Chap 1: Last day before semester break.

"Wow? Everyone is early for practice today. Pretty unusual?" Asked Ayako who just arrived at the basketball court.

"Hey, it's the last day of the semester. Our next practice will only be in like… a month time?"

Before Miyagi could say anything more to Ayako, Akagi appeared at the door.

"Captain!" Everyone greeted him.

"Is everyone here?"

"Uh… Sakuragi and Rukawa hadn't reached yet." Answered Kogure.

"No question for Sakuragi but… Rukawa? Is late?"

"He should be arriving soon. Maybe he overslept. Haha…"

"Well, let's start witho-…" (Akagi was cut off when…)

"O-re-wa-ten-sa-i~~~"

BONG!

"ITE! GORI! TEME!"

"Sakuragi, cool down." Having tamed by Kogure, Sakuragi said nothing more.

- Sakuragi… he changed a little today. Perhaps because it's the last day before semester break. One month… it's quite long… we would all have been quite rusted by then. - Mitsui wondered.

"One last person... why is Rukawa so late today?" Miyagi asked facing Aya-chan.

Meanwhile...

Rukawa walked in. As usual, in silence.

"Hey Rukawa. Anything wrong?" Asked Kogure.

"Iya, betsuni."

But Kogure sense something different in him. Yes, he is quiet as always but... weird.

"Alright! Let's start the practice! Gather!" Akagi commanded.

When everyone is ready, "SHOHOKU~! FIGHT~O!!"

** After practice **

It's the starting of the semester break. The next game for them should be around 3 months time or so. Holiday is often what students hope for. It's the time that they do not have to worry about their studies much. They could go out everyday and have fun, on a trip with family, visit relatives, and so forth.

Everyone else has left the court. Sakuragi was dismissed from basic trainings. Miyagi asked Aya-chan out for a movie. Akagi needs to get home for some family planning during the holiday. Mitsui left to meet his friends. The juniors are happily going home for dinner. Rukawa... unknown. As for Kogure, he stayed back to clean the court.

He was mopping the floor at the side wall when, he found a cell phone.

"Who could this belong to? Hey... I thought no bringing cell phones to school." Kogure wondered.

"It's mine."

"Huh?" Kogure, being suprised by the sudden out-voice, turned to look at the main door of the court.

"Rukawa?"

"I left it. I came back to look for it." Walking towards Kogure.

"Oh, here." Kogure hand the cell phone to him.

"Thanx." He turned and was about to leave when...

"Matte!"

"What do you want?" Rukawa stopped and asked without turning around.

"What's your number?"

"... So what if you know my number."

"Well, there's no harm for a friend to know your number. I'll call you during the holiday. We could meet up with Akagi and the rest for a coffee or something."

"..."

"Well?"

With a smile, "Thanx, see you some other time!"

Without a reply, Rukawa left the court and walk home.

- Why is he always lonely? Other than basketball, does anything else mean anything in his life? Lifeless... desu ne... -

This is the very first fic I'm writing here. I know it's a boring one but I'll improve for the following chapters. Who is the main character here? Hmm... Read and you'll see ^^

Both terms are different. But somehow is hard to define... everyone has their own...
