That night, all Shadow, Burlow and Kurama did was look after Maria. They were really worried about her. Maria was acting strange, she kept crying and acting depressed. She also seemed to fear for her life, nobody knew why. Who in God's name would want to hurt Maria? What did she do? Kurama got his turn to look after Maria but it was almost five in the morning, he was tired and they had just gotten Maria to sleep.

"I will not sleep, I will not sleep!"Kurama said over and over again, his eyelids got heavy and he was almost asleep.

"*yawn* No problem with resting my eyes... Zzzzzzzz."

Kurama fell asleep, he was too tired to stay awake. Several hours later, Kurama found himself locked an the bathroom with Shadow and Burlow.

"Dad, Grandfather! Wake up!"Kurama said.

"Huh? What?"Shadow said.

"We've been locked in the bathroom!"

"Did you fall asleep?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry."

Suddenly, they heard Maria screaming in the bedroom.

"No, let me go! DADDY, KURAMA!!! HELP, DON'T LET THEM TAKE ME!!! HELP ME!!!"Maria cried, her cries were cut off by a cloth with chloroform on it put over her mouth.

"Shadow, Maria's in trouble!"Burlow said.

"Does anybody have a needle or something?"Shadow asked.

Kurama rummaged through a drawer and found a bobby pin.

"Here."

Shadow picked the lock until there was a loud click. The three hedgehogs ran into the bedroom to find Maria gone.

"No!"Kurama smashed his fist into the ground. "Mother..."

"Kurama, it's not your fault. You were tired and it was late."Burlow said.

"Would you like some help?"a familiar black and purple hedgehog said.

"What do you want?!"Kurama replied.

"Yeah, why are you here?!"Burlow said.

"I'd like to help you."

"Get lost, you can't be trusted."Shadow said.

"Whoa, chill out! I only offered to help. If you don't want it, I'll go find something to do elsewhere."

"What do you think, dad?"Kurama asked.

"I say we tell him no."Burlow replied.

"Maybe we should let him help, what have we got to loose?"Shadow asked.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?!?"Burlow and Kurama said in unison.

"No, it would be easier though."Shadow said.

"*sigh* Alright, you can help. But if you try anything, we'll drop you like a hot potato and I'll see to it that you never come near here again... personally."Kurama told Thunder.
