“Amy, Amy!! Wake up—Please Amy!!”
Sonic held her hand in his, desperately calling her name in hopes of waking her up. If she were alive, or at least not injured too badly, she would be able to respond. His eyes glazed over in tears that refused to fall. The more time that past as she didn't wake up, the worse his heart ached. He soon felt as if he would die if Amy didn't open her eyes. The feeling overtook him to the point that he couldn't take it.
“Amy! Amy!! AMY!!!!” He slammed his fist down on the nightstand beside the bed. “Damn it… this is all my fault! I'm so sorry Amy!!” A moment of silence passed, and near the end of it, Amy squeezed Sonic's hand softly, yet firm. She groaned a bit under her breath, repositioning herself. Sonic immediately stood, surprised and shocked at the same time.
“Amy… open your eyes…!” Amy did as she was instructed. Her lids slowly rose, revealing her emerald eyes, beautiful as ever. Their beauty soon turned to horror when she made out the outline of a hedgehog. Her first reaction was to scream.
“NO!!! DON'T!!!!! DON'T COME CLOSER!!!! PLEASE NOT AGAIN, OH GOD NOT AGAIN!!!!” Amy ripped her hand from Sonic's, fumbling out of his once neatly made bed. She fell on the floor, tripping over the entwined blankets as she attempted to run as far as possible.
“I HATE YOU!!! I HATE YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID!!!” Sonic stared in shock; he had no idea what was going on. He attempted to walk over to Amy, but became caught up in dodging lamps and books and different objects she threw towards him.
“Amy; AMY!! STOP; I'M NOT THE ONE WHO HURT YOU!!” Sonic had to yell over her screams to be heard. When she ran out of objects she began to cry, hugging her knees in the corner of the room under a fair-sized window. Still alarmed, Sonic slowly stepped towards the poor shaking girl. When he got to about a foot away from her, he knelt down and spoke to her softly.
“Amy… its me… Sonic… and I'm sorry… I … I didn't mean anything I said yesterday…”
Amy's sobs lessened a bit. She slowly rose her head, staring straight into Sonic's eyes. He had never seen her look so unhappy. It made him frown as well, sympathetically. He then quickly looked away, expecting Amy to express how much she now hated him. He didn't blame her. He deserved it.
“Sonic… Sonic…” She repeated his name in a faint, weak tone, her voice cracking as she held back tears. Her breath quickened, and her whole body shook.
“Sonic… SONIC!!!” She quickly leapt towards him, wrapping her arms around his waste tightly. Amy buried her face into His chest, sobbing uncontrollably. He put his arms around her, holding her shaking body close. He remained silent, allowing her to cry.
“Y-you… you d-didn't save me t-this time… y-you didn't s-save me…!!! You really don't… you don't love me!! Why, Sonic, why?!” She slammed her fist softly against his chest, frustration and agony meddling within her. “Why… I wanted t-that moment… t-that special moment to be w-with you… not him… not Flame….”
Flame. That name hit Sonic like ice cold water. Flame… he was the one who did this. He hurt Amy, and stole a special part of her away. He deceived Sonic and made him think Amy was out to get him. He made this whole disaster become such a horrible reality.
Filling with rage like no other, Sonic begun to shake himself. With anger, pain, regret, and thoughts of Flame's imminent suffering. “He… he did this to you…?” he choked up the words in a grave tone. Amy nodded, holding on to him tighter.
“I hate him… I-I'm nothing n-now… now that he's d-done this to m-me…” Amy pulled back slightly, still holding onto him, staring at the floor. “I c-can't be loved by you now… I c-can't even try… b-because you never loved me… you never loved me…!!!”
Sonic pushed her further away from himself, his hands placed firmly on her shoulders. She looked away from him, unable to face the one she loved. He continued to stare sympathetically at her. She really was hurt bad… if she couldn't even look at him. Before, she couldn't stop looking at him, telling him she loved him; holding onto him every waking minute.
He gently placed his hand under her chin, bringing her face to his. He stared straight into her eyes, softly, yet passionately. She reluctantly stared back.
“Amy… to say that I never loved you… that would be a damn lie. Because I've thought about was you… for weeks and weeks…. The only thing that stopped me from making you mine… was Flame.”
Amy continued looking into his deep jade eyes, her emerald ones flickering with bewilderment. “W…What?...” Sonic stroked her cheek softly, studying her face, her beautiful eyes, nose, mouth-everything. He continued.
“Yeah… he kinda deceived me…he told me… he had sex with you and… I overheard him talking about you having some plan… to get at me… that's what I'd thought… unfortunately, one of those things ended up coming true. I'm so sorry I wasn't there to save you…”
He held her tightly around her waist, pulling her close to him once again. Her stomach muscles tightened in pain. She was still sore from the blow she'd taken. She paid no mind, though; this moment was too surreal for her. Could she still have a chance of earning Sonic's love?
“Amy… please listen… everything I said before was a lie… the only reason why I was angry was… I love you more than ever, Amy. Not a damn thing could change that now.”
Amy didn't say a word. She wanted to laugh, cry, scream in anger at Flame and scream in glee at sonic. She wanted to repeat “I love you” over and over again, hugging him tightly, and yet she wanted to storm off and get revenge for what flame had done. But, a big part of her wanted to crumble. She wanted to cry forever. Flame had taken something so beautiful from her… and for what? His own sick pleasure. This moment wasn't perfect; Amy couldn't be loved after what happened, could she?
Her voice cracked as she said, “Sonic… I love you so much… but how can you l-love me back… after I'm.. so dirty now…” Her voice grew more faint towards the end of her sentence. Sonic ran his fingers through her soft quills, gently pulling her head closer to his. He then grazed her lips lightly with his, the warmth of his breath tickling her, forcing her into a blush. Sonic then pressed his lips firmly against hers, moaning slightly under his breath. She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck.
They continued to kiss, Sonic pulling Amy down on top of him as he fell backwards onto the spread-out sheets. Amy rested herself on his thigh and stomach a s he held her tightly against him. He was about to delve in for another kiss when he felt a wet sensation against his thighs. It was very warm.
He chuckled a bit. “Wow Ames… that fast?” He ran his index finger a long his thigh, then took a look at it. It was a lot different than what Sonic thought he would see. Deep, crimson-colored liquid covered his finger. She was bleeding, and it was picking up speed too. He looked at her face, noticing her wincing in great pain. He quickly yet gently rolled her off of him, laying her to the side. “Amy… I'm going to get some help, hold on okay?” She nodded, and Sonic zoomed off into the next room where a seldom-used phone was present.
He pondered for a minute, then remembered the number he wanted to dial. The phone rang a couple times. ~come on, come on…~ Sonic grew more impatient each time a ring was heard. Finally, someone answered.
“Hello?” the soft voice of Vanilla answered. Sonic sighed in relief; someone was home. “Vanilla, please—Come to my house as soon as you can! Amy is injured and she needs help!”
Vanilla frowned. “Oh my Sonic that's horrible! How serious is it?” Sonic grunted impatiently. “Don't worry about that; just get over here okay? I don't know how bad it is!” Sonic quickly hung up and ran back to Amy. Surprisingly enough, she was already tending to herself. Sonic had kept an amateur first-aid kit, never been used of course, under his bed. Ironically it had been a present from Amy to him. In it was a stitching kit; Amy used it on herself. As crude a job as she'd been able to do, it was still better than sitting and bleeding. She then lifted up her ripped, torn dress, taking a look at her stomach. It was a light purple; some internal bleeding, though not as serious as it could be, had taken place.
Sonic quickly knelt beside her, amazed at her skill. “Wow Ames… I never knew that you were so good at taking care of yourself.” She nodded, forcing a smile. “ I can do a lot of things you don't know of, Sonic.” She cleaned up some more blood, laying herself back down. She breathed slowly, heavily. Something didn't feel right.
“Sonic… I don't feel… too good…” He stared at her worryingly, then replied, “What's wrong? Is there anything I can do until help gets here?” Amy shook her head. “No… I just feel… like something bad is here… I have chills down my spine…”
Just then, Amy's sentence was cut off by the sound of loud bangs on the front door. It didn't sound like Vanilla; she would ring the doorbell, not bang loudly. Sonic stood. “Let me check that out, Ames…” he walked over to the living room and opened the front door.
