I knew this would only last one night. One night, and I would be back staring at Yoh. Wondering and wishing. With a beating heart slowly breaking.
But, only one night could I be free. And, I would. Yes. I definitely would.
I walked into this small restaurant with music so loud you could hear it miles away. Teens were streaming in and out, hugging each other, or crying with their head's pressed against the red brick wall. I was curious, so I went in.
Amazing.
Bodies were bumping against each other to the beat of a loud techno band. Teens with solemn expression were sitting on little bar stools drinking kiddie cocktails as if they were trying to drown their sorrows with the mix of 7-Up and cherry sauce. I couldn't smile or laugh or frown. I could imagine them as lonely drunks in their futures, but I wanted to be on those stools with them. I kept looking back at the dance floor. I wanted to dance with my date on that floor. Together, shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip. Cheek to cheek. You know what I mean. But, suddenly I jumped at the feel of a small touch on my shoulder. I spun around and my eyes widened. I'm sure I looked like a deer in headlights. But, you wouldn't believe who it was.
Karsha.
"K-Karsha?"
He grinned at me and took my hand. He opened his mouth and started talking but I couldn't hear a word he said. Suddenly, he stopped, still grinning. I knew he was waiting for my reply so I just shook my head as if I didn't understand. I didn't understand. Not Yoh, anyway.
He pulled my hand and led me out the door.
"Anna!" He exclaimed. "I didn't expect someone like you to be here! This is.. like.. really great! So, you live around here?"
"No, not really. Not close," I replied.
"Oh, okay," he spoke and his eyes glittered. "Wow, Anna. Partying. No, wait. Partying? You looked like you were just standing around."
"I wanted to dance," My lip started to quiver. I was getting annoyed. Non-stop talker, aren't ya?
"So, why weren't you? Can you? Dance, I mean. I mean, I could teach you. Yeah. Yeah, I could teach you. Let's dance, `kay? Dance?"
"Yeah, let's dance."
He took me by my hand again and led me into the restaurant. Time to dance the night way. My only night.
**
I was running, and sweat was dripping.. falling like tears. Anna would've been proud if she could see me running. For her. Running like I was Road Runner, that bird thing from the Looney Tunes. I grinned. Anna will be proud.
I had already entered the city and went into the movies. They were closed. Imagine that. Poor Anna. I'll have to take her next time. The next time she hinted that she might go with me to. I wondered where she was. Maybe she was scared? Nah. Not my Anna. I ran around the city until I stopped at popular Teen HotSpot.
I've heard of this place in my classes. Supposed to be fun. I was about to turn away when I saw my silky golden queen disappear in the door.
"Anna?" I asked myself. I knew it was her. Her shoulder's were covered with white. My Anna. Maybe she was there with Karsha. Karsha was going to know who Anna belonged to. Her fiance. Me. I stepped up to the door coolly and just walked in. No one was guarding the door.
The place was a jamble of teenage bodies bouncing and dipping and desperately trying to impress others with crazy routines and starts of body trains. I saw her slowly among bodies and pressed close to a boy with short dark hair. An angry vibe went through me and I crisscrossed through the crowds to get to my beloved.
My beloved.
Not HIS! When I got close to her, my hand yanked on her arms and pulled her away from the boy. I heard him shout and I felt her hand whack me in the face.
"Anna," I said.
**
I stared at the face I just hit. His eyes were so wild, so passionate. I heard him call my name and I reached for him.
"Yoh? Yoh.. Yoh!" I cried. He followed me. What for? Did he think I was going to betray the trust in our family?
He said my name again and pulled the arm he still held onto with him through the rowdy teenagers. Soon as we were out, he pulled me against his body and nuzzled his face into the crook of my shoulder and neck.
"Yoh?" I asked again. Hope was threatening to rise and I knew that if his touch meant too much to me that I would be devastated beyond belief.
"Anna, Anna." He spoke. "Anna's mine."
I stared at him. He wasn't making much sense. He was looking at me now. With questions in his eyes that I couldn't answer. I didn't know what they were. He continued to look at me, arms slowly slumping and eyes saddening.
"Yoh, why did you follow me?" I needed to know. I wanted the answer that I longed to hear.
"Don't you know that I need you, Anna?" That was not it.
"Yoh.." I uttered slowly. I kept moving my head so that I looked anywhere but at his face.
"Don't you know that I want you, Anna?" My head snapped up to meet his.
I couldn't say a word.
"Anna. You can't leave me.."
Suddenly an arm snaked around my waist and pulled me out of Yoh's warm arms.
"What do you want with Anna?" It asked concerned.
Karsha.
(( WELL. It's up to you to decide whether that was crazy or crazy stupid. I'm not a dramatic person.. so don't hate me. Lmao. I know it's a cliffy. Or whatever.
