Chapter 6: Friends... are essential

It's Sunday, Rukawa woke up at 9 a.m.

'How come I couldn't sleep any longer?'

He got up and dressed himself. His parents still haven't call.

'It's been a week now. How are they?'

He went and sat at his study table,

'I have homework for the holiday... haven't started any...'

After thinking for a while, he start lifting up the pen and start with maths homework. Unusual for a person like Rukawa. But it's all because of one reason.

'I wanted to try something different.'

After around 2 hours of homework, he stopped to take breakfast. And also watch his favourite NBA games.

Beep-Beep-beep!

'Message?'

Again it's another unfamiliar number. And the message goes like this,

Rukawa? This is Mitsui. Free tomorrow? We're all going out again! Yup, the same gang. We're not confirmed with the destination yet but I'll confirm with you tonight! So, make sure you're free tomorrow! We've booked ya! Ja ne!

'Great... Really, great...' And he smiled to himself.

He went up to his bedroom. He changed to go for a basketball practice. He needs to practice everyday. It would be uncomfortable not doing so.

He came back after 3 hours. It's already 4pm. He took a meal and was planning to get onto his homework again. When he sat down at the study table, he saw his notebook.

After staring for a while, he decided.

'My diary, starts today.'

Sunday, _/_/____

Weather: Fine.

Dear diary,

Things could change so much. Though I am still who I am, but something have lightened up my life. They are... my friends. I thought I would be alright alone. But I was wrong. But it's not too late. It's never too late.

At first, I knew that something was missing in my life. Now I know it's called -friendship- As for love relationships, I guess I'll leave that for the latter. I need to learn how to be open. Don't worry, you'll always be updated with the news about me.

From today onwards, this is my first diary... ^^ (smiled)

Beep! Beep!

"Moshi moshi?"

"Hello Rukawa. How are you, my son?"

"Mom!"

"Sorry coz' I haven't been calling you. So how are you at home?"

"Fine... everything's fine..."

"I and dad will be back around next week. Don't worry, you won't be alone anymore."

"Great... Anyway, I wasn't."

"Hmm? Say that again. The line's not clear."

"I said, I'm not alone. I have my friends."

"Wow, Rukawa, you've changed. That's great. Oh, see you next week then. I've got work to do now. Bye bye!"

After a few minutes,

Beep! Beep!

'Hmm? Oh, it's Mitsui.'

"Moshi Moshi?"

"Rukawa! It's me Mitsui!"

"Yeah, I know."

"Alright, tomorrow, we'll be going to the Amusement park. Haha! I know it's funny coz' among all the places, AMUSEMENT PARK! Suggested by the girls."

"It's ok. I'll be there."

"Geez Rukawa, glad you will. We'll meeting at the main entrance at 11am. Only then it will be open."

"Wakatta."

"Hey, you free now?"

"Doshta?"

"I'm Kind of bored here... it's only 6 now so... care for a chat through the phone?"

"..."

"It's okay if you're busy with some other things."

"Sure, what do you want to talk about?"
