Beautiful Game, Betrayal.

 

 

The group had just defeated Metal Overlord and sonic had taken off to get away from Amy, Tails was following Sonic closely behind him until he went into the dark clouds obscuring him from view. Tails slowed down and began walking through the thick darkness the clouds had brought with them.

 

“Sonic” Tails shouted out to his friend “Sonic?”

 

Tails continued walking forward and due to the thick cloud cover didn't see the edge of the battleship he was on…

 

“Sonic, Sonic, Son-whaaaa”

 

Tails was dangling over the edge of the flying battle ship he twisted his tails like a propeller to keep him self from falling but used too much power and ended up falling backwards onto his tails

 

“Ahh, Damn it now I wont be able to fly for a while”

 

He was rubbing his injured tails when he herd something behind him turning around and peering into the dark he thought it was Sonic

 

“Sonic” Tails called out “Sonic?”

 

“Guess it must have been my imagination” he thought to himself and turned back round to see how far away from the edge he was, seeing he was only a few steps away from it Tails decided that he'd go back to the others only he never got the chance as something hit him in the back and he went tumbling toward the edge…

Shadow and Omega were standing together Omega was holding Metal Sonic

 

“So” Shadow started “what do we do with him?” Gesturing toward Metal

 

“Eradicate all Eggman's Robots including this one” Omega replied in his monotone voice. Shadow nodded he had one more question foe Omega and he wasn't looking forward to the answer

“I guess that means that you'll be destroying me to”

 

There was a silence between the two then but that wasn't to last

 

“Actually he wont” Shadow looked at Metal Sonic who had apparently come back online and had been listening to their conversation.

 

“What do you mean `actually he wont'?” questioned Shadow

 

“You are the real Shadow those robot versions are inferior to you as I'm sure you have already found out. If you don't believe me you can check the computer on this ship it has records of what happened to you after the after the ark incident” Metal Sonic finished showing no sign that he was lying.

 

Shadow frowned “why would he willingly give me that in formation something defiantly wrong” but curiosity got the better of shadow and he looked to Omega

 

“Can you handle him on your own”

 

“Affirmative”

 

Shadow took of for the main control room to see if Metal was telling the truth.

“The password for the computer is Metal Overlord”

Was the last thing Shadow heard Metal say.

If Metal had a mouth he would be smiling from ear to ear…

 

Shadow ran to the control room, stopping only once when he entered the room with the robot clones of himself clenching his fists in anger he razed his arm and let out an almighty

 

“Chaos Spear”

 

The Chaos Spear cut through about twenty pods and the resulting explosion made the total around fifty. After that he calmed down and continued to the control room. Entering the control room he walked up to the huge computer at the end of the room and began to access the mainframe.

 

After entering the password Metal gave him Shadow found him self uneasy about going any further but he had to know, he had to know if he was the real Shadow or not. He hit the enter key and waited for something to take his head off when nothing did he looked back towards the screen and wished he'd asked Metal where to look there were literally hundreds of files where it could have been “crap now what the hell am I meant to do”

 

After thinking for a while he accessed the search menu and typed in Project Shadow in the command path. He waited for the search to complete. Looking around the room for the first time the room was huge but apart from the computer the room was pretty much bare only a few chars, a small desk and a few charts Shadow didn't recognise. There was a ping from behind Shadow meaning the search was complete he turned around and almost fainted

 

The screen read:

Amy came running out the clouds expecting to see sonic only to be greeted by Cream and Big, Amy couldn't believe it shed gone in a circle around the air ship and wound up where she started. She sighed “why is my luck always against me when it came to Sonic” her thoughts were interrupted by Cream

 

“Hi Amy did you find Mr Sonic already?”

 

“No I didn't Cream I ran all the way down the ship just to end up going in a circle and ending up back here” She sighed again.

 

“I'm sorry Amy”

 

“It doesn't matter Cream” She smiled and returned to her perky self “there's always other days I can get my Sonic”

 

Suddenly the whole ship started to shake and there were a few seconds of weightlessness before every hit the deck of the ship again

 

“What was that?” Big asked

 

“I don't know bu-oh my god the ship is falling” Amy replied half screaming.

Just then something blue speed past the tree of them at incredible sped

One word left Amy's mouth that explained everything

 

“Metal”

Shadow was in the control room cussing loudly he'd been completely knocked of his feet and he had gone strait into the wall he looked back at the screen to where the Metal Sonic sprite was laughing. It had been a trap Shadow knew it, whatever it was had activated when he opened the fifth file, he had fortunately gathered enough information to confirm the fact he was the real Shadow but right know he had to find out what was going on.

 

Shadow turned around and speed back to Omega “if anyone knows what's going on here I will be Metal Sonic” he speed into the room that has all the Shadow clones in. He stopped almost immediately all the pods were empty he Shadow clones had escaped. Shadow continued on until he got out side where he saw Team Rose, Rouge and Knuckles huddled around something when he got closer he realised that they were surrounding Omega.

 

Omega had a huge gash across his metal body, it surprised Shadow through all the battle they'd had today he barley has a dent now he was lying on the ground probably malfunctioning. He ran up to the group one thing on his mined

 

“What happened?”

 

Rouge looked up and said “the ship started falling so we came here to find you two when we got here he was like this”

 

Shadow looked down at Omega one word escaped his lips

“Metal”

 

Omega eyes suddenly lit up and with a “Recovery Mode Deactivated” Stood up. Shadow was the first to say anything

 

“Omega what happened?”

 

After a couple of seconds Omega responded

 

“The ship started top loose altitude Metal Sonic was not as damaged as originally anticipated” He indicated to the hole in his chest.

 

Knuckles decided to speak up then “Hey guys if the ship is falling shouldn't we get off it quick”

 

Every one looked at each other and nodded Cream took Amy and Big while Rouge grabbed Knuckles, Omega activated his thrusters-jets and took of the ground carrying Shadow.

 

They flew away from the falling air ship but there was one thing no one had thought off-

 

Where were Sonic and Tails?
