More Than Rivals

WARNING!Don't read if you're a big Amelia fan and get very angry by every little insult or if you are a big Amelia+Zel fan.Don't get me wrong, but I don't hate Amelia that much.

Chapter 1

Yugi's POV

My famlily had just made a big move to another city, where my big brother lives . He's 17 years old and is finishing high school. He moved to a new high school and new city, along with his band to this city and have grown popular over the few months .

I hope I get to see him again . He's the best! I've always looked up to him and he's always been there for me.

"Yugi! Yami has come to visit us!" My father called from downstairs .

"YAY!" I shouted and ran quickly downstairs to find my brother in the doorway . I jumped at him and gave him a extra big hug.

"Calm down Yugi. I haven't been gone that long." Yami said and chuckled and I smiled up at him.

"It feels like countless years and years." I said and backed up to see if he has changed. nope! At least not much .

"Sometimes its hard to tell if you're really 14." Yami said and put a hand on top of my had and ruffled my hair," You still act like a child sometimes."

Normal POV

Yugi and his family, including Yami, were eating dinner that night .

"So you'll be hanging around here more often right?" Yugi asked eagerly, hoping the answer would be 'yes'.

"Of course! I would like to hear what happened to you during the past few months. Besides, you're my little brother ." Yami reassured .

"I heard that there's another band around here called 'Breeze'. Do you know anything about them?" Yugi asked .

"They're my band's rivals. We have equal popularity and fans ." Yami said and it seemed he got much colder when even talking about the other band .

"What's your band's name? I think you never told us."Their father said .

"It's 'Shuffle'." Yami replied with pride in his voice .

"Interesting name." Yugi remarked.

Lina Inverse was reading a book, leaning against her bed while Gourry was in the kitchen having a snack . Zelgadis was sitting in a chair also reading a book .

Zel noticed that Lina was frowning and looked a pissed off.

"What happened this time?" He asked . Her frown deepened .

"That Yami, we had another fight and he called me stubborn and other bad names. You know I could've have fireballed him right at that spot, but I couldn't because I didn't want to reveal myself in public." Lina explained .

"You to argued over something again." Zel said in a bored manner," This has been happening ever since you two met. Maybe you should stop being such fierce rivals once in a while."

"How can I? If he is always getting on my nerves with that cool and confident manner. He has enough confidence to fill five stadiums." Lina faught back .

"Don't start an arguement with me. I'm not Yami." Zel said and Lina's frown disappeared .

"Sorry." She mumbled and went back to reading her book .

"You two are still studying?" Gourry asked as he entered the room . He took a seat on the floor acroos from Lina and Zel .

"Yes, and it wouldn't hurt if you studied once in a while." Lina glared at him," Your grades are as low as they can get."

"My grades are that low?" Gourry asked and Lina sighed .

"Couldn't have met someone more lost then him."Zel said sympathatically.

"Hear hear." Lina said and Zel nodded in agreement .

"Wha?" Gourry said and there was a knock on the door .

"I'll go get that." Gourry said and raced of.

"I bet twenty bucks that's your its your biggest fan Amelia." Lina said .

"Will she ever bug of and leave me alone." Zel moaned ," Quick hide me! I can't stand it when she glomps me, she can cut off my blood circulation."

"If it is Amelia you owe me twenty bucks . It will also cost you to get me to hide you somewhere." Lina said greedily .

"Fine." Grumbled Zel and Lina pushed the surprised Zel under her bed .

"And be quiet! If you make any noise and she gets suspiscious then I'll have to make some embarassing explanation and I will make you pay." Lina hissed at him and she heard Zel's muffled 'fine'.

"HI!" Lina turned around to see Amelia in the doorway with a huge grin on her face," Is Zel-kun here?"

Lina could hear muffled complains from Zel about being called 'Zel-kun', but she shoved a box of old magic books under her bed using her foot to shut him up before Amelia heard him .

"No! He isn't here. He just left a few seconds ago. I'm just cleaning my room." Lina said hastily. Amelia looked around Lina's room to find it completely spotless. Lina saw where Amelia was looking and laughed nervously,"I just finished."

"Oh..."Amelia had a disapointed look on her face and sighed . Lina felt sad for Amelia a bit and an idea popped in her mind to chear the young 14 year old girl up .

"Amelia. I have an extra free ticket for this weakend's concert. Front row seats. I would like you to have it."Lina said shoving the ticket into Amelia's hands.

"T-t-thanks Lina." Amelia stuttered and her smile returned," Thank you very much."

With that Amelia left and Lina sighed .

"Why did you give her that ticket?" Zel asked as he crawled from under the bed after Amelia left the house.

"None of your business. Besides, you owe me twenty bucks." Lina said and Zel groaned .

"This is Yugi Mutou, a new student . Please welcome him with respect." The teacher introduced Yugi ot the his new class.

"Let's see." She said looking for a seat for him," Why don't you sit behind Miss Amelia and on the right side of Miss Shizuka . Please raise your hands."

Amelia and Shizuka raised their hands and Yugi walked to his seat and sat down.

"Hi." Shizuka whispered to him," You're Yami's little brother right? My brother is in your brother's band. His name is Jounouchi, but mostly everybody calls him Jou.I'm his little sister, Shizuka."

"Nice to meet Shizuka." Yugi whispered back .

Meanwhile at the high school everybody in third period gym class watched as Lina and Yami, the fiercest rivals on the campus, played a one-on-one basketball game.

"Who do you think will win this time?" A student whispered to another.

"Ten bucks on Yami." Another whispered.

"I bet twenty bucks on Lina." Another one said.

"Wouldn't think they'll ever stop being better then the other." Filia whispered towards Sylphiel.

"That would be the end of the world." Martina whispered towards them .

"I agree." Filia said.

"I just hope they won't hurt each other or do anything dangerous." Sylphiel whispered .

"You're right." Anzu said .

Everybody who had bet on Lina or Yami groaned when there was a tie. The coach said the next one-on-one players Zel against Jou .

"They're always equal in strength." Anzu remarked.

"That's right, Lina and Yami are always one step ahead of each other and it's hard to tell who, is the one that's a step ahead sometimes. Lina may have a stronger strength in one subject and Yami in another, but they always find new ways to find who's better." Filia stated .

"Ther would be better as allies then rivals. " Sylphiel said .

Lina grumbled curses as she walked up to her friends.

"Great game, Lina." Filia said .

"But, I didn't get to win him. It was a tie and that's bad." Lina said .

"Well at least you didn't lose." Anzu reasoned .

"I guess that's better." Lina said thoughtfull then put her attention to the current one-on-one game," Go Zel! You can beat him! GO ZEL!"

Everybody sweatdropped at her sudden change in attitude.

"It would better if Yami and Lina would be as good as friends as Zel and Lina. Lina's rivalry with Yami is very fierce and it gets scary sometimes." Sylphiel said . Everybody nodded in agreement .
